Ch 30: Conspiracy & Training

Inside Cleria's office, she and her 'Queen' Rebecca were talking about the latest rumours in the Underworld.

Cleria Belial is a very curious woman. Due to that personality, she has always liked to hear rumours and gossips, no matter the source, after all, for her; a good rumour must always contain a part of the truth. Otherwise, she will just ignore it or at least save that information for other occasion.

Some people find that characteristic of hers quite troublesome, however, she never divulgates information about her friends and family, because she respects their privacy.

"Then, Becky. What did you find out?" Cleria asked with sparkles in her eyes, obviously curious about the information.

However, Rebecca had a serious expression on her face, making Cleria felt a little cautious about what her friend found.

She knows her friend's personality. Rebecca could be considered as a serious but funny person. She may act serious during work but there are occasion when she jokes with everyone. Nevertheless, this time, she didn't seem to be in the mood for jokes.

"This is more serious than what we thought at the beginning." Said Rebecca while handed over to Cleria some documents.

Cleria started reading the documents, while sitting in her chair. Whit each sheet that she read her frown became more visible while her eyes were being filled with anger.

"Is this information accurate?" She asked.

"I got this information from a former Bael member after some 'persuasion'." Rebecca's eyes had a dangerous glimmer. She seemed as angry as her friend was.

"We must be sure. This information is capable to initiate a second civil war in the Underworld." Said Cleria with a severe tone. "To think that the Great King Faction would have the guts to do such thing. Those fucking greedy bastards!" With her fist, she smashed her desk making some cracks on its surface.

The information that she read in the files really shocked her to the core. In them, she found out that the Bael Clan, which is considered as the ruler family of the entire Underworld, and their associates, were using especial artefacts created by Ajuka Belzeebub, called 'King Pieces'. They used them to maintain themselves on the top of the power, while preventing low-class devils to elevate their ranks.

To those who doesn't know how important are the 'King Pieces' then allow me to make a brief introduction to 'Evil Pieces' and 'Rating Games'.

The Evil Pieces are an invention created by one of the four Satans, Ajuka Belzeebub, as a solution to the decreasing number of devils after the Great War between the three factions and the Civil War in the Underworld. Due to the low rate of births in their race, the devils had to make use of the Evil Pieces to convert humans into reincarnated devils.

However, such artefact are only given to high-class devil in a set of 16 pieces, which each one resembles to a chess piece.

Now, about the Rating Games, this was an event created by the devils to solve disputes between their race to avoid unnecessary deaths and elevate their ranks in a competition.

These competitions are between high-class devils with possession of Evil Pieces and their peerage.

The peerage in short are the reincarnated devils converted by the power of the Evil Pieces, each peace with its own ability, and each peerage address their leader as their 'King'. However, there is not a King Piece, or at least that is what is supposed to be.

"Rebecca, make sure to confirm this information until you are 100% sure that it's real." Said Cleria with a serious tone, no longer with her usual joking behaviour.

Rebecca nodded and bowed in response. "Yes, my 'King'."

Then a grey magic circle appeared under Rebecca's feet and at the next moment, she disappeared from the room. She tele-transported herself to the Underworld.

After Rebecca left, Cleria sighed heavily. She didn't expected that during her usual routine of sending people to search for rumours and gossips she would end up finding a dark conspiracy between the high ranks of devil's society, excluding the four Satans of course.

"I wonder if my cousin is safe?" She asked herself while looking at the starry sky

There were two silhouettes clashing between each other. Each time the silhouettes clashed sparkles of energy were shoot out.

The identities of both shadows were Albert and Zircon, fighting against each other. Well, it would correct to say that it was really a spar. However, with each punch that Zircon received from the black robed priest, many of his bones would feel like if they are about to break.

In the next moment, Albert launched a powerful punch infused with mana towards Zircon's chest.

"*Cough*" Zircon coughed due to the impact, almost leaving him without air.

If it weren't due to his physique and because he used his mana to protect his body, then by now he would had suffered something worse than three broken ribs.

However, he didn't have time to rest. Another punch was launched towards his face.

Using his hands cover with a barrier then the result would have been ugly. Nevertheless, the impact made him fly towards a near tree, and when his body collided with it, he ended up colliding with other two trees, dividing them in half almost.

After hitting the third tree his body finally stopped, but his insides felt numb and like he was hit by a bus. Which it would have been true if it weren't because the true cause was the man that was giving him a smug smile.

Alas, Zircon got up with eyes burning with enthusiasm. A blue light started to manifest itself in Zircon's body, looking like a blood veins. His muscles bulged, and the glimmer in his eyes started to shine even brighter with their respective colours.

This time, it was his turn to attack. With a kick aiming to his head trying to make him fall unconscious. However, it was blocked with the back of Albert's hand, and then, with the same hand, he took Zircon from his ankle, and then he throw him towards the ground.

However, before his body could collide with the floor, he turned on his {Ogre mode} and then buried his claw in the ground preventing him to fall. Then, he quickly changed to {Hound mode} and the two wolf heads aimed their fangs towards Albert, trying to bite him. But he quickly retreated, not before casting a mine spell which exploded under Zircon, leaving a cloud of dust and dirt after the explosion.

"I should congratulate you; this time you endured 30 minutes against me." Said Albert with a smug smile.

"*Cough**Cough*. Still, it hurts a lot."

"Hahaha. You know what they say: 'with no pain, no gain'."

"You are right."

*Boooom!*

An explosion sounded in the other side of the yard, but even then, both of them didn't show any expression of worry.

"They must be about to finish." Said Albert.

"I didn't know before that the training for support magic could be that intense." Said Zircon with a wry smile.

"My wife always says that if you want support others, first you most support yourself."

"You two are a couple of monsters." Zircon joked.

"Not like you. Hahaha." Albert returned the joke.

Zircon once again smile wryly. It wasn't a secret between them that he and Zircon were a couple. Some of them may had found it a little weird, nut others were more open minded like Cleria, Sophia and Albert. That's why Yuria and Zircon always get along with these three people.

*BOOOOM!*

"Kyaaaa!" A female scream sounded.

"They finished." Said Albert.

"I thought that Yuria would scream louder like the other time. I think she is getting accustomed." Said Zircon.

"Let's go to see our wives."

Zircon nodded, and both of them walked towards the explosion direction.
