Chapter 2

"Hey! Hey! Jamie! Wake up, idiot!"

He opens his eyes and looks at the person who called him in a stern voice. His eyes flutter with confusion as to the man who looks at him with irritation.

"You are so stupid! How could you sleep in class and never wake up?! Mom is furious and made me fetch you! dumb ass, collect your things and follow me now!" He said and walked away. Gongyun frowned at the attitude but blinked and jerked his head to see his surroundings.

The place is unrecognizable, but Gongyun has an idea that he is in the classroom. In university, if he could conclude. The site has the same setup as his previous school but is different enough that he feels nothing at all. Unlike his school, where he feels warmth, this place is cold and apathetic. Words tell him that he doesn't belong here, and a loud shout that it is dangerous to stay.

Knowingly, he bit his lip as a sign of nervousness. What happened to him? Did he get stabbed and bled to death? Damn! Now that everything is returning to his memory, Gongyun felt the shivering fear cracking his bones. Where was he? Who was that lousy person who killed him? What happens after? Did he survive? But he was supposed to be in a hospital.

Gongyun is panicking, and he quickly stands up to run. If he was being kidnapped or worse, something weird happened. He runs desperately and sees the hallway. The place is unfamiliar. He has his bag on his back while he wears a hideous outfit. Who the hell wears neon light baggy pants and big red shoes? He looks like a clown while his polo shirt suffocates him because of the closed button high to his neck that almost chokes him. He opens all of them and inhales repeatedly.

He tried to calm down, but his eyes were darker, and irritation was infiltrating him. He feels strange and mostly pissed off. He runs again until he reaches the entrance. The whole place is vast, much broader than the university he attended years ago. What the heck is happening?

There is a car in front, and the man who looks pissed is patiently looking at him. Gongyun recognizes him. He was the man before when he woke up in this place. The man that was looking for him with so much hatred. He feels the familiar shivering, a warning that the man is dangerous. Gongyun doesn't know why, but his instinct tells him to run away from the place. As if on cue, his legs have their mind. He sprints as if someone is chasing him as if someone tried to kill him, a faceless stranger above him mercilessly stabbing him. Gongyun runs and runs until he reaches the nearby park. Oblivious to the shouts calling his name.

The place is also huge, and sweat envelops him. He could feel the numbness of his legs, and when he saw the bench, he quickly went for the seat. His body is whimpering because of the sudden muscles used. He almost curses because his body supposedly fits. He merely runs! The place in the university is only a kilometer from the park, yet his body is screaming in pain. He just sighs and looks at the sky. The darkness of the night made him feel melancholy. He feels alone.

... silence

The sudden pain in his brain made him close his eyes and grit his teeth. There is something that is pulling his mind. A distant memory and pain conquer his whole, and Gongyun feels a distinct feeling of negativity; his eyes are closed as the memories run into his brain like a proficient presentation.

After exasperating minutes, Gongyun blinks. His eyes were watery because the sudden rush of memory flooded without a pause.

Gongyun is optimistic that he died that night. Also, he lives after and wakes up being a different person. The tragic life of a boy he never thought he could understand. How much did this boy suffer and die in silence in a frigid room such as a classroom?

He was murdered.

This boy died because someone killed him, just like Gongyun.

A cold murder that, even in class, no one noticed his grief... He couldn't ask for help because someone paralyzed his whole body. He could not cry, speak, or even move—a pathetic death with so many people who don't care about him.

Gongyun cried, feeling the pain of the boy's destiny.

He cried as if he was the person who felt it, as if he was the soul who received all those horrible things.

The guilt

and

The solitary.
