S1 Ep.10

School days only took place during the week days like any other school but students were free to do whatever they wished on the weekend.

Koji was in the teacher library because it was a Sunday meaning no school which allowed him to catch a train to New York as madam Bo had wasted no time to grant Koji's wish.

Thankfully madam bo had also provided the means for Koji to return as he held a map a phone and a credit card given by Madam Bo.

Yet all of this once again seem to be a little much too Koji that is as Madam Bo was in her office relishing in her new techniques she couldnt use before until a knock was heard on her door.

"Enter."

Cinthia and her father entered along with a strikingly beautiful young man whom Madam Bo Knew but also disliked.

"Hello Earl, what brings you and your children to my office?"

Both Earl and Cinthia noticed the clones doing Madam Bo's paperwork while she relaxed.

"I have come to ask for a favour between friends."

Earl and Madam Bo had been friends since a young age and was the reason why Cinthia and the young man was put into her school as they saw her more like a aunt then a headmaster.

But madam bo suspected what the said favour was about.

"If it's regarding the new Soul master I must say no as I made a promise to him that I don't intend to break."

Earl laughed before the young man finally spoke after remaining silent since his arrival.

"We're the 5th ranking lagacy family. You will accept regardless."

Madam Bo and Earl rolled their eyes in unison as this troublemaker of troublemakers was Jokai Solomon.

Some students would say he is a peerless genius but madam Bo knew he was nothing but a spoiled and incompetent man.

Earl was quick to hit Jokai on his head to make him shut up before turning back to madam Bo.

"All I ask is to meet this new Soul master."

Madam Bo knew Earl well enough to tell if he was lying and sensed no lies in his words.

"I can arrange for a meeting but you will have to comeback another day as Master Koji is out of school grounds on personal matters."

Madam knew better then to tell anyone about Koji's leave of absence as it wasn't her story to tell.

Earl was able to wait a few days but Jokai not so much as he slammed his hands on the desk.

"Tell us where this new Soul Master is! I won't ask again."

Madam Bo's aura began to leak out causing Jokai to hid behind his father while Cinthia withstood the pressure.

"Listen here boy, the only reason you continue to attend my school is because I respect the relationship your father and I have."

Once Madam Bo calmed down Jokai left the room with a face full of rage while Earl and Cinthia bowed before leaving.

"My apologies for my son's behaviour. Please let me know when Master Koji would be available."

Madam Bo waved goodbye with no worries I in her mind as she knew Earl well enough to know that he would not do something irresponsible and wondered what Koji was doing at that very moment.

'I'm so lost'

Koji had just purchased some flowers to give to his family but tried to find his way through the city but ended up being lost until the unthinkable happened with the sky turning red and alarms blaring from every direction.

A dungeon had spawned somewhere in the city and Koji felt like he had to help in any capacity before he disabled his illusion technique.

A very helpful technique that made it seem like Koji was wearing his normal clothes but instead was wearing his school uniform and mask with Hatasho on his back before he jumped onto Hatasho like a surfboard and flew away using the Sword Ki flight technique.

It was easy to spot the Dungeon gate as multiple explosions had went off with a purple light at its center.

'I should help anyone who's trapped under the rubble.'

Koji immediately used his Shadow clone technique to help the trapped civilians while the real Koji landed in front of the gate and saw no one in sight.

Koji was tempted to jump in but remembered he had no idea how to close the dungeon.

At the Wakana academy students in their third years start to learn about monster combat and Dungeon exploration.

Koji was still a first year so he had yet to learn about it.

Soon dozens of Soul guardians arrived at the scene only to find Koji and his clones already doing their job.

Koji expected a pat on the back for his quick response to the dungeon but was met with the opposite from the soul guardians.

"Hey rookie! This Dungeon is our job to handle! We need to make the requirements to get paid so scram!"

It was here that Koji was reminded on how selfish and greedy Soul guardians were but all that matter was that the people were safe and the dungeon was sealed.

However the soul guardians were only focused on clearing the area of monsters.

But one of the late arriving soul guardians approached Koji who was standing by the gate in case any monsters came through.

"Hey! I said for you to leave! Don't make me-!"

"!"

Koji had been reasonable with their actions but even Koji's patience had limits as he had shown the late arriving soul guardians the full power of his rage.

"I nearly forgot that all you Soul Guardians are fiends who do nothing but fill your pockets and forget about who you harm in the process."

Koji's Aura and Hatred were leaking out and it was suffocating for the soul guardians to stand near Koji.

It was at this moment that the dungeon dungeon responded for the first time.

Koji and the other guardians readied themselves as undead monsters came through the portal.

"Everyone fall back to wait for reinforcements!"

Koji was shocked.

"We can't leave! There are still people who need help!"

However Koji was left alone to fight the undead horde and to save the civilians while the soul guardians retreated to safety.

'You bastards!'

Koji was overwhelmed with rage and let his hatred be used on the undead as everyone living being in New York could feel Koji's Aura.

"What's happening?! Did a demon lord appear?! We need to evacuate!"

Due to this unexpected aura it took hours before soul guardian's arrived to see Koji sitting on a mountain of bones.

The soul guardian's were about to attack Koji as they felt this menacing aura emanating from him before it stopped while Koji started walking away.

"Took your time getting here! You guys are pathetic!"

Many actually thought that Koji was a humanoid creature as anyone would given what Koji was wearing but as Koji was about to fly off he felt a hand on his shoulder.

"Now wait just a m-!"

Koji was already mad beyond belief and used his soul essence to reinforce his hand as he backhanded the man who grabbed him.

"Don't you touch me! Since I had to save the civilians and guard the gate for hours you can finish the job!"

Koji then flew away in seconds while the guardians present built a perimeter.

