03-Heart of the imp

The doors fling open.Three sets of feet pass through the open space.

"I don't see how a vampire could be disgusted by a mere human pulling out a heart."Rykyo Scoffs."I'm honestly disappointed."

"I've never seen anything like that before!"Jaq looks towards Aoi"Aoi,how were you so calm...you know, pulling out a heart?"

*zzzzzzzz*

"You're not serious...How are you sleeping while standing?"His eyes widen.

The girl blinks twice,looks towards Jaq,then falls back to sleep.

'Those dark circles around her eyes,for humans,that means that she's either sleep deprived...or high on drugs.'Jaq shelves his Katana.'Wait,she could be an insomniac,or a druggie. I'll lean towards the latter,she was fighting like she was awake earlier on.'

"Hey Aoi..."

"Have you retreaved anything,Team Heaven?"A heavy voice accompanied by a grounding presence emerges.

"Shit, we're going to die!"Rykyo turns his head only to be met with a friendly smile under an orange,well groomed moustache.

"Now why would you say that?"The man asks.

"Mr.Gurder!"The boys say simultaneously,waking up the dazed Aoi."We have completed our task,we have brought you the heart of a Demon."Jaq proudly beats his chest.

Rykyo lifts his hand as a blue light shines, revealing the heart."Wow,that's record time!You did it in under 10 minutes."Gurder's eyes glow.

"Now you will receive a rank,I deem you...Rank silver."

"Rank silver?"Aoi snaps out of her drows.

Jaq looks towards the oblivious girl,"Teams are assigned ranks.From bottom to top,they go from rank copper,to rank bronze,to silver,to rank gold,to rank sapphire,then finally, diamond."

"Then how are we only third rank?"Rykyo folds his arms."We just defeated a powerful demon.

"Yes you did,however it was merely a team performance."Gurder raises his finger.

"So you were watching?"Jaq smiles.

"I was observing."Gurder turns."You have a lot of potential Jaqueline,I can feel it."

'Especially considering the vamp I've fought,he has potential to reach at most, half of his strength.'

"Rykyo,you have unlimited access to magic,your mana never runs out but you don't know how to use that to the maximum."The teacher continues.

"Aoi...You're incredibly vigilant,you're not particularly fast or strong..in fact you're weak,but you make up with a unique martial arts."

'Although,that rib chop didn't do jack against the imp,she is practically untouchable...that fighting style is so familiar,yet foreign at the same time.'

"I'm hungry..."Jaq says while looking at Aoi.

Immediately,Gurder gets into stance, Rykyo loads a blue beam on the tip of his middle and index finger,pointing it towards the halfling.

"Wait,wait,wait!What's with the hostility?"Jaq raises his hands in defence.

Jaq is a hybrid between vampire and human.Him saying he was hungry while looking towards vampires' favourite meal triggered something in both Rykyo and Gurder.

"I can eat human food you know!"Jaq continues.

The two drop their guards."I apologize,that was rash of me,you know, considering the fact that I am a teacher who should not be discriminating so."He bows.

"You do that shit again,I will kill you."Rykyo,who witnessed Jaq's power first hand knew of the bloodlust that lurked within Jaq.He knew that Gurder had no comprehension of this because he was just too strong to even consider Jaq a threat.Needless to say, Rykyo was scared of Jaq.
