Walking out to the arena I see someone I recognize from my generation. Sophie Herrera, the one who was supported by the league and given a Bulbasor as her starter. I don't know her personality all that well, but since she is one of the few people of my generation supported by the league. Then this battle might actually be different, I didn't realize it was her until I saw her. Her name slipped my mind.

"Please send out your first Pokémon," the referee says seeing us standing in our positions.

As usual, I send our Mamoswine, with Sophie sending out a Poliwrath. Poliwrath is a blue, bipedal amphibian Pokémon with a round body and muscular arms. It has bulbous eyes that protrude from the top of its head and its belly is covered by a white and black swirl. There appear to be white gloves on its hands, and it has rounded digit-less feet.

"Begin!" the referee says seeing everyone ready.

"Buff up!" Sophie says to Poliwrath who immediately uses Bulk Up and Amneisa. Then, it begins charging up more fighting-type energy.

"Mamoswine, buff up!" I say at the same time as Mamoswine uses Amneisa and then Mist. He also then begins charging up some ice-type energy.

Poliwrath rushes Mamoswine with a heavy amount of fighting-type energy gathered around his right arm. While Mamoswine released a Blizzard that took over the arena. The Blizzard raged on, and without my powers, I would have no idea what was happening right now.

As Mamoswine released the Blizzard, Poliwrath grunted in pain but pushed through the Blizzard still quickly closing the distance. Then threw a right hook that appeared to have all his weight behind it. However, Mamoswine was unable to dodge the hit, so he blocked it with his one tusk. The tusk though shattered on impact as the fist struck it.

Mamoswine quickly gathered more ice-type energy and bit Poliwrath who cried out in pain. Poliwrath was still able to land a hit on Mamoswine with what appeared to be Brick Break. Poliwrath smashed Mamoswine right in the face, making Mamoswine cry out in pain and stumble back while dropping Poliwrath.

At this point, the Blizzard died down for everyone to see both Pokémon injured, though Mamoswine was doing better taking only one hit, even though it was super effective too. Mamoswine then rushed Poliwrath intending to smash into him with all his weight, using Heavy Slam.

Poliwrath seeing the charging Mamoswine, quickly gathered more fight-type energy. Then quickly sidestepped Mamoswine like a Bullfighter, just as Mamoswine passed nearby Poliwrath swept out his feet from under Mamoswine causing him to collapse face-first into the ground.

Mamoswine stood up, but I could see the slight limp in his hind leg. The two Pokémon stared at one another for a split second, catching their breaths, before quickly moving again. Poliwrath gathering fighting-type energy charged Mamoswine, who was meeting the charge head-on.

Once again Poliwrath sidestepped Mamoswine like a bullfighter, but Mamoswine was prepared this time. Instead of letting Poliwrath land another strike, Mamoswine released a point-blank Earthquake that struck Poliwrath who was about to strike Mamoswine.

Poliwrath cried out in pain as the seismic energy tore through his body making him seize up from the pain. Mamoswine capitalized on this moment and used Heavy Slam on Poliwrath sending him back several feet as the sound of broken bones was heard. Poliwrath pushed himself up but was struggling to do so, with a limp broken arm at his side.

Poliwrath then appeared to be gathering all of his remaining energy but as a water-type. Mamoswine, seeing this quickly gathered his ice-type energy. The two Pokémon released their moves at the same time. Huge ice spears headed toward the exhausted and unmoving Poliwrath who was struck by the spears collapsing onto the ground as they hit him.

At the same time, Poliwrath released a Hydro Cannon that shot toward Mamoswine faster than he could react. The blast of water struck Mamoswine who cried out in pain and stumbled back before falling to the ground. Mamoswine though still went up and shook off the water, but we can see that it left a harsh bruise on him as the fur was torn from his body at the spot struck.

"Poliwrath is unable to battle! The winners are Lucas and Mamoswine! Please send out your next Pokémon," the referee says seeing Mamoswine still standing and a passout Poliwrath.

'Seems Poliwrath was just about to break into King Rank. That and it appeared to have gotten a good amount of resources too,' I think seeing that Mamoswine, for the first time this tournament was injured. Just not too heavily, which is why I am letting him battle until he can not anymore.

Sophie then sent out a Tauros, which is a quadrupedal, bovine Pokémon. It is covered in light brown fur with a thick, darker brown mane around the neck. It has a rounded muzzle with a dark brown nose, small, triangular eyes, three gray bumps running vertically down its forehead, and a pair of curved, gray horns growing from atop its head. Each of its three black tails has a tuft of fur on the end, and there is a single gray hoof on each foot.

"Begin!" the referee says. From what I can see Tauros like Poliwrath is Duke Rank too.

