Chapter 45

The midwife ran away from the castle with the baby, she had loved the king but she didn't get a chance to express it. She was devastated the day Hayden was coronised the Queen of their phoenix clan. She had tried to get back at Hayden but all her plans failed. She had decided to take her child once she gave birth, she planned to use her child to get back at her in the future...

The midwife was out of the phoenix clan now as she was in the human clan. she had bought a hood to cover herself and also the baby..

In the night, the midwife felt like people were following her so she looked back, she saw her people and her eyes widened, they had followed her here. She kept running as she reached the human castle, she dropped the baby but when she was about to run again. She felt plenty arrows full of fire pierced her body, she fell to her knees as she crumbled to dust right in front of the castle.

When they reached the place she dropped the baby, their princess, she was gone. The baby was gone, who could have taken her?, they searched around but couldn't find her.

The midwife in the castle had took the baby, today was the same day their queen gave birth. The queen had high hopes as she had wanted to carry her baby in her arms but her real baby was dead due to miscarriage. The midwife didn't want to hurt her or the king by dropping the bad news, so she had buried the baby all alone. She saw another baby by the castle door and picked the baby up. The baby just seem a day old, she could as well give this baby to her queen. She nodded her head, she was going to do that, there was no way they could hurt their queen. She gave the baby to the queen and king and they had not suspected any foul play, they named the baby rose and the queen was so happy as she carried her baby in her arms.

"The phoenix are immortals, they have the power to regenerate after burning themselves to ashes to get more stronger" the king explained.

"your wife is the fake princess of the human clan but she is the real princess of the phoenix clan, she is the child of Lytius and Hayden" the king said as he finished his story. Such a complicated life for the poor baby and now Rose was still going to suffer the same fate.

"Father, is there a way we can change her..." Nathan trailed off but was cut short.

"Destiny?" the king inquired, and Nathan nodded.

"There is no way we can do that, I am not so powerful to do that, that fruit isn't that powerful to change it, so stop thinking whatever is in your head" the king said. How could they change someone's destiny, that was so impossible..There was no one who could do that except the creator.

"Would I also watch my baby die?" he asked his father.

"That is what you are going to do, you wouldn't even know when it would happen" The king said. He had told his son to save himself form trouble but he wouldn't listen, he deserves the outcome of it.

"Would she ever meet her real parents?" Nathan asked.

"Yes and that time you know what would happen to you?" he said and Nathan nodded.

"But that doesn't explains the blue mark on her neck" Nathan said.

"Yes, the queen, Hayden had put a locket on her child, that locket contained Jaden's identity in form of magic, the mark appeared on her neck when the locket was opened, I don't know why she had kept her child's identity in a locket, maybe she had for seen everything that would happen" The king said.

"If she saw everything, why didn't she save her baby, why would she give her a locket?" Nathan asked, this was really confusing for him.

"I told you, I don't know" the king said.

"Where is the locket anyway?" Nathan asked.

"The locket is useless to her now, the real thing she needed had appeared on her neck, she would know how to use it when the time comes" The king said again.

Nathan nodded, he understood every thing now. He stood up to leave, he felt like telling 'rose, no Jaden, no rose... argh rose' he thought, he didn't know what to call her after hearing her real name.. He felt like telling rose what happened but he just decided to keep it instead he would allow everything to come to pass. That was how it was meant to be anyway.

When I woke up, I raised the sheets above me and I saw my naked body, I gasped as my eyes widened in horror, I racked my brain to check if I did anything, slowly pieces of my memory came back.

I was...kissing..Kiel, KIEL?, oh what had I done, I was scared to even look at Nathan's eye, I had hurt him again after I promised him I wouldn't. What have I done? I asked myself as I started to cry, does that means that Kiel and I have done it?, I couldn't even think straight anymore, I knew myself, I wasn't like this, but who would believe me in this situation, what if Nathan comes in and finds me like this?, I got up quickly to get dressed, I didn't know what to do, I felt like dying after everything that happened. That was right, I would just die, Nathan can't see me like this. I would save myself from the future embarrassment. I quickly placed books on the ground and I hung a rope. After I had placed my neck in the rope I kicked the books away from my feet so I would be left hanging.
