Hades was laying down and closing his eyes, trying to fall asleep. The moment his consciousness was slowly fading, the veil of his tent opened and a naked Gabriella entered.
She stared down at him, "HaDeS…" Her voice sounded a bit off to him, a sweet smell, similar to birch leaves flowed from her. He knew because he has chewed them before.
"Go away, I'm trying to sleep." He replied trying to sleep, whatever she wanted, she can wait till morning.
Gabriella approached him slowly, bending over his sleeping body. She grabbed his right hand and slowly laid it on her bosom. The birch scent slowly intensified and Hades started to get a strange feeling, something that he never felt before.
His mind finally kicked into high gears, those feeling he never felt before… He clenched his right hand on her bosom, swinging his left fist at her face at full force. [Repulsion]
The dried couldn't think at that moment, 'What is this reaction? He is supposed to…' she watched his fist approach her face. Thwack! With a shock wave, her body flew outside the tent, leaving a chunk of her left chest in Hades's palm.
As her body rag dolled, crashing into a tree. She looked toward Hades's tend tent with a shaking face. "Why dId YoU aTtAcK mE?" She growled…
"You gave me a weird feeling," Hades replied, throwing the chunk of her chest on the ground.
…Gabriella finally managed to cut the roots gagging her after she nibbled on them for a while, seeing that Hades didn't get fooled by the Dryad's seduction, she was even more certain he was a valiant Valkyrie who will never fall to such things.
"Hades! Kill that Dryad!" Gabriella shouted from inside her tent.
Hades got surprised, there were two Gabriellas? The one who gave him a weird feeling was the fake one, right? He couldn't tell the difference just by looking.
Fen, finally recognizing the danger rushed into Gabriella's tent to help her.
"I see, I was never able to fool you. Such wisdom?" The dryad said as her skin turned into birch bark, her hair into leaves, and her eyes glow green in the dark. "Human, you disrespect the forest. Kill its inhabitant and now, you refuse to accept your judgment."
Hades just stared at her, lifting his fist up ready to fight. "Why should I care, all of you are but Favor waiting to be collected." Hades didn't understand the Dryad's words, and he didn't care to try and understand. In his mind, he came to the forest for Favor, the forest is a place where he could get Favor.
"Killing in the city will result in a lot of people coming for me," Hades said remembering Cael and the guards, "But killing here will only result in you coming, more Favor for me I see it."
The dryad frowned, this human was too far gone. She had noted his strength and wanted to kill him quietly while seduced but alas, there was no escape from the fight.
At that moment, the roots and veins tying Gabriella tightened, quickly pulling her out of the tent before Fen could free her.
The dryad pulled Gabriella to her side, wrapping a vein around her neck and pointing a sharp wooden stick at her throat.
"Human, surrender or your companion will…" Thwack! The dryad tried to use Gabriella as a hostage, trying to treat Hades with her. He didn't care, flying right in with [Repulsion] attracting his fist toward the dryad's face with attraction and then punching her with [Repulsion]
The dryad body bounced off a tree and landed on the dirt. Gabriella fell to the ground with a bruised neck and a long wound on her throat. "I'm fine, it's but a scratch. Thank you for saving me."
Gabriella took a small vial of gold dust from her pocket and started a ritual to heal her neck. Her father once told her that, a hostage is useless after the person gets his desire. If Hades has succumbed to the dryad, she would have killed him and then killed her as well.
'My only survival chance was if Sir Hades got the guts to risk my life, and he did. I should have expected him to match my father's experience, no he probably has more.' She was impressed at how fast he reacted, how he attacked without care, going directly for the dryad. That was the right choice in her eyes.
"Very well, you seem to not care even about your companion's life, no wonder I failed to seduce you with her shape." The dryad said standing up, CRACKLE! Her body started getting lifted up by veins.
"Seduce? All you did was give me a weird feeling, you also reeked of birch." Hades growled as he flew toward her with [Repulsion]
The dryad created a wall of branches to stop Hades's charge, just behind it she raised a bunch of sharp wooden spears.
As Hades flew in, he swung a kick at the wall smashing it [Repulsion] the wall shattered into hundreds of small pieces as Hades flew right through. He saw the spikes and the smiling dryad behind them.
[Attraction] Hades pulled himself to the side immediately, his turn was too sharp for the dryad to have expected him to do it at such speed. She turned her head in surprise, "And this!" Swinging her hand, a whip-like vein sprouted from the ground and caught Hades's ankle.
Using that, she swung like a ball at the end of a string, easily smacking him on a tree.
GRA! Hades growled [Repulsion] as if his back muscles exploded, and his body got immediately propelled toward the dryad. He swung a fist at her face, and she dodged to the side and grew a club in her hand.
"HA!" she swung the club at Hades's head, human usually die after taking a strong hit to the head, which was a known weakness.
Hades stomped the ground, shifting his body to the side and bending his torso. The club passed right above his head. His left fist rushed alongside his movement in a magnificent counter. [Repulsion] BAM! Her body got flung backward, and for a moment her vision blurred. 'Is this really a human or is he a monster?' she wondered.
Using the veins she swung around one of the trees to catch herself, to her surprise Hades was already after her with another punch.
Just before he could connect the kit, a large wooden root emerged from the ground and smacked him to the sky.
BLAH! Hades spat blood as his internal organs took a heavy hit, an attack strong enough to send him flying was more painful than he expected, but this only angered him more.
"GRWAA!" Hades screamed, [Repulsion] blasting him back toward the dryad with a kick, [Attraction] he pulled himself toward her directly so he wouldn't miss.
"What a monster!" The dryad created a large spike for Hades to him and leaped away. To her surprise, his body shifted direction, still chasing her even though she moved quite a bit away.
She started to run away by swinging from one tree to the other, Hades flying kick chasing her no matter where she went. "How are you chasing me?" She could wrap her head around seeing Hades fly toward her constantly with a foot extended like that. Humans shouldn't be able to fly, let alone in that position!
