The three finally reunited with each other after a few days of separation.

Miles saw the condition of his friends and his heart ached while his anger rose again. Both of their bodies were in a very bad state and even David lost an eye.

He quickly moved and took health potions from his bag.

"Miles…" both Samuel and David muttered with tears.

They were happy that they saw their friend in a good state but were also worried because he arrived at the place they didn't want him to come to.

"Don't talk. Take this first." Miles fed them health potions as much as they could take.

Feeling their wounds healing slowly and their HP restoring, Samuel and David were amazed.

"A health potion?" David asked.

"Miles, this is precious. You should save it for yourself." Samuel said as he tried to push the health potion away.

"Don't worry. I have many of these. Just take them and heal yourselves." Miles said with a smile.

He was trying to cover his wrath by painting his face with a smile.

The two continued to consume the health potions but the severe wounds could not be healed by it anymore like the deep stab on Samuel's side and the wounded eye of David.

"I want to take you away right now but that would be difficult with what I have just done outside." Miles said bitterly.

"Did? You mean you're the one making those sounds a while ago?" Samuel asked.

"Yes." Miles answered and placed his hands on both of their shoulders. "I have killed Dwaine and that will put us in a difficult position. But don't worry, I will protect the two of you."

"W-Wait. Killed Dwaine? You killed Dwaine?" Samuel asked with wide eyes.

"Yes. For what he did to us and…to you.." Miles clenched his fist. "..he totally deserves it."

Samuel and David lowered their heads.

"You knew…" David muttered.

"I'm not that stupid and it's really not that difficult to analyze the situation the moment I saw his bloodied hands and heard him talk." Miles explained.

"I'm sorry you have to do that.." David said in concern.

Miles just shook his head. "It's fine. It's not like this is my first time killing a person."

His words put the two in surprise.

Miles coughed. "I'll tell you about it later."

Samuel then laughed awkwardly. "We've embarrassed ourselves by letting you see us in this state and even saving us."

"What is there to be embarrassed about? You're treating this like I don't have to do this. Then you are wrong. I would do this even if I risk my life." Miles answered firmly.

David put his hands in front of his eyes to cover his crying and Samuel did the same.

Under the shadow of their palms, they muttered. "Thank you, Miles."

This time, Miles cried with them.

"Also…Jason…" David said. "You've also avenged him. He will be glad."

"What do you mean?" Miles asked.

David sighed. "Jason…didn't make it."

"We three were running away from the zombies. But then Dwaine popped out from the side and pushed Jason away into the zombies and used him to save himself. That bastard did it many times to others too. Jason was caught and…" Samuel explained with deep sadness.

"Jason…" Miles covered his eyes. He already expected it but hearing it still pained his heart. Jason, their friend, was gone.

"Let's find him later and give him a proper burial." Samuel suggested in a hoarse voice.

The two nodded in agreement and a long silence followed.

Remembering the words of Miles a while ago, Samuel spoke. "Miles, you said that we are in a difficult position and I'm assuming it's because of Hans and the others."

"Yes." Miles wiped his tears.

"So? What is your plan?" Samuel asked.

"What are we going to do with those guys?" David followed up.

Miles just shook his head.

"You guys just stay here as I deal with them."

"But we want to help!" Samuel said.

"Then, can you both stand up?" Miles asked them.

The two slightly nodded as they tried to stand up.

And they were unsuccessful even if they were trying hard. That was normal considering that both of them were exhausted and hungry at the same time.

"See? You can't even stand up so just stay put here for a few minutes. I'll be back in a jiffy." Miles said as he gave the two shirts and a few jerkies.

"Don't open the door unless it's me." he warned the two.

"Okay."

Miles went out of the room and saw the empty hallway, except the group of men that were approaching him.

This group was the same group that welcomed him just a while ago.

Hans was in the lead of the group.

They stopped at Dwaine and Ricky's bodies and looked at them for a moment before turning to Miles.

"So this is how you repay our kind welcome?" Hans asked with raised brow and smoked his cigar.

Miles snorted. "Kind welcome? Don't spout shit. I know that you plan to take my things."

Hans chuckled and his smile turned into a grin. "Good instincts. We already plan to do that in the first place. You should have just slept peacefully because we are still being merciful by planning to kill you quickly and without any pain. But now, you've done this and I've got to still kill you, just more painfully this time."

Miles cleaned his ears. "You talk too much."

His words surprised the men.

"Is he serious?"

"Maybe he thinks that he can get away from us."

"What an overconfident kid. He must not have seen anyone stronger than him so he's like this."

As the people murmured, Hans looked at Miles calmly.

"I see that you're confident but kid, you won't leave this place alive. The building is already surrounded by my men and they will kill you the moment you run away from here."

"Who's running away? You guys?" Miles asked.

