He woke up the next morning and began looking through the dungeon looking at things that needed to be done first.
"Looks like the skeletons are doing a really good job even if there are only 2 pickaxes the skeletons can work 24/7".
The dungeon expansion was halfway done, the skeletons had been able to go through 75 feet square of solid stone. He made sure to collect the debris that was created and put it into his inventory, he didn't know if one day it could come in handy. 25ft of the dungeon was now 10ft wide which would give him the 3ft hallway he would when the cages were put to the back of the dungeon.
Tyler couldn't help but get a little peek outside and found out that the dungeon was in a mountain that was in a forest.
"Looks like I might be able to go outside once in a while". He began thinking about what he just said and shook his head "I better wait until I rank up the dungeon so that the defenses can be strengthened".
He came back inside and looked at his board and found that he had 70 SP, he would use 30SP to feed the monsters leaving him with 40. He was tempted to use some to get another pickaxe so that future expansions could be finished faster, but he stopped himself to make sure that nothing else was urgently needed.
"Well, I don't need a bed, since I feel fine after sleeping on the floor. I've also haven't eaten or drank anything and my body still feels the same".
After he said this he began to feel like he was overlooking something, once he finally discovered what it was he smacked his forehead.
"How can I be so stupid, I might feel fine without drinking anything but the monsters do. I only thought of feeding them but totally forgot that they need to drink".
He immediately opened a hole to look at the bear, but something unexpected happened, as soon as he opened the hole an awful smell came out. Since Tyler was not expecting it he almost puked whatever it was that he had in his stomach. He looked inside and found a pile of bear dung on the floor, the bear seemed to have stepped on it and spread it everywhere.
Tyler quickly closed the hole and opened the entrance so that the dungeon could get ventilated. He walked to a cave wall and hit his head on it, he was surprised that he didn't feel anything he hadn't hit his head hard enough to get a concussion because he wasn't stupid but it should have still been enough to hurt a bit.
"How could I have forgotten about two of the basic needs that every living thing needs which were water and to defecate. I don't want the monsters to die of thirst and I also don't want them to get sick".
He sat down and looked all over his shop for a solution to his problems. In the end, he found three solutions for the water issue and two for the hygiene one. Two solutions for the water problem were in the utility tab of the shop.
One of them was to buy a gallon of water from the shop but he immediately discarded it since it would add an extra 10SP cost for each monster, he was also sure that they could drink more than that.
The second one was to buy a bucket and make the skeleton find a body of water nearby and fill it. This option was also out, Tyler didn't want his monsters out since it might lead to the discovery of the dungeon.
The third option which he liked the most and felt like it was a no brainer was found in the monsters tab.
----------------------------------------------------------------
Water Sprite
Cost: 50 SP
Level: 1
A small spirit that has an affinity for water magic. They are intelligent and will follow complex commands. The water sprite can summon water to attack and defend against intruders.
After reaching level 10 it can evolve into a Water Fairy. It will gain a physical body and will be able to have stronger water attacks and defenses.
For the dung problem, Tyler had two options but he quickly made up his mind. The first one would be for him to buy cleaning equipment. "Right like I'm stupid enough to clean the crap of these monsters".
The second solution that he had chosen was also located in the Monster tab.
----------------------------------------------------------------
Slime (Small)
Cost: 50 SP
Level: 1
A blob of slime that is able to eat through any material. Can follow basic commands. It's fluid body protects against physical attacks. The only way that it can be killed is by being able to destroy it's core but would only happen with a piercing attack. It can harden its body creating weapons. After reaching level 10 it can evolve into a Slime (Medium). It's body will increase in size making it harder to break it's core, its viscosity will also increase allowing it to harden even more.
Now Tyler was left with a decision to make "I don't have enough SP to buy either one, the only way that I could is if I didn't feed one but then which issue would I fix first"
After thinking about it for a few minutes he made his conclusion.
"Well those monsters can survive a day without water, but leaving them in such a gross cage would be torture. As for which one would get fed I'll just cut the pork in half with the skeleton's sword. Neither of them would go to sleep with a full stomach but at least they wouldn't go to sleep hungry".
He purchased the slime and after he opened a small hole in the wall he let the slime in and ordered it to eat all the poop. He felt grossed out saying it and was even more grossed out when he saw the slime start absorbing the feces.
As the smile cleaned up the bear tried attacking. At first, it tried biting but after seeing it had no effect it began trying to claw it apart. The slime seemed to be getting annoyed suddenly began whipping the bear with a whip that it created out of it's liquid looking body. The noise it made as it hit the bears pelt made Tyler shiver as he imagined how much it would hurt.
The bear stopped attacking and just stared at the slime. Eventually, after the slime had finished with the floor it began moving towards the bear's paws. The bear seemed scared and began walking away but it was cornered since the room was small for its size. In the end, the slime left the cage shining, literally shining the slime seemed to have polished the stone while it was working.
Tyler did the same in the Kobold's cage and the same thing occurred, by the time the slime finished the cage was clean and the Kobold was tamed.
He smiled as he looked at the slime "Nice work little guy, I like your attitude".
Tyler was about to pick up the slime but then he remembered what the slime had just done and decided that he would only touch it after he had enough points to scrub it down with tons of soap.
He decided to move the cages to the back of the cave again since they were clean now and so that the skeletons could finish the expansion. After that was done he looked at the open area where the slime had cleaned "Note to self make the skeletons scrub the heck out of that floor as well".
He went back to his room and had another long sleep.
