Down Time

I took time off to get things back in order. I visited my parents and hung out with Kat and Jay a bit but most of my time was spent with Fig. He discovered music from my world and fell in love. He loved sitting in while I created new music and I loved having a partner but my free time was spent training more and thinking about "what ifs". Call me crazy but I felt like I was being watched and it was starting to get under my skin.

I closed all the windows as the sun went down and sat on the couch letting out a deep breath. My brows come together as I hear a thumping noise. Confused I sit up and look down the hallway. "Fig?" I call out but get nothing. I push up from the couch and follow the noise quietly. I found myself in front of my bathroom and because the door was cracked I pushed it all the way open to find Fig sliding from one end of the bathtub to the other on a bar of soap.

He used his fluffy tail to push himself as he slid from one side to the other while stuffing Cheetos in his large cheeks. "What are you doing?" I ask trying not to laugh and failing horribly. Because he hadn't heard me come in he jumps and falls off his bar of soap. "Jeez Syn, could you at least knock?" Fig says jumping out of the bathtub. "Oh no don't let me interrupt... whatever this is," I say laughing. I do believe the little guy was embarrassed. "Yeah, yeah laugh it up," Fig says

I scoop him up and give him a hug "I'm sorry if I scared you Fig but it looked like you were having fun." He looked a little sheepish and says "It is.. you wanna try?" I blink a few times and then smile "Yes, let's do this!" We both race to the kitchen and grab the dish soap while filling a large bowl of water. I pour the water on the floor and grab the soap while pushing all the furniture off to the sides. I could never do this on carpet so it's a good thing I have wooden floors.

After soaping up the water that ran from my kitchen all the way into the living room I strip down to my underwear as Fig grabs his soap bar from the bathroom. I crank up the music as Fig makes it back. He's as pumped as I am. "Are you ready for this?" I yell over the music as I flip off the lights and turn on the black lights and disco ball light. (Yes I have everything I need to have an awesome party) Things have been so crazy lately I just want to let loose and have fun.

"YES!" Fig yells and takes a running start before jumping on his bar of soap. He flew through the house laughing the whole way. I laugh and take off running as I slid across the floor behind him. The soap was mixing with the water making everything bubble up and slippery. I've never heard Fig laugh like this and it warmed me from head to toe. We began racing and losing horribly because we couldn't keep straight but laughed the whole time. Fig learned how to do doughnuts while sliding and I tried to do the same.

I took a running start and sat on my butt trying to figure out how to do a doughnut. According to Fig, it was in the speed. I leaned back and tried to turn and managed to do a small one. I get up and try again with Fig starting again with me. We both take off running as fast as we can and slide away. I slide past Fig and suddenly felt power.. a lot of it. I look in front of me and to my horror, Rune shifts into my living room. I froze.. well mentally anyway. Physically I was still sliding.. straight to him.

He only looked momentarily confused before he caught sight of me sliding to him in nothing but my underwear to my embarrassment. He opened his legs as I tried (and unsuccessfully) to stop. I think the universe just wants to keep screwing me over because I slid all the way to him and came to a pitiful stop between his long legs. He looked down at me with amusement. I didn't dare move. Fig came sliding by while doing little doughnuts completely unaware of who just popped into our living room and judging by how many times he's been spinning.. it'll be a while before he can see straight again.

"Hello love, did you really think it would be that easy to get away from me?" He says as his golden eyes take me in. I suddenly remember I have a brain and try to shift away but it was like he knew what I was thinking and quickly grabbed my ankle. I give him a nervous smile and say "Heeey Rune.. long time.. What brings you to my world?" I laugh weakly as Fig runs into something knocking it over somewhere behind Rune. "You," he says staring at me with those deep golden eyes.
