After leaving behind God, I opened my eyes to see I was in a bed with the morning sun peeking through the windows of my room. A second after I registered where I was, all my memories of my current life flooded my head. I was a Ten-year-old child and the only child of Blaine Brinton, the gym leader of Cinnabar Island. It seems he found me outside his house one night with just a note saying my name, which is now Lucas Brinton.
These past Ten years, I've been like any other Ten-year-old kid except I was a fast learner and slightly more mature than most kids. Though, now that my real memories are back, it seems I am going to have to hide my maturity somewhat. During my time here I've been homeschooled by my father. Thankfully, I'd rather not have to go to school with a bunch of kids.
This world is vastly different than my last one, not only does it have Pokémon but the world itself seems to be the size of Jupiter from my last world. The world is vastly unexplored with many new discoveries becoming known every day. The world population is much smaller than my last one too, since humans seem to live much longer and are much 'hardier' than Earth.
Every year here is like ten years back on Earth, with humans even living around three hundred-plus years here, which would make them able to live over three thousand Earth years. It also seems humans have evolved to be much more hardy from the early ages of Pokémon attacking humans. However, it is not as common anymore due to trainers and the knowledge now known by humans.
Not only that, but apparently some humans have psychic abilities or the ability to use aurora. Aurora is something that some humans have that lets them turn their bodies into almost invincible fighting machines. While psychic abilities let those do almost anything, that a psychic type Pokémon can do. However, it all depends on if someone can use it and just how talented they are in that area.
Seems I have psychic abilities, which my father is aware of but not sure how to help me train them. Other than the basics that he learned from others, he is not aware of the more intrusive training methods. As it seems I would need to go to a special school for that, or he would have to hire a teacher from a family that specializes in psychic abilities.
Outside of that apparently kids are not sent out to become trainers at ten years old like it was shown in my past life. Kids have to go to school, or in my case be homeschooled and once they reach sixteen, they may take a test to determine if they are suitable to become trainers.
Everyone grows up wanting to be a trainer, as they get special benefits, and popularity, and are paid a yearly allowance depending on their trainer rank. At the same time, they are expected to help the Pokémon league when they are called on. Sometimes they defend a town or city that is under attack by Pokémon or criminal organizations. Most trainers are used to defend researchers who go out into the wilderness to explore and learn more about the world we are in.
When someone passes the trainer qualification test, they are made a 'Rookie Trainer'. Once a Rookie Trainer, they then need to go around their League's territory to earn gym badges. This is like the final test of a trainer, not every trainer beats all the gyms as they get progressively harder each time. This shows the league which trainers are better than others and allows them to spend more resources on helping the better trainers succeed.
Once a Trainer beats all the gyms in their league they become a 'Advanced Trainer', which has many benefits like decent pay, discounts at stores, and many other things. However, at the same time, they are expected to help the league when called upon. Once a trainer reaches this Rank, they must train at least three Pokémon to the Earl/Countess Rank if they want to progress their career as a trainer.
Once they do this they become an 'Ace Trainer' which is a rare rank among the average trainers, only one in a thousand trainers reach this rank. These trainers are sent on missions by the league to perform various tasks, like guarding researchers or exploring new areas before researchers are sent out.
To progress further, a Trainer has to train at least three Pokémon to the Duke/Duchess Rank. Then they are considered an 'Elite Trainer' which is on par with the average Elite Four member of a League territory. These trainers are very rare, as only one in a hundred thousand trainers reach this rank. My father is in this rank, as all the gym leaders are around the Elite Trainer Rank. Though my Father just had his main Pokémon, Magmar, reach the King Rank.
These trainers can then challenge the elite four of their league and depending on how well they do, they could take the place of the member they beat. They could also challenge a Gym leader to a battle to take over their gym if they specialize in that same type of Pokémon. If they just remain as an Elite trainer without challenging the Elite Four or a gym leader that is fine, though they are not given the same pay or benefits as the Elite Four members or gym leaders.
Most Elite Four members though have two Pokémon in the King/Queen Rank. Which makes challenging them much harder, since all the gym leaders only have one in that Rank. Training Pokémon to a new rank takes a lot of time, effort, and money due to the materials needed to help them reach any Rank, the higher the Rank the more it takes. This is why the Elite Trainers that reach this rank stay there and retire at this Rank eventually.
