My Past and Death

My name is . . . Erlyn Lock, I've lived most of my life in isolation. Life has always been boring for me . . . maybe it's because I spend most of my days bedridden due to a disease I was born with. I have a really weak heart and my parents worry for my survival every day and I hate it. I hate worrying them so much . . . But, there's nothing I can do about it.

To pass time, I usually read novels and Manhwas in my room because it makes me happy and entertained. I always dream of a world where I was the strong protagonist! But maybe not a righteous one because I know that being too righteous and kind can lead to my death. My personal favorite manhwa is 'Tower of God' because of the concept of a tower that can grant your wish. My wish is to either be healthy or be able to live happily with my family. But . . . the tower doesn't exist and that's reality.

I have always possessed tremendous luck to the point where I was able to live up to 18 years old, even though the doctors estimated my lifespan to be up to 10 years. But even if I managed to survive up to this point, my condition worsens every day. To pay my medical bills, my parents worked day and night. I always see them exhausted with eye bags under their eyes every time they visit me. But they always smile as if everything was fine, it . . . frustrates me. I sometimes hear my mother's cries as she prays for my health every day, while my father will always be there comforting her. But of course, nothing lasts forever . . . I passed away due to a heart attack at the age of 18, a week before my mother's birthday. That was one of the biggest regrets in my whole entire life as I hear my parents' screams and cries as they try to call for help and bring me to the hospital as fast as they can.

Everything felt cold and numb as I drift off into an eternal slumber, it was dark and peaceful . . . I thought this would be the end. But I then heard a voice, I didn't know where it came from . . .

[ Welcome child . . . ] The voice called me a . . . child? I'm 18 and I'm pretty sure I'm considered an adult and not a child.
