The way of the thief

"Sam?" I entered the ladies restroom searching for her. Something, or someone, jumped on me from behind. I let out a gasp and turned to see what's going on. I saw Sam's grinning face.

"Don't scare me like that!"

"Yeah yeah, I am so happy for you! And no, I don't know him." So Sam knows about it already?

"Oh my, you picked up on such a bad habit - eavesdropping?"

"Please don't be harsh with me." Sam acted sad and looked at me with puppy eyes.

"Just make sure that Lily won't worry about me. If anything happens to me, I blame you for it."

"Yes ma'am!" She hopped outside of the restroom after saluting me like a soldier.

I sent a message for my sister that I'm not coming home tonight. If she wants answers, she should ask Sam. I went outside to find Sam threatening the man.

"If anything happens to her, I will find you, and I will torture you till you beg for a merciful death!" She pointed her finger at the man's face, and I could see how he barely managed to contain himself from laughter. She looked like a child that threatened her father that she would stop breathing if he doesn't buy her a plushie. I have to stop her or I'm going to burst out laughing.

"Dear, it's ok. Calm down and go back home."

Sam glanced at the man with murder written all over her face.

"Take care." She hugged me and bid her goodbye. I looked at her back as she walked away.

"I hope you haven't changed your mind?" I heard him say. Did I hear some kind of desperation in his words?"

"No. It's too late for that." He let out a small sigh, which I noticed but decided to ignore.

"I don't live far away, we can get there by foot. I hope you don't mind?"

"No, of course not. The weather is perfect for a walk."

After about fifteen minutes of silent walk, with a few meaningless phrases thrown back and forth, the man stopped. He started knocking on the fence in different spots.

"What are you...?" He suddenly stopped knocking, and moved some of the planks aside.

"This is the easier and shorter way to get into my room."

"The way of the thief?"

"You want to write a complaint? Please, just get in." Humph! Making me go into a house like a thief! I live my life honestly, respecting the laws! Oh well, as long as it is his house then a bit of an adventure is actually welcomed.

I entered the backyard and he followed me, going near a window. He opened it and whispered to me: "Go in." His short command left no place for objections. I obeyed him and entered a small bedroom. A small, messed, double sized bed with white sheets on it was against the right wall. Two dark coloured nightstands were placed on both sides of the bed, a family picture was hanging above the bed, showing a family of four smiling to the camera. A girl, about 6 years old, was sitting on her father's lap, and a baby boy with a charming, beaming smile looked at the camera while his mother held him on her hands. The baby was so adorable! If I could, I would pinch his chubby cheeks! Was it a baby picture of the man that I just met? Baby him was so innocent and cute!

"The picture here was taken when I was two years old."

"You were adorable as a baby."

"You want to say that I'm not adorable now?" He sounded like I hurt him by my small remark. 'Oh I'm sorry, but you look more dangerous than adorable, young man!' I thought to myself, turning my face away so he won't notice the changes on my face.

All of a sudden, he pressed me against the wall, one hand leaned against the wall next to my head, and another hand was playing with a strand of my hair. I felt a bit uncomfortable at the foreign feeling of being pressed to the wall. Joshua never did that. When you think about it, Joshua was so boring!

"Stop thinking about him." The man that I was with whispered in my ear with a husky, sensual voice. "Let me take him away from your heart and mind. He doesn't deserve that kind of honour." Was I dreaming or has the temperature increased suddenly in the room? His eyes were filled with passion and they hypnotised me.

"Is there at least some kind of protection?" I heard him chuckle as he moved to one of his nightstands. As he opened the drawer, he brought out a package and showed it to me.

"Is that alright?" He chuckled once again when my face flushed. He threw the package on the nightstand and came closer to me.

"Anything else?"

"Well, I have to say, I am not the hottest woman you will ever..."

"I don't care what you think about yourself. I am not backing off right now. Do you?" He lifted my chin using his hand, making me look at him.

"N-No..."

"Good." He brought himself closer to me slowly, taking his time. Once he put his lips on mine, I felt as the time has stopped. His soft lips and gentle touch made the whole scenario perfect. He didn't rush, making me build an excitement that I have never felt before. Now I understood from where his awfully big confidence comes from. He kept his promise, and I couldn't ask for anything better.
