Requiem of Souls (Original)

Did you ever wonder that there might be another world? a world where magic exists? A world where dragons, devils, gods and more. Well, our Mc thought that those worlds were but the fantasy of crazed writers, and would only read about them in books and stories. However, he was transported to such a world, he and his classmates. A world where the laws made by men were easily bent, where life itself was not worth the pebbles on the roads. Betrayed by his classmates and offered as an unholy sacrifice, Daiki finds himself in hell, bound to eternal torment and destitution, forced to undergo hideous torments for sins he has yet to commit, Daiki swears to bring down the ones responsible over his demise. The story 'truly' starts with the journey to hell and its seven circles, it is but the beginning of an event that will shake the heavens. "I shall bring the divine to their knees and call upon the requiem...For it is my task...and my revenge." (World mythology is included in this story, from Christian: like the fallen angels. The four horsemen the princes of hell, even Celtic, Indian, African, Greek, Hebrew, Egyptian and more. A lot of mythologies have been included in this story to add to its complexity and beauty, I hope you are a fan of old myths, this story is filled with them) Before you start reading the reviews i advise you to read for yourself first, positive or negative reviews might give you a wrong pre based idea on the story, many great stories in this website have horrible reviews and many poor stories have positive ones, you are the judge of your choice don't let others make you refuse a story just because their opinion of it is different of yours. Btw I am a non-native speaker and have self-taught myself English. So if you find mistakes please help me with proofing.

The first Job

"Next!" said the captain.

Just one more left.

The captain was giving every single one of us a chance at sparring with him. So far none could even manage to land a strike on him. Not even Yuji or Renji with his giant frame. They both got whipped. I even felt joyful at the whipping, but they both still kept fighting back.

The captain had a system of sorts going on. Once he sparred against someone, it would take a moment for him to gauge out his or her strength. He divided us into three groups. Those that can hold a stick and can be better at using the sword than magic, to the left and they were fifteen persons.

Those that cannot and are better oriented towards magic to the right, A knight who brought a crystal orb and asked everyone to place their hands on it did this.

The captain was picking swordsmen without the need of that thing, and amazingly all those that the orb had shown that they lack the magical potential to become sorcerers were from those fifteen that the captain chose.

The ones that were better oriented towards magic were grouped and went with the knight holding the orb. The flat chest and Misaka were with them.

The girl with the pony-tail haircut-Misaka's friend- held her stick with two hands pointing the tip forward like a professional martial artist…she looked like she knew what she was doing.

The captain looked a bit surprised.

They both waited for each other to make the first move and the captain was the first to do so after he grinned a bit.

He charged at her fast…too fast actually that even our class representative was clearly surprised to see a human moving at that speed. She, however, still managed to parry the first swing of the captain and retaliate with a fast thrust that met empty air.

The captain sent a downward cut, as he appeared at her left, yet she still managed to gracefully sidestep it and instantly counter with a fast swing followed by a low leg sweep. Her hair was following her every movement acting like some sort of a distraction while she confidently repositioned herself after her double attack missed the target who was a bit far.

"Very good. You show potential young lady. What is your name?" said the captain

"Haruka Kusanagi." She said

So Haruka is her name huh…

"Alright Miss Haruka, you will be joining my crew. Now every one of you will follow your designated teacher and follow their every command. We will be training you and shape you to have a better chance against the devil king that you will one day be facing."

Yeah…remember when I said that we were divided into three groups well. One was led by the captain that had about fifteen no…sixteen now with Haruka joining Yuji and Renji were there too.

The knight mage had taken twenty to have them learn sorcery and magic…as for the rest –the useless ones… And yes I was with them- we were assigned this lazy looking old ass of a man that wore ragged brown clothes.

They were full of holes and smelled like piss, A homeless guy would have more dignity than this old man that even his beard looked alive. Probably from fleas and some other things that I don't want to think about nor do I want to describe…

The man led us to an underground passage under one of the church's walls.

It stunk, smelled like a three-week-old corpse of a camel that was under the sun, stuffed with rotten cheese, shit and piss in the mix…it was fucking awful.

Most of us who were down these sewers –we were about ten- with the old man included, felt disgusted, yet the old man didn't seem to be bothered by the smell. I think that he adapted to it or he had lost his sense of smell.

After a few more turns and more walking under these endless looking sewers, the old man finally grunted, pointing at a door near a wall.

"Are we supposed to go in there?" said Haru, and yes, he was an invalid just like me. At least I know someone here.

The old man once again grunted while nodding…I think he is mute.

Once Haru opened the door, we saw a room inside that had too many broomsticks and rags.

"What are we supposed to do here?" said Haru.

The old man sighed

He went inside took a broom and shoved it onto Haru's chest.

He wants us all to pick these brooms.

Once we all did, he walked forward first. And grunted again signaling us to follow him.

We all had a bucket with a rag and a broomstick…I think I know what is going on here…but let's just see how things unfold.

The old man reached a wall where there was some sort of water mechanism that was pouring fresh water from within the wall.

He placed his bucket there and waited for the water to fill it once he pressed on a small piston stuck to the wall.

Once he did so, he grabbed Haru's bucket from his hand and replaced the filled bucket.

He did so for the nine of us and then grunted once again after each of us took their own bucket.

We then began cleaning the sewers…
