Phew, That Was Close!

Adelaine headed to Blanc's office.

The sale of body-strengthening pills is no joke.

This pill is the very foundation of their military and it is one of the reasons why they won their last battle even while they were vastly outnumbered.

"Big bro? Are you there? There's something I need to discuss with you."

A few moments later, Alenna opened the door.

"W-W-Why are you in b-big bro's office?! A-Aren't you o-one of the new settlers?"

Adelaine said while blushing and rudely pointing at Alenna.

"Oh! Chairwoman Adelaine I suppose? I became Mayor Blanc's secretary a few days ago."

"S-Secretary? T-That doesn't explain why you're in Big bro's office! Speak! What atrocious deeds are you doing here with my big bro?!"

After getting a hint of what Adelaine is saying, Alenna immediately blushed and explained.

"C-C-Chairwoman Adelaine! I-I'm not doing anything of that sort with the mayor! My office was set up here at the corner so that I can consult the mayor and be able to finish my work faster."

Blanc couldn't stand the indecent thoughts of these two any longer so he stood up from his chair to receive Adelaine.

"Hey Adelaine! Don't be rude! She's just my secretary. We're not doing any indecent acts in the office. Also, do you think I have the guts to cheat on Helena? She'll skin me alive!"

Blanc reprimanded Adelaine and explained to her that he wasn't doing any lecherous acts inside the office.

"S-Sorry big bro! I was just shocked after seeing a woman open the door."

"It's fine as long as you understand. So? You said you have something important to discuss with me?"

"Oh! Yes, this is regarding a business deal. You have to make the final call for this one."

"I see, Alenna, can you leave the room for a bit?"

"Of course, mayor."

Alenna left the room quickly. 

"This is regarding the sale of body-strengthening pills. If I remember correctly, this pill is the very foundation of our strong military."

"Wouldn't it be bad if I sell this like common merchandise to the Petaldream Chamber of commerce?"

Blanc was stupefied. He was busy the past few days so he left the matter of the business deals in the hands of Adelaine.

Good thing she didn't disappoint.

It would indeed be bad if they sold the body-strengthening pills at this point in time. 

Not only would it immediately attract the attention of the royal families, but they would also be letting go of their only advantage.

If the royal armies stormed their town to demand the body-strengthening pills or even the recipe, they would have no way to defend themselves.

The military is not yet strong enough to engage in nation-level wars.

Blanc was drenched in cold sweat upon thinking of the consequences of his overlooking this matter.

Fortunately for him, Adelaine is really smart and has already thought of the consequences. She really saved him this time.

"Adelaine, great job! I've overlooked this matter completely. You really saved me and the town this time, thanks."

After unexpectedly getting praise from his beloved big bro Blanc, Adelaine's ears were clapping in glee. She felt proud that she made the correct decision.

"Hehehe, aren't I the best chairwoman?"

"Hahahahaha looks like it! My little Adelaine has grown up huh? Time sure flies by fast."

Blanc praised Adelaine wholeheartedly and he patted her on the head.

It had been a long time since she got a pat on the head from his big bro so Adelaine was really happy.

After a few moments, Blanc told Adelaine to refrain from selling the body-strengthening pills for now. They shall only sell the pills to their allied kingdoms in the future.

Although Adelaine wanted to make manager Jason happy by selling him the body-strengthening pills, she knew that this was not a simple matter of earning more money and making the business partner happy.

This involves the safety of her town so she immediately informed Manager Jason about Blanc's decision.

Fortunately, manager Jason and the Petaldream Chamber of commerce are really sincere about befriending them.

Manager Jason told Adelaine that she shouldn't worry about him and that he understands so the business deal talks finally came to a close.

Just before manager Jason's caravan left, Blanc instructed Adelaine to ask manager Jason if they sell warhorse breeding pairs.

Cavalry is one of the most important units that a kingdom can have. A cavalry can turn the tide of the battle around and decimate a whole troop of enemies if used correctly.

This is also the reason why Blanc couldn't engage in field battles. It is essential to have a cavalry unit in a field battle.

Unfortunately for them, although the Petaldream Chamber of commerce has warhorses, they cannot sell them outside the Kingdom of Terravalle.

The Terravalle Royal family strictly monitored war resources such as the warhorses. 

They could only try to look for other ways to procure warhorses.

A few days passed since manager Jason's caravan left.

There were many new settlers joining them as days went by.

It seems that their main population problem is slowly being resolved.

Blanc is currently stuck over the warhorse problem though. He ordered the soldiers to look for warhorses inside the Forest of Echoes but all they found were mutated wild horses.

There was no way they could use these mutated wild horses as warhorses since they were a bit too violent and untameable.

Fortunately, Blanc was quick-witted. If there are mutated wild horses around, then there might be regular wild horses!

Blanc quickly ordered the gatherer squad and the warriors to explore the whole gloomy plains and search for wild horses.

Three days passed since Blanc ordered his men to look for wild horses and Blanc was starting to get anxious. 

There were still no reports about the wild horses.

This would affect his development plans greatly if they can't find a source of horses.

Luckily for Blanc, a few hours later that day, one of the gatherers enthusiastically reported that they found a herd of horses and most of the men had started taming the wild horses.

Although the population of wild horses is limited, as long as they can tame some, they would be able to breed their own wild horses.

Blanc quickly headed to the carpenters' headquarters and asked Kirk if he could spare a few men to start building large stables.

Finally! His army development plan is slowly coming to fruition.