All while Koji had picked up another bundle of flowers to give to his family before he heard someone else enter the flower shop to see it was Rossin Baiko.

"Ah Master Koji! I thought that was you! How have you been my boy? Did you like my gift?"

Koji looked at Rossin before he left with flowers in hand while Rossin followed at a distance.

'Is he visiting a lover? Or maybe a family member in the city? I should've prepared another gift.'

However Rossin was confused on where Koji was going as he saw Koji enter a cemetery before it dawned on him.

'He's paying respects but to who?'

After just moments of entering the cemetery koji stopped at three graves and dusted off the gravestones.

"Hi everyone, I missed you."

Koji had lifted his mask as he placed the flowers he was holding on his mothers grave.

"I got you your favourite flowers mom. You guys won't believe what has happened. I… became a soul guardian."

Rossin was enhancing his auditory senses with his soul essence so he could hear and expected Koji to talk about of wonderful it was being a soul guardian.

But he was wrong as he could hear Koji crying and was surprised.

"I swore to never be a soul guardian. I tried not to be one since it was a soul guardian who took you away from me."

Rossin was surprised to find out that a soul guardian had killed Koji's family before he received a phone call from the Soul Hunter Society.

"Rossin here. You don't need to worry about the man who was there as I know he isn't a threat. I'll be right there."

Rossin hung up and was about to fly away before his senses spiked as Koji was looking directly at him.

Rossin simply waved while Koji's rage spiked once again.

'Following me to my family's graves is the last straw.'

Rossin took no time at all to reach the gate and saw hordes of undead coming through with no end in sight.

"What's the situation captain."

The captain was quick to respond as guardians were busy holding back Skeleton knights and liches.

"Dungeon intensity is at 20 thousand. We're holding them back for now but we need reinforcements if things escalate further."

Just then Koji landed alongside 40 clones before Koji's clones took over defending the dungeon gate while the others retreated.

Both Rossin and captain thought it was a Soul guild but soon realized it was only one man.

'I've never known someone to create this many shadow clones.'

It truly was a sight to behold but the real Koji had started walking towards the tent where Rossin and the captain were.

"Master Koji! What a spectacular performance! How did you master the Shadow Clone technique? Did old man Zuang make a breakthrough?"

It was no surprise that Rossin hadn't know it was Koji himself who made a breakthrough regarding the shadow clone technique as it was earlier this morning that it had happened.

But Koji don't care as he stared straight at Rossin with hatred in his eyes.

"You followed me as I was visiting my family's grave. That is disrespectful to them."

Rossin knew he couldn't play dumb as Koji had looked directly at him and simply apologized with a slight bow.

"I am sorry master Koji but I was tasked with finding the source of a potential enemy who had escaped. I did not know it was you so I am deeply sorry for the disrespect to your family."

Koji felt little sympathy from Rossin's words before he took off the storage ring that was given.

"You can have this back, don't follow me again."

Rossin wanted to convince Koji to keep the ring and its contents but stopped as Koji turned to the captain who was in awe because of how Koji's clones we're having no trouble defending against the undead horde.

"I will demand compensation for my assistance in clearing this dungeon and if that won't be done then I'll step to the side."

The captain looked around and saw the men and women under his command who were originally supposed to guard the dungeon portal were at their breaking point.

Koji knew the Soul Hunter Society compensates their warriors for their involvement in dungeon raids. so it was the perfect time to have a taste.

"That can be arranged so I must formally ask you. Will you help us master Koji?"

Koji simply nodded before he casted healing aura on everyone in the vicinity which naturally surprised them, Rossin and the captain.

"What was that just now? Was that a healing aura? You just healed over 70 warriors in a single cast. How?"

Koji hadn't thought much of it as Ms.Pearson was able to heal over a hundred teachers with a single cast but Koji didn't know that a normal healing aura could heal at most ten people.

"It's nothing much. But I will wish to be fairly compensated for my help."

Both the captain and Rossin were shocked. Fair compensation? At this point they were being a hindrance more then providing help.

Except for Rossin as he had enough strength to hold the Dungeon portal closed.

Koji was still inexperienced in exploring an actual dungeon so he didn't know what to do.

"How do we close the dungeon? I haven't been taught about dungeons."

This came to be a surprise to the captain but not Rossin who did his own extensive research on Koji and knew he was only a first year at Wakana Academy.

But the captain had naturally assumed that Koji was already a fully qualified guardian so he was naturally shocked to see that wasn't the case.

'He has such talents and yet he is still learning in a soul academy?! And how is he not tired at all?'

The regular shadow clone technique requires you to constantly supply your clones with your Soul essence to maintain its form.

But Koji's improved version was quite cost efficient as each clone took a small portion of essence and could last up to ten minutes before disappearing.

It was natural to call Koji a unparalleled Soul guardian without a doubt but for Koji? He thought his actions deserved little recognition.

The captain then realized the dungeon was still active and that they needed to close it.

"We need to pass through the dungeon and beat the dungeon boss. After that the way will open and we can close the dungeon for good."

Koji was surprised it was that simple but to Koji many complex things were easy to accomplish.

He didn't even realize he was singlehandedly holding back wave after wave of A-Rank monsters called Death Knights and Grand Liches with his clones alone.

"Let's get it done then. Soul Link!"

Koji had connected to everyone in the camp and replenished their Soul essence which surprised everyone, even Rossin.

'How much Essence does this boy have!?'

It was at that moment Rossin used a technique called Soul Eyes finally noticed Koji's hotoji and saw it absorbing Soul essence from the Death knights and Grand Liches as they fell by the hands of Koji's clones.

Every hotoji had unique abilities but Rossin never heard of one stealing soul essence from the enemies it slays.

Rossin only smiled as he knew deep down Koji wasn't finished with the surprises.

'Seems I won't need to worry about the boy.'
