Chapter 1 - Xiao Fang

The wind whistled past the luscious green grass. In the distance was a large sturdy wall which was 2 feet thick. From a bird's eye view, this part of the wall was only a small chunk of the large city wall.

There was a large city on this flat grassland. The city was large enough to house around 800,000 residents. This city in the middle of seemingly nowhere was Black Leaf City.

In Black leaf city there are two main family that controls the city. Namely: Tang family, Sheng family. The Tang family was the most powerful family in the city, hence the family patriarch took the city lord position.

In the Sheng family, in a small corner a little rundown hut was built. Inside the hut there where 3 people, a middle age man with a sickly pale face also a middle aged woman like that. They both laid down on an almost broken bed.

Next to the bed was a young teenager who appeared to be 14 years of age. He had black hair, but if someone looks closer they'll see hints of scattered purple around, with his eyes with a mixture of purple and black that was enough to make anyone who looked into it mesmerized.

The strange handsome young man was Xiao Long.

Currently he was feeling to many things, anger, regret, sadness so much that his name was about to faint.

''A slaves son from the Sheng family got a grade 2 herb from the secret trail ground'' this was announced as a crowd passed by.

Xiao Long who just left the secret trial ground was shocked of the news of him obtaining the grade 2 herb spread out. No one was around when he collected it so how did it spread out.

He quickly left the crowd and went to the hut where his parent where, both of their eyes were closed. He squeezed the herb into liquid and put it in both of their mouth.

He waited there patiently but he didn't see the result he wanted, he sighed sadly anger brimming in his eyes. When he was young he's father was a very strong expert he roamed secret grounds, different continents he explored the world. A day came news of an ancient ruin from some previous era was found he went.

We never knew that would be the beginning of our family's downfall, in the ancient ruin he obtained the greatest treasure or you can say the only treasures there. When the news spread out, various experts came from different continents to kill him and obtain the treasure when they heard he was injured.

All his friends turned against him plotting on how to kill him and collect the treasures they almost succeeded, but he managed to trick them at the last minute and gave them a different treasure. He fled and faked his death.

We came to the Black Leaf City afterwards, and started living as a servant here until the head of the Sheng family recognized my father. When he saw my father alive he knew that wasn't all there was to the treasure.

The Sheng family leader threatened my father with the lives of me and my mother. he finally gave up, the treasures were not worth his family lives. He gave the Sheng leader a golden orb, we were left alone but brought into the Sheng family.

A week later

My father actually showed signs of regaining his cultivation due to the golden orb but was crippled immediately after by the Sheng family head, not only did he cripple my father he also crippled my mother. He left me alone thinking I was someone they picked up somewhere.

My parent have been laying in the bed ever since and their condition has been worsening. I heard of a secret trial ground opening soon, I joined with the hope of finding a herb to heal my parents and secretly entered the trial ground.

Although my father was crippled I was a genius at the age of 14 he was already at the fifth realm of Qi condensation realm, I was qualified and secretly entered.

Close to the end of the trial I found a grade 2 herb and secretly kept it but news of me obtaining it spread out somehow.

Current day

Both of my parents were already at their death bed, their bodies sickly pale.

Knock knock

''Who's there?'' I asked, come out before I break this door open. I knew who had the voice and why he was here, it was the son of the Sheng family head and he probably came here for the Grade 2 herb.

I walked him to the door and opened it, a young man stood there pale blue eyes with a brownish yellow hair, you could feel the arrogance from his aura.

I hated everything about their family his father crippled my parents and all the time his son would try to bully me.

''I heard you obtained my Grade 2 herb bring it out now'' he said arrogantly. ''What Grade 2 herb I never obtained anything'' I said.

''So you want to do this the hard way'' Guards arrest him, i was forcefully arrested when I heard him saying '' destroy this thing that he calls a house and search every nook and cranny of it till we find it and if we don't find it he'll have to pay.

My house was destroyed, my parents were thrown out and had bruises which quickly started to bleed.

I tried to free my self from the guards but I was too weak to do it in front of them my strength was meaningless.

I watched till they bled and had just a speck of life force left, In the next moment my mother died. I couldn't hold it anymore I used a forbidden technique my father gave me, immediately my eyes turned red and I managed to release myself from one of the guards but the other one stopped me before I could do anything he broke both of my arms.

'' I am too weak'' I said in my heart, if I was strong enough nobody could stop me I could have saved my mother.

They finished searching the house and didn't find the herb, the patriarch son named mike came to me. ''We didn't see anything, looks like it's still with you'' he said, Guards search him. I was searched they didn't find anything on me and tortured me regarding the location of the fruit, they broke both of my legs and disfigured my face.

I could only stare helplessly as I watched them break the bones in my body. '' he'll be dead soon'' said mike he spat on my motionless body and left me there.

I was staring blankly at the sky'' am I really going to die here'' I thought, scenes of my childhood till now started flashing through my eyes the love my parents had for me, adventures with my dad and many more. Right as I was about to close my eyes, I felt something enter my finger.
