30. First Day of the Academy

Zion looked at the newest edition to the evolution line, and his eyes widened slightly.

'Shit... there's a form like this?" He murmured softly as he looked at it. He then glanced at the only other different remaining form, although it was just an upgrade to his All Seeing Fox form.

'That's not too surprising.' He glanced back at the 2-Tailed Fox option. He frowned slightly. He planned only to evolve a magic route, when he got two elements to 50% or more, but with the sudden appearance of this form, he kind of wanted to evolve now.

He decided to ask a few questions first, 'System. How much longer can I go without evolving?'

'Well, shit...' He frowned even more as he looked at the options again. 'System, what is the benefit of holding off the 2-Tailed Fox evolution to next time, once I've got fire up to 50%?' He asked

[[With both magic affinities at 50% or more, you're magic strength will increase exponentially, allowing you to fight for longer and do more damage.]]

'So... when is the next evolution?' He asked but was not expecting the system to answer this one. However, he was surprised when he heard the robotic, emotionless female voice of the system.

[[Host will get the option to evolve again at level 20.]]

'Level 20... I'm almost at level 11 now. And with the Academy, we will travel into the forests to fight more often. I think... I should be able to increase my fire affinity to 50% by then. Alright, I know my choice.'

Once Zion decided, he chose evolution, and the system warned him.

[[Evolution chosen. The host will be rendered unconscious for the next 3 days.]]

'Oh shit, I forgot. Wait!' He quickly shouts in his mind, causing the system to go quiet suddenly.

Not expecting it to stop, he quickly stood up and rushed to the room, 'I gotta tell Sarah I'm evolving and to leave me for a while.' He climbed back into the room and jumped up onto her bed.

He nudged her with his head, '"Sarah, Sarah, wake up for a moment."'

Sarah groaned softly and opened her eyes to look at him sleepily, "Zion...? What's up?" She yawned.

'"Sorry to wake you so suddenly, but I just wanted to tell you that I'm going to go through an evolution, which will leave me asleep for a couple of days. Don't worry about me, okay?"' He smiled at her.

Sarah nodded, "Uh huh... I won't worry..." She closed her eyes and was asleep in a few moments.

He smiled slyly, 'I doubt she'll remember... oh well.' He curled up on the end of her bed, 'Alright system. Let's continue.' As soon as he spoke, he felt his eyelids grow heavy, and he was soon unconscious.

Sarah woke up at 5 am with a wide yawn as she sat up, "Morning Zion..." She spoke through her yawn, then lightly smacked her lips as she rubbed her eyes before pausing.

Zion always replied to her morning greeting. She turned to look at him, and her eyes widened to see he had a sort of barrier of rainbow light around him as he lay on her bed.

Just as she went to touch it, she remembered Zion talking to her last night, "That wasn't a dream? Is he actually evolving? Awesome." She grinned and jumped up. She quickly got washed and dressed in the Academy uniform, then she walked to the door, pausing before she opened it. She looked at Zion and smiled at him, "Good luck evolving Zion. Wish me luck for my first day!" She giggled and left her room, the door shutting behind her with a soft click.

Sarah dropped her cheerful face, adopting a cold look as she approached the level 6 classroom. She walked in and looked around without a word. She spotted Aala in her cloak that hid her appearance from anyone she didn't wish to see in the back right corner. Ithil was sitting in front of her and was talking in a low voice with her, causing her to smile and nod.

Krakow was sitting at the front, making himself seem important to the other small group of level 6 students. They had been only one of 4 groups examined yesterday, one for each gate of the Academy. In total, 320 students were accepted. Only 30 of them had shown level 6, so only 30 kids were in this class.

Sarah had drawn attention when she walked in, but she ignored everyone and walked right to Aala and Ithil, "Morning, you two." She smiled and sat next to Aala.

Ithil looked at her and noticed Zion was gone, "Has your fox finally decided to evolve?" He asked.

Sarah giggled and nodded, "Yep. He said he would probably be a few days... I wonder what his new form will be like." She smiled up at the roof.