"You got some sharp tongue for someone who's going to die." Hans said. "Are your friends in that room? I'll send them to you right away so you won't be bored in the afterlife."

Miles frowned.

However, he didn't jump straight away to fight Hans.

He was trying to see who he was going to attack first.

At that moment, a voice came to his ears.

"Miles, how can I help you?"

Miles quickly knew the owner of the voice.

"Julia." he whispered to the air but he knew that Julia was on her stealth and was just close to him talking.

Without turning his head, he spoke to her. "My friends are in the farthest room in the hallway. Can you make sure they are safe while I fight these guys?"

"Sure but you should be careful with that Hans guy. Dante said he's a good fighter. If you can't defeat him, just hold on until the others arrive." Julia said from the shadows.

"Okay. Thanks."

With Julia guarding Samuel and David, Miles could now focus more on his opponents.

He pointed his axe at Hans.

"You want to kill me so it would be alright if I kill you, right?" he asked.

Hans laughed and nodded. "Of course. If you can, that is."

He then pulled out a gun and aimed it at Miles.

Seeing the gun pointed at him, Miles frowned.

'Damn, I didn't see that coming,' he thought.

Honestly, he got scared the moment Hans pulled out his gun, however, he didn't show it to them and maintained his calm expression.

"Why did you become quiet? Cat got your tongue?" Hans smiled.

He then put his gun behind his back, spat the cigarette onto the floor and stepped on it.

"I told you I won't give you a painless death so I'll just beat you to death."

Miles rushed towards Hans and so did the other side with his whole team.

But Hans' side was confused when they saw Miles put his axe behind his back.

'Is he already given up?' they thought.

Before they even get close enough to each other, Miles puts his hands up and shoots the weakest ones with Flame Bullet.

Ten shots were fired quickly and the other side could not expect this attack, leaving them defenseless against the penetrating power of the Flame Bullets.

Miles targeted the men around Hans to decrease their number instantly.

Among the ten men with Hans, seven of them were killed by the unexpected form of attack.

"Shit!" Hans cursed as he witnessed his men die and was furious at Miles.

He reached behind his back and pulled out his gun, immediately aiming it in front of him.

However, Miles already got closer to him for a devastating punch.

'Fist Canon!'

Miles aimed at Hans' wrist that holds the gun.

Bam!

Hans let go of the gun and blocked the next punch of Miles by his other arm.

"Arm Block!"

Bam!

The fist and arm clashed but Miles reigned stronger and actually sent Hans flying, for a few meters.

With Hans in a distance, Miles has the small time to deal with the other three men.

They exchanged powerful blows and seeing how their skills were similar to his team, Miles learned that these men were either warriors or fighters.

He even knew that Hans was a fighter based on the skill that he used that was also used by William a few times.

After a few exchanges, he finally killed the other three.

But he could not take even a second of rest because Hans came rushing at him the next moment with a punch.

Miles took his stand and also let out a punch.

Bam!

They punched each other's face at the same time.

After eyeing the other for a moment, they pulled back their fists and released another attack.

Miles was ready to activate the Fist Canon when Hans kicked him in the stomach powerfully.

He was thrown away and rolled to the floor a few times.

"You're strong, Danny, I give you that. You maybe even have a higher level than me but that won't do anything if you can't wield your strength properly. I have more experience in fighting than you so it already puts me in a huge advantage against you. And I even possess a fighter class which is very compatible with my fighting style."

As Miles stood up, he wiped the blood on his lips.

'Damn, that hurts.'

He did his best to endure the exhaustion and pain building up in his body. For a few days now, his body was not functioning in its peak and perfect state because of some of his injuries that were not still healing like his few broken ribs and arms.

The result was the decrease in his strength and power. If not for the Serene River Meditation, he would collapse due to exhaustion every time they finish a battle.

Miles knew that if he was in perfect condition, even the level 18 Hans would not hold a candle against him.

If he could compete with him in his injured state, he could crush the guy in his peak condition.

But in the current situation, the only thing he could do was to chug in some health potions to lessen the injuries in his body.

Miles pulled out the axe from his back and pointed it at Hans.

"Round two."

Hans just smiled and activated his skill Fighter's Spirit.

The two rushed towards each other again.

Although Miles wanted to use the Flame Bullet again, he already felt that his mana was low and he would not risk using it a few times then implicate his own body again. After all, he doesn't want to collapse in the middle of the enemy territory.

Hans seemed to also see this fact.

Although he was confused as to what Miles' class would be to have a magic skill while looking and fighting like a warrior, he would not let his thoughts be too much distracted. Still, he put this fact in consideration while fighting Miles. And from what he observed, Miles seemed to have depleted his mana and would now only resort to close combat.

For Hans, who prefers fighting in close quarters combat, this was good news.

The moment the two were in each other's close range, they attacked each other.