However, once in a while, you will get someone who has the skills, determination, and capability to reach the 'Champion Trainer' Rank. Which is a one in a ten million chance of finding someone with this talent. These trainers are extremely sought after by every League, since they are so Rare and help the League when it comes to negotiating with other leagues. Every couple of years, the leagues meet in a conference to renegotiate trading contracts and other important issues.
Only a handful of Leagues have more than one Champion Rank Trainer, Kanto being one of them and the only one that has Three. Since Blue Oak recently became the newest Champion of our Region, with his Rivial Red Ketchum on the same Rank. While the previous Champion is still at that Rank too. This allows our region to have the best negotiating power. Though the real power comes from Blue's father Professor Oak.
Professor Oak himself is at the 'Master Trainer' Rank. This is a one in a hundred billion chance of finding someone at that Rank. No one else in history has ever reached this Rank so far yet, except for Professor Oak. Making our League the most powerful in the entire world, which is why the World Wide Pokémon League headquarters are in our region.
From what everyone knows, Professor Oak's whole main team has reached the Emperor/Empress Rank. Plus the rumors say that he even has some other Pokémon that are this Rank as well, which are not a part of his main team. This makes him the most feared Trainer in the world, though, from his interviews and speeches, he appears like in the anime from my last word. A nice and caring old man, who just wants to learn everything he can about Pokémon and the world he is in.
I am not sure what the League asks of Professor Oak, but I am sure the man gets anything he wants and can do whatever he wants. My dream like every kid in this world is to be a trainer, though I will be the first trainer in history to beat every Champion from every region making myself the World Wide League Champion. That is my ultimate life goal.
'Hey Lucas you done daydreaming about your future?' I heard the voice of God in my head as I was sitting in bed daydreaming about my future life here.
'Uh… God?' I think to myself as his voice snaps me out of my daydreaming.
'Yes, this is the last time you will hear from me. Though I just want to tell you, that the Pokémon you asked me for is at the volcano. You will find their egg there,' God says to me before I feel his presence in my head disappear along with the location of the egg in my head and how to get there.
'Crap… how am I gonna get my Dad to allow me to go into the woods that far from the city…' I think to myself since the Island we are on is the same size as the Island of Hawai'i from my old life.
Seventy percent of the island is wilderness, while the rest is the small Cinnabar City of people, where we live. However, the island does have a volcano that is inactive and on the opposite side of the island from Cinnabar City. This is where my Father goes to train his Pokémon and do his research on Fire-type Pokémon.
I came downstairs to see my Dad's Pokémon going about their daily morning rituals as I started eating breakfast that my Dad just finished cooking. I am close with them all, though I am closest with his Charizard. As I would always ask it to fly me around the city. My Dad's Pokémon are Magcargo, Rapidash, Torkoal, Charizard, Flareon, and his starter Magmar.
"Dad, are you going to the volcano again today?" I ask hoping I can tag along since he might just let me.
"Yeah, though after we finish your lessons for today," Dad says to me nodding his head, as I become hopeful for my next question.
"Can I come with you?" I ask him as he stops and looks at me mulling over the request in his head.
"Please! I promise I won't do anything bad! I just want to see it for myself!" I say with puppy eyes since I have asked before but he always says no.
"Lucas–" Dad says with a face that shows he is going to deny me again.
"Please, please, please!" I say with a pleading look and act like I am about to break out in tears.
"...Fine. But! You have to get one of my Pokémon to watch you while we are there. If none agree then you can't come," Dad says to me as I practically jump out of my seat in excitement.
"Ok!" I say while running over to Charizard immediately who is outside basking in the morning sunlight.
"Charizard! Can you watch me at the volcano later, please?!" I say running over to him, as Charizard is a very prideful Pokémon who is the most feared by the people who challenge my Dad.
He always looks at other people with contempt, though around me and my Dad, he is a giant teddy bear. Even the people who live in the same city as us fear him since whenever I go out to the city he is always with me looking around menacingly. Charizard looks over to me with a tired face since he seems to have woken up not that long ago.
"Char char," Charizard says to me nodding his head before laying his head back down while basking in the sun.
"Dad! Charizard said he would!" I say running back inside the house as my Dad lets out a small sigh nodding his head.
"OK, then we can go later. But! Remember do not wander too far from me! And you have to listen to Charizard!" Dad says to me as I nod my head excited to finally get my first Pokémon and starter for my journey as a Trainer.
