The World out of the City

Ben opened his garage, Conan had brought his things in a total of three large bags. Ben had six and Yelena also came with her luggage on her that was only one bag. Both Conan and Ben were a little surprised by Yelena.

" You guys can activate your traveller badge, we will have to leave the city within 24 hours after activating it," Conan informed.

" You kids, Make sure you eat well." At these words, Both Conan and Yelena felt emotional. They were fond of the food that Ben's uncle cooked for them, however, Ben did not react at all. Despite having achieved a good shape he was always eating healthy things.

" Take care uncle." Ben hugged his uncle and sat in the driver's seat. Everyone said their goodbyes and the car started while Yelena followed from behind on her bike.

" So Conan what's the world is like outside of the city dome," Ben asked he felt good about leaving this cage-like city even if it's a transparent dome made of energy, it was not to his liking as a human.

" It's very different from what the internet shows, you will find a lot of things out there that you might have thought are rare in the city. Spirit beasts are common, you can find one anywhere you want, although the rank will be low." Conan answered.

" Really?" Ben was surprised to find this out.

" They are also a good way to make money, I have used all of my earnings on buying the items from the auction. I think as soon as we get out of the forest area we should go for a hunt."

" That would be exciting," Ben chuckled, he was excited to live this new kind of life.

After driving for six-hour continuously Ben was tired and Yelena was as well.

" We are about to reach the checkpoint," Conan said as they were about to get out of the forest area.

" Oh right?" He said.

Yelena was driving her bike and received the message on her bike screen. Both of them reached the place where they could see people blocking the road.

" Conan Alarick, Ben Lupin and Yelena Parker. All of you confirm your exit, here are the confirmation documents." The guards handed them the documents. Through this Yelena came to know the last name of Conan which he had never told anyone before.

" Alarick is a nice surname, isn't it?" Yelena chuckled.

" Haha, Very funny!" Conan replied in an annoyed tone.

* 3 hours later.*

Ben had a hard time keeping his eyes open, however, Yelena and Conan were alert and awake. It was the time of the night and they had been following a road with no presence of any other vehicle, it was like it had been abandoned. The area on the online map was completely grey, from the moment they left the city check post.

Eventually, they reached somewhere near an area where there was a civilisation.

" We can go there, I think you are at your limit. Teach me how to drive this thing, I think I will not face a problem like this again, sorry." Conan apologised because he was not able to help Ben.

" Don't mind, this type of car is hard to drive." The car was a hovercar, that looked more like a Jeep, there was enough to load enough 5 times the luggage they had now and was quite sturdy. As far as looks go, one can only say ' wow' since it was personally customised by Ben. It was a black jeep with a yellow and red stripe design with several moderations to make it look cool.

They reached the place, it was surrounded by a wall, although not as strong as the city it was still able to protect people from low tier beast invasion.

" What is this place?" Ben asked.

" Although I would like to say a city of abandoned people, people call these types of places the Free City, maybe it was based on some kind of game in the past," Conan answered.

" I have never been to one of these places," Yelena said from the outside of the car while sitting on her bike.

Conan showed the guard his traveller ID so the other two did the same and entered the city with both of their vehicles. The houses on the border were not huge buildings like the city but something like a temporary residency.

" There must be an Inn type of things, in these places, right? Man, I can't wait to fulfil one of my fantasy dreams." Ben excitedly said.

" There must be one, We can ask some locals."

Soon they stopped to ask one of the locals, they pointed toward the narrower streets so Conan hesitated at first but the local strongly recommended the inn.

Yelena drove in the front while Ben followed from behind.

" Drive carefully." Conan looked at ben from the corner of his eyes and saw his best friend staring at her. Ben came out of her daze, he had a red face because of being caught red-handed.

" She is trouble," Conan said and tapped Ben's shoulder as if giving him advice.

It was then they got into the busy streets they could see the true state of the city. There were many people in rags, beggars and injured people every 10 seconds when they were riding in their car which was being driven slowly.

People looked at the car with fascination as they have never seen something like this ever before. They asked a few more people that looked decent about the inn and finally reached the place.

" So this is what an Inn looks like " It was a four-story building with outside decorated with wood and had some guards standing outside of it.

" Conan, where do I park the car?"

" Don't ask me, I don't live here. I will go ask them first." He got off the car and walked toward the guards and asked them about they pointed towards a street where was a shelter a place with people sleeping there but there was also a parking place.

" Will everything be safe here?" Yelena asked.

" Don't worry we will take the luggage and lock everything properly, so there should not be any problems." Ben wasn't sure when saying this as he could see some people that looked like thieves.
