Wendy knew exactly what Hanson had meant by those words.

If she refused to listen to him, Charley would end up facing the dire consequences of her actions.

She hurriedly wrapped her arms around Charley's shoulders and hugged him tightly, then she whispered in his ear, "I'll look after dad and take good care of myself. And I'll arrange Ryan's funeral well. You be good so that I won't have to be worried for your safety. Just wait for me patiently. I will definitely come get you to me later. Trust me, alright?"

"Wendy..." Charley pulled away from her embrace and fixed his gaze on her face.

Wendy fought back her tears as she patted Charley on the head gently. Her eyes smiled up at him in reassurance.

"Vincent, why aren't you moving yet?" Hanson asked in a chilly voice.

Vincent could sense Hanson's rising anger from his tone. So, he quickly replied in a respectful manner, "Understood."

He approached Charley from behind him and said in a subdued voice, "Mr. Charley, let's go."
