Chapter 017：Una's Heartache

"Actually, I'm just an ordinary person. All I want is a simple love, but it seems that fate has other plans for me!"

Arthur spoke these words with sincerity. 

He really was just an ordinary person with no impressive background. To Judy, however, Arthur was being too modest! It was exactly as she had suspected before. Arthur had been hiding his identity to find a pure love, free from materialistic concerns. But in reality, poor people aren't deserving of love! Fairy tales are just that—fairy tales.

Meanwhile, after leaving the Japanese restaurant, Arthur returned to his dorm room feeling lost and disheartened. 

Una felt like she had truly failed this time. Not only had she been deceived by the scumbag Stan, but it also seemed that Arthur had completely given up on her. In the past, she wouldn't have cared about Arthur's opinion of her. After all, he was just a backup. If he was gone, she could just cultivate another one. Arthur and Stan weren't her only options; she had other men who could fill the gap if needed. Even though their conditions weren't great, having someone was better than no one. At least there was a "backup," right? 

But this time, she seemed to genuinely care about Arthur. Especially since he was becoming more generous, more suave, and even more masculine. She realized she might not have understood Arthur before. And with girls like Judy and Xanthe, the pretty girls in school, all actively engaging with Arthur, she began to see him as a man with "depth."

"Una, you're finally back! I discovered a huge secret I wanted to tell you, but you were out with Stan today. I thought it might be inconvenient, so I decided to wait until you got back!" Maggie said excitedly, wiggling her eyebrows.

"What secret?" Una asked, expressionless and clearly uninterested. The humiliation and pain she had suffered today were too much to handle in a short time.

"Una, do you know the real identity of 'A handsome guy smoking when lonely'?" Maggie asked.

"A handsome guy smoking when lonely... the rich guy who went viral online? The one who spent millions on a live streamer?"

"Una, you know what? Last night, I was casually scrolling through Sik Sok and saw that the most popular streamer on the platform was Judy. I was shocked! Then I found out that Judy not only topped the hourly rankings, but the rich guy who helped her was 'A handsome guy smoking when lonely!' But that's not the main point. The main point is that after following his Sik Sok account, I realized he was in my contacts. And that person is Arthur! Can you believe it? Arthur, the poor guy, is actually the rich guy spending millions online? He hid it so well! I think he lied about receiving an inheritance. His real identity must be a super-rich second-generation heir. Una, you're on the path to success! If you marry into a wealthy family, don't forget about me!"

Maggie kept talking, unable to contain her excitement. 

Una felt like she had been struck by lightning, deeply hurt by the revelation!

"What did you say? Arthur... he's 'A handsome guy smoking when lonely'?"

"It's true, Una. At first, I couldn't believe my eyes either. But the Sik Sok account link can't be wrong. And Arthur casually transferred you $50,000. Maggie suggested.

Una felt her heart being torn apart. She finally understood why Judy would go out to eat with Arthur alone. This was millions we're talking about! The millions that should have been hers. Why did it go to that bitch Judy?

It turned out the wealthy heir she had been pursuing all along was already in her grasp! This heir was even wealthier and more extravagant than she had imagined, and he was devoted to her. He was the perfect man she had always dreamed of. But she had pushed him away with her own hands.

"Arthur, why are you back so late again? We haven't seen you playing games lately. Where have you been?" asked his roommate, Jay.

"I already told you guys. I went out for dinner with Judy. Then we got bored and went shopping. She even bought me a pair of shoes," Arthur said, pointing to his new shoes with a calm expression.

"Arthur, you're lying again. Judy asked you out for dinner and bought you shoes? The more you talk, the more ridiculous it sounds!"

"Okay, you don't believe me, I won't explain. Maybe she wants to date me, who knows?"

"Damn, you really deserve a beating. Should we beat him up, guys?"

"Let's beat him up!"