"Buff up and be ready to dodge!" Sophie says to her Pokémon. He then uses Work Up twice in a row.

"Mamoswine, end this as quickly as possible," I say at the same time, with Mamoswine immediately using Blizzard.

'Follow up the Blizzard with an Earthquake,' I say to Mamoswine through our link right after.

Tauros sees Mamoswine release a huge storm again and quickly forms an invisible barrier of complete protection around himself. This lets him bypass the Blizzard, but just as the Blizzard ends, Mamoswine rears up and slams the ground sending an Earthquake his way.

The bubble of protection disappears right as the Blizzard dies down. Then Tauros is struck by the Earthquake making him cry out in pain with blood dripping down his nose. Mamoswine uses this opportunity to charge down Tauros. With rage, Tauros meets Mamoswine's charge head-on.

"Tauros stop!!" Sophie says seeing Tauros meeting Mamoswine head-on.

However, Tauros appeared to be too enraged to listen as he charged down Mamoswine like the raging bull he was. Mamoswine met the attack smashing into Tauros who smashed into Mamoswine at the same time. Mamoswine, being stronger and much larger easily broke through Tauros's attack and sent him flying back into the invisible barrier as it cracked due to the strength behind the strike.

Tauros fell to the ground unmoving, as Mamoswine let out a roar of triumph beating two Pokémon back to back, while even being injured. The referee announced our win and asked for Sophie to send out her next Pokémon. Sophie stared down Mamoswine and me for a few seconds with anger in her eyes before throwing out her next Poké ball.

A Donphan appeared, which is a gray, proboscid Pokémon with a thick, black band of hide running down the length of its back and extending to the tip of its long trunk. When this Pokémon curls up, the band resembles a car tire. This tough hide prevents regular attacks from inflicting even a scratch. A pair of white tusks, which are smaller on the female, extend from the corners of its mouth. It has thin, elongated ears held out almost perpendicular to its body. Its four short legs are each encircled with a broken, black band and have three toes.

"Begin!" the referee says as the two elephant-looking Pokémon stare down one another, even though Mamoswine is about three times Donphan's size.

"Go all out, now!" Sophie says as Donphan gathers steel-type energy before rolling up into a ball and heading toward Mamoswine.

'Mamoswine, this should be her second to last Pokémon. So just beat him and then the last, we can do this. Use as much as Ice type moves for this one as you can,' I say right as Sophie is commanding Donphan.

Mamoswine gathers for another Blizzard again as Donphan rushes him. Then Mamoswine releases the Blizzard that pelts Donphan harshly. The smaller Pokémon pushes through the pain intending to strike Mamoswine. Mamoswine using the Blizzard quickly reforms his broken tusk as Donphan reaches him.

Mamoswine stops the giant rolling steel ball with his tusks but is pushed back a few feet. His injured leg from earlier gives out from underneath him, almost allowing Donphan to push through his block. With a roar of defiance, Mamoswine forces his injured leg to work picks up Donphan with his tusks, and launches him in the air away.

Donphan panics as he is lifted and thrown away, and everyone stares at the crazy feat. They know Mamoswine is strong, but even for being small, Donphan is a very heavy Pokémon. Just as Donphan was launched Mamoswine, gathers his ice-type energy for Icicle Crash. Sending huge spears of ice toward the now fallen Donphan who smashed into the ground causing a small crater on impact.

Just as Donphan stood up the spears of ice reached him smashing into his body. With two of them breaking through his thick skin and making him bleed profusely. However, the smaller elephant Pokémon appeared to be very stubborn as he struggled to push himself up. Though before Mamoswine can finish him off, Sophie withdraws Donphan.

"Trainer Sophie withdrew Donphan! The winners are Lucas and Mamoswine! Please send out your next Pokémon," the referee says seeing this happen as Sophie looks over to us with an even more anger-filled look.

Without a word, Sophie sends out her next and last Pokémon, as it was her starter and ace, Venusaur. Venusaur is a squat, quadrupedal amphibian Pokémon with bumpy, blue-green skin. It has small, circular red eyes and a short, blunt snout. Its mouth is wide with two pointed teeth in the upper jaw and four in the lower jaw. On top of its head are small, pointed ears with reddish-pink insides. It has three clawed toes on each foot. The bud on its back has bloomed into a large pink, white-spotted flower. The flower is supported by a thick, brown trunk surrounded by green fronds.

"Begin!" the referee says.

"Mamoswine, end this match!" I say as Mamoswine releases another roar before charging up his moves.

"Venusaur take down this piece of shit!" Sophie says cursing on live TV and in front of the world showing just how angry she is with us.
