Chapter 8: Let Me Handle My Niece

A/N: Sorry guys, it's the end of my school quarter and tests were piling up, so I couldn't upload for a while. I now have time, so I wrote a quick chapter.

Veldanual's POV

Sigh, I am really bored. Milim went followed the idiot trio to hunt some beast, and Rimuru is doing his work, so that leaves my all alone. To relieve my boredom, I am reading mangas as usual. While I was reading, I suddenly sensed Charybdis in the forest.

"So it's time huh"

I went out of my house and went on a stroll around the city. After a while, I ran into Fuze and Rimuru who is carried by the big-breasted Shion. We chatted for a bit, then Milim walked in with the idiot trio behind her. It seems that they finish their hunt. Then suddenly Shion let go of Rimuru and hold her sword. She got into a fighting stance.

"Who's there?!" She said

Benimaru and Soei appeared out of nowhere and ready themselves. Then Trya, Treyni's younger sister, popped out in front of us. She has this evil aura surrounding her. She introduced herself and asked for help.

" I am afraid it is an emergency. Charybdis, a calamity-class monster, has revived itself. The power wielded by this great spirit is akin to a demon lord's. My sisters are keeping it immobile for now, but we are hopelessly outclassed. Plus…it appears the great spirit is seeking out this land. Charybdis is a tyrant of the skies; ground-based forces can do little against it. I came here to advise you that you must solidify your defenses and prepare some aerial war power."

The fatigue was clear on her face as she explained.

Tension quickly filled the air. Surprisingly, Fuze was the first to react—he was stunned to near silence the moment he saw Traya ("A dryad?!" he had shouted), but the mention of Charybdis's name got his brain in gear again.

The blood drained from his face as he shouted. "Charybdis?! Oh, man, if it's really revived, that's a bigger threat than any demon lord. Unlike those guys, you can't even reason with this thing. It's classified as a calamity, but I'd say it's safe to assume it's a full-on disaster if anything…"

As he put it, its strength was demon lord–caliber, but instead of leading an army, it just went around by itself wreaking havoc. A sort of unintelligent monster, to put it another way.

However, thanks to its unique Summon Monster skill, it could call out schools of megalodons, a large, shark-type monster, anytime it wanted. The otherworldly creatures dissipated after a period of time, once the magicules giving its body physical form were exhausted, but even so, they were an A-minus force that couldn't be ignored. What's more, Charybdis could summon ten or so at once, making even its servant beasts a formidable presence.

Everyone quickly went to the meeting room to discuss the upcoming threat. Rimuru dragged me into the meeting for some reason. Oh well, I plan to save Charybdis anyways.

The discussion went on for a while. Milim said that she would fight Charybdis, but Shion refused. Rimuru seeing this turned to me.

" Rimuru," I said Rimuru's non-existence eyes widened with hope. I continued.

" I will fight Charybdis"

" You will?" Rimuru asked almost crying from joy.

" Yea, idiot Phobio is being used as a host and I plan to save Charybdis anyways."

" Phobio? How do you know" Rimuru asked

" I sensed it of course. Your subordinates are more than enough to fight the Megs, so no need to call for backup. I will deal with Charybdis. You and Milim can enjoy the show." I said Shion tried to decline, but I made my statement final.

<<Time-skip>>

Right now, Rimuru's subordinates are fighting the megalodons. They are quite impressive, not gonna lie. Rimuru also used his newly made unique skill: Gluttony on the scales. They also tried to fight Charybdis, but utterly failed. After they finish killing all the megalodons, I stepped in. Everyone went to the sidelines, watching eagerly.

I flew in front of Charybdis and lifted on hand. I used Azathoth to separate Phobio from it. Phobio fell, but Rimuru caught him. Everyone on the ground except for Milim were beyond shock. They couldn't even scratch it, while I defeated it without breaking a sweat. He went back to Milim while holding Phobio on the collar and continue to watch me. I smirk and decided to give them a little show.

Stilling floating in the same spot as before, I created a body in front of me. The body turns out to have long golden hair with smooth tanned skin. I make her resemble Veldora and her species a dragonoid cuz why not? I quickly put Charybdis's soul inside it. I gave her an Ego, so she won't be a mindless monster. It looks like she is still asleep. As all this happens, we were still floating in the air. Everyone was more shocked, Fuze almost fainted, and Milim look at the scene with curious eyes. After I saw all of their reactions, I smiled and loudly declared.

" From this day forward, you shall be known as Velora Tempest, Child of the Storm Dragon!"

When I said that, her body started to shine bright golden. It's still not dramatic enough. I got an idea and let the Voice of the World declare her rebirth.

[Announcement. Charybdis has been reborn as the second dragonoid, Velora Tempest, Child of the Storm Dragon!] It only declared the area around us because I didn't want the world to panic.

After hearing this everyone's jaw literally broke off, Fuze died-I mean passed out, and Milim is excited knowing that she now has a cousin. After the light died down, I could see a beautiful 14 years old girl in front of me. Velora opened her eyes and looked at me.

"U-Uncle"
