outside the castle
Kaito stepped outside of the castle and proceeded toward the town, crossing the bridge that connected the castle and the town. As he ventured forth, he couldn't help but notice the curious gazes directed at him. It dawned on him that his attire was out of place, drawing attention to himself. Recalling a scene from an anime where a character sought a clothing shop, Kaito decided to approach a random passerby for assistance.
Politely, he inquired, "Excuse me, but could you direct me to a clothing shop?"
The person looked at him with a hint of confusion, perhaps finding his request a bit peculiar. Despite the initial bewilderment, the individual kindly provided information about the location of a nearby clothing shop.
After reaching the location that had been pointed out to me, I discovered that it bore a striking resemblance to the clothing shop depicted in the anime. Upon entering, a small ting echoed as the doorbell chimed. A woman behind the counter looked up, her eyes sparkling with excitement. She couldn't contain her enthusiasm as she asked, "How can I help you?"
Feeling a bit awkward due to her overwhelming excitement, I introduced myself, "Hello, I'm Kaito Genkei." I hesitated for a moment before continuing, "I want to sell these clothes and, in turn, purchase some new ones."
The woman's eyes widened, and she exclaimed, "Kaito Genkei! It's a pleasure to have you here!" Her excitement was palpable. "Oh, I've never seen such unique clothes! Tell me all about them."
Kaito, still adjusting to the attention, smiled and began describing the origin and details of the clothes he was wearing. The woman listened with rapt attention, occasionally interjecting with comments about the different styles and fabrics. It became evident that she had a genuine passion for world fashion.
Kaito, appreciating the woman's enthusiasm, shifted the conversation towards the business at hand. "I'm glad you find them interesting. I was hoping to sell these clothes and perhaps find something unique from your collection."
The woman's eyes lit up even more, and she responded, "Oh, I'd love to take a look at what you have! And don't worry, we have a diverse collection that might catch your eye."
As Kaito laid out the clothes he wished to sell, the woman examined each piece with keen interest. "These are truly one-of-a-kind! I can see they're from a different world. The craftsmanship is remarkable," she exclaimed.
"Thank you," Kaito replied, feeling a sense of pride in his attire. "Now, about purchasing new clothes, I'm looking for something that seamlessly blends with the fashion of this world."
The woman nodded, excited at the prospect of assisting Kaito. "Absolutely! We have a variety of styles inspired by different cultures. Let me show you some options."
I sold my clothes at 8 silvers, it seems she really appreciated them, explaining the good price. The purchased medieval-themed clothes cost 6 silvers, resulting in a profit of 2 silver. With the profit in hand, I decided to venture into a weapons shop to equip myself for the adventures that awaited.
Before that, I checked the system shop to see what I could buy.

Kaito: 'I wonder why I'm only seeing two things from each option.'
System: 'Details of the other options will be given when the host has sufficient points.'
Kaito: 'Why even bother right now? Purchasing anything might create problems, so let's think about it later. Let's go to the weapon shop and purchase an Axe. I have Axe expertise [green]; it should be used properly. Who knows, I might become the vassal hero of Axes. Let's find information about the weapons.'
After visiting a few weapons shop I figured out a few things of the weapons. Wait, hold on. Is that Naofumi? They must be going to the weapon shop. Considering he is wearing the same as before, I wonder what took them so long."
Naofumi POV (After court room)
After leaving the castle, Myne suggested heading to the weapon shop, but I stopped her.
Myne: "Sir, Shield Hero, is there any problem?"
Naofumi: "Oh, it's nothing. Let's visit the church first."
Myne: "Why is that, Shield Hero?"
Naofumi: "Kaito told me that visiting the hourglass will tell me the time when the waves will strike."
Myne: "But didn't you and Mr. Kaito not know anything about this world?"
Naofumi: "Kaito himself doesn't know much about the world (game), but he recalled the basics and told them to me."
Myne: "Oh, is that so?"
Naofumi: "Myne, do you know where the church is, right?"
Myne: "Yes, Sir Shield Hero. We should follow that way for the church."
POV ends (after the visit of the church)
Kaito decided to follow them silently and found the weapon shop. The only good thing Malty (Myne) did for Naofumi was to introduce him to this shop. I waited patiently for them to go out for hunting down monsters. After a while, they came out, and I then entered the shop.
Elhart: "Welcome!"
Kaito: "I would like to purchase a chainmail, a pair of daggers, and a great axe, all with blood clean, and bring them for level 1 with a budget of 300 silvers."
Elhart: "So, you know what you want, huh? Okay, fine. Wait, I'll bring all the weapons."
After saying this, he goes behind the counter and collects the items.
Elhart: "These are the items you want. Check them."
I took the great axe, giving it a swing and trying out different moves with it. When I received axe mastery, I not only received memory but also muscle memory, so using the axe felt natural, and my stats made me a strong warrior. Elhart seemed impressed by my way of handling the Great axe. I took the chainmail and wore it in the changing room.
Kaito: "How much does each cost?"
Elhart: "Those daggers are 30 silvers for both, that chainmail is 120 silvers, and the great axe is 150 silvers."
Kaito: "Well, this is 300 silvers. I hope the quality doesn't disappoint me."
Elhart: "Rest assured, sir, about the quality of the goods."
I know he is the best weapon smith I can get, and besides, with the system, I can get weapons from different universes, so I have nothing to worry about. Now that all this is over let's go hunting.
I inquired about a suitable hunting ground for beginners, seeking guidance from the locals. They pointed me toward a nearby field where vibrant orange balloons danced in the air. Intrigued, I opted to wield my daggers rather than my trusty axe, anticipating a more delicate touch for this peculiar task.
To my surprise, the balloons proved to be rather fragile, bursting with minimal effort. Each popped balloon rewarded me with a mere 1 experience point. As I continued my hunt, dispatching 20 balloons became a swift and somewhat monotonous endeavour.
In my quest for advancement, I find myself in need of 160 experience points to attain the next level. Pondering the reason behind this requirement, I speculate that the magical core may play a crucial role. Despite the realization that more experience is essential, my primary focus remains on strengthening my abilities.
Persisting in my endeavours, I dismantle an additional 20 balloons. However, the pace at which I am accumulating experience points, I decide to diversify my targets. It becomes apparent that solely relying on balloon encounters may not be sufficient to achieve the level-up today.
With 40 experience points in tow, I ventured towards the dense forest, eager for a more rewarding challenge. As I entered the shadows of the trees, I encountered a new array of balloons, including the elusive red ones. To my delight, these red balloons proved to be bit more formidable adversaries, each providing a generous 5 experience points upon their defeat.
As I continued my exploration, I stumbled upon balloons of various colours, each offering different experience point rewards. Some yielded 10 experience points, while rare ones granted a substantial 25 experience points.
Excitement coursing through me, I took down balloon after balloon, carefully tallying my experience points. After a successful series of battles, I found myself with a total of 160 experience points.
Having successfully levelled up, I became aware of the advancing dawn and the approaching night. Recognizing that progressing alone would be time-consuming, I made the decision to sell my loot and looked for a shop to sell it. After locating the shop, I sold 40 orange balloons for 1 bronze each, 24 red balloons for 5 bronze each, now I have total of 502 silvers and 64 bronze and now to take the first step of plan.
