"What am I looking at?"
Matthew asked.
Matthew followed Kandor to a part of the darkroom that felt more eerie than the other places.
He kept on trailing behind Kandor until he stopped and signalled him to come forward.
Matthew stood beside him and Kandor gestured towards the small hole.
Mathew looked at the empty hole in a bit of confusion.
"what am I looking at?"
He said to Kandor.
With a crooked smile, Kandor told him.
"Look again."
And Matthew obeyed him and looked again.
But the sight he saw sent shivers through his spine, he has seen a lot of bad things but this takes the cake.
The gruesome sight sent shivers down his spine.
Amidst the darkness, a wide and deep chasm revealed an unsettling tableau of dismembered body parts from various creatures.
The mixture of blood within the chasm reached dangerously close to the brim, its dark and repulsive nature intensifying the horror of the scene.
Matthew slowly stumbled backwards and fell on his butt.
"Are they still alive?"
He asked to confirm the low groaning he had been hearing for a while now.
"Yes they are, they will always be alive."
Kandor said unfazed by the whole scenario.
"This is what happens when she gets bored with her toys, and now this is what will happen to us, to you."
He said, striding toward Matthew, who remained on the floor lost in contemplation.
'I really can't go on like this.'
Matthew thought.
Matthew ran his fingers through his hair, lifted his eyes to meet Kandor, and mustered the most sarcastic voice imaginable.
"Let me guess," he sneered,
"You want me to go against her, don't you?"
Kandor chose silence in response.
"The same celestial who grants people the power to destroy planets turned an entire stellar system into her playground, and stops at nothing to repay those who taunt her."
Kandor's face darkened, realizing the ludicrous nature of his proposition.
He was about to tell Matthew to forget it when the latter unexpectedly continued.
"Going against a psychopath is a death wish, but then again, what do we have to lose?
What is the worst that can happen?
What's the use of living like a puppet that dances to her tune? So you know what? I'm in."
"..... "
Kandor stood at the spot a little bit of tears trailing down his eyes.
'How many have I asked? How many times have I been rejected out of fear? How long has it been? They have bent a knee and somehow let go of all the hatred in their heart out of dread and trepidation.'
Kandor looked Matthew right in the eye to confirm if he was truly ready if any trace of fear was within him and he could find none, all that was there was a thirst, a zeal for vengeance.

.
.
"what about you?"
Matthew asked.
"I be right behind you."
Matthew and Kandor after finalising their insidious plans for vengeance, were standing side by side in front of an unstable rift in space.
"By the way where does lead to?"
Matthew asked curiously.
"anywhere but here."
Hearing the words of Kandor was enough for him although not fully encouraging but it will have to do.
He slowly walked to the rift and stopped collecting his thoughts.
'I don't know if I'll survive but I promise to avenge you Kera, I promise to avenge all of you if I can't save you in this life then I'll use my death to avenge you.'
Matthew promised internally.
He took a deep breath and balled his fist then moved closer to the rift before he was sucked in.
"...."
"Hmmm quiet, well time to do my part."

Valexia the planet of a thousand races; unfolded beneath Matthew as he entered the unstable rift in space.
An expansive canvas painted with vibrant landscapes, shimmering oceans, and sprawling cities greeted him.
The three known continents, Avalox, Yggavrasil, and Nox, each possessed a unique charm, contributing to the planet's diverse and mesmerizing allure.
Avalox, bathed in perpetual sunlight, boasted towering crystalline structures and ethereal gardens, a testament to advanced civilization.
Yggavrasil, a sprawling forest continent, housed colossal trees intertwined with luminescent flora, creating a breathtaking spectacle under the glow of the planet's multiple moons.
Meanwhile, Nox, veiled in perpetual darkness, harboured enigmatic cities illuminated by bioluminescent wonders.
Matthew still enjoying the breathtaking scene failed to notice the movement of the puddle of darkness in space.
It slowly latched onto his legs and....
"Ah fuck"
'Here we go again.'
<Breaking news>
"it has been 4 years since the third son of the powerful Drakonov family has gone missing and the Drako-...."
The news anchor raised her hands and lightly pressed her left ear.
Her expression morphed from annoyance to surprise and finally excitement.
'As expected of the great clan.'
"Just coming in the Drakonov clan has declared a kill-on-sight BOLO on the famous assassin guild Shadowreach for their involvement in the young lord's current missing status.
Anyone found cooperating with them will be exterminated.
Furthermore, all traces of the Shadow reach have been removed from Zareva and neighbouring cities."
"proving-
*Smash*
A remote was thrown into the TV at a ridiculous speed.
"The Drakonov clan are going too far, do they think us weak?"
The guild master of Shadow Reach who was wearing a sleek obsidian mask said.
Opposite the guild master is the mysterious right hand, the blade of the reach.
Shrouded in secrecy, possess an aura of ambiguity that keeps their gender concealed.
Clad in impeccably tailored attire, gloved fingers deftly handle both lethal weaponry and subtle negotiations, leaving those who encounter them wondering about the enigma beneath the mask.
"It's only a matter of time."
Said the right hand.
The guild master stood up from his seat and went towards the window.
He stood in front of the 4-foot-wide window pane overlooking the mountain and replied:
"You are right Q it just a matter of time."
