Chapter 31

Rose sat under the large oak tree, shaken by the stories she had just heard.

Tales of the horrors and despair unfolding at Crescent Moon Park under the tyrannical rule of Alpha Alex had left her discouraged and disheartened.

For years, living as the only daughter of the late Alpha Mathias of the Blue Moon pack, she had heard whispers of such atrocities but never imagined they could be true.

She couldn't put the enslaved wolves of Crescent Moon in any more danger by provoking Alpha Alex.

Her fight for freedom suddenly seemed impossible. As Rose sat alone with her troubled thoughts, a distant voice called out her name. "Rose! Rose!"

Rose turned to see Bee, her new friend, gesturing urgently while glancing furtively around. "The old chef, Maggi, is coming this way!" Bee whispered.

Rose smiled in relief and ran off with Bee, escaping Maggi's watchful eyes.
