Chapter 10 : Mourning

Everyone were inside the room where Lee, Shawn, Kenny, Alexis were sitting in chairs which are set according the round table, While other were talking with each other on the Sofa a little further from the table

It was Afternoon and the Greene family was still shaken up by their Father's death, Lee felt guilty about not being able save everyone, When he came here he planned on not letting anyone die but he failed he didn't expect Walker's to enter from the front which didn't happen in the game or at least they didn't show it

They have buried Hershal in the backyard, while doing that Lee talked to Shawn about the fact that he is bitten and he will become one of those things so we should stab him in the head

It took a lot of convincing since he thought that he can be Alive if that happens but Lee started convincing him told to not let your father become one those Human-Eating Monsters which in the end he agreed and Lee was the one who did it, He didn't ruin his face he just Hershal in right temple, with that done they buried him 

Lee got to know about the sisters of Shawn who were Maggie, Susie and Rachel 

After a while he also found out they all are adults and aren't underage, not that it matter to him

Now even though they are devasted and sad with their father gone Lee doesn't want anyone else to die so he brings them in the room to discuss their next moves

Where Kenny suggested going to Macon which after a little while everyone agreed to as this place isn't safe 

After the funeral was over Kenny apologized to Shawn about his behaviour back there which Shawn understood and didn't blame him for it

Lee started to admire Shawn as he is really kind and nice person because Lee was a little frustrated with Kenny because he made sure that throwing Duck towards him would make him come to save Shawn after giving Duck to Katjaa or someone old enough but he chose to run 

But in the end Hershal's death wasn't something which was caused by him so he also let it go

(A/N : Even though Lee is 24 years old in this game, but in his past life he got killed when he was just 19)

Shawn wanted to look for Chet who lives near, Lee and Shawn went there while others stayed inside the house 

They droved there just to find that this place is ravaged by the walkers and there are still some walkers so they got near it and tried to kill the walkers without making noise

Lee let Shawn know about his Silencer gun which made the job easier

Lee could tell that his shooting has improved greatly, His hands doesn't shake at all

"Let's get inside"

Shawn said to Lee, Lee already talked to Shawn to expect worse at this point 

When they got in there, Lee recognized Chet as a Walker, Shawn saw that but there wasn't much time as Lee shot Chet, with that all the walkers around this house were dead 

Shawn after a little grieving looked around the place and found three shotguns and bullets

Lee found a some medicines and food which he put in the Inventory without letting Shawn know

They planned to go back but Lee told him to go back with those shotguns since he planned to find more supplies if he can, Shawn was opposing to it at first but after little bit of convincing he went back to Farm

"Alright let's check out of store now"

When they were looking for supplies in this house he saw a shop from the house which he wanted to loot

He got there and surprisingly it wasn't wrecked and wasn't looted either as this placed was locked

He shot the lock 3 times which finally made the lock open 

"Alright, please be there a lot of food"

At the Barn

Everyone were a little anxious because they want to leave this place but Lee hasn't come back yet

Kenny did propose to leave if he doesn't come in an hour which idea was rejected by the group, even though Kenny tried to convince everyone they didn't budge, even Katjaa didn't comply with her husband and decided to stay 

There was a knock on the door while they were arguing 

Alexis and Clementine quickly open the door and Lee was there with a bag 

"Hey guys let eat a little before leaving for Macon"

Lee said while putting the bag on the table, The bag was filled with canned food and Toffee candies which were a lot

Everyone was happy except for the Greene family ladies, they were trying to hide it but they were still very sad about their father's death which is understandable as it happened today and it will take some time

Still they all ate up a little, Right now the whole group was the aware of the supplies that were 3 bag of foods one belonged to Clementine which Alexis filled with food in Atlanta, The bag belonged to the Greene family and the one Lee just brought

That was quite a lot of food for them to survive for at least 3 months

As for Weaponry they had Four Shotguns and three pistols, the shotguns were found by Shawn, He gave one to Kenny, Maggie and kept one for himself

Lee had pistols and he wasn't sure about using shotgun's not only do they make a lot of noise he isn't comfortable in using them which left the last Shotgun unattended and was kept in the bag

After making sure to take all the valuable supplies with them they all got out of the house to settle in the cars to leave for Macon

They now had three vehicles, Kenny's Van, Mini-truck of Shawn and the car Lee and Alexis found on the road

"Umm, Alexis where are we going?"

Iris asked Alexis who was holding a bag of food in her hands, Carl wanted to make them go to Atlanta to look for his Mother but he knew the answer if he asks which is why he quietly agreed to go to Macon

"We are going somewhere safe, don't worry I will keep you safe"

Alexis told her while looking at both of them, Lee heard it and wanted to have a talk with Carl and Iris but didn't and they all started working on their cars

Kenny's Van had a slight problem which he was fixing right now, Lee went to him

"I'm Sorry"

Kenny said without even looking at Lee

"I heard what you had planned, Kenny, to protect the people you care about is not bad, But if you want others to look after them, tell me how many people would do that if you are just gonna abandon them"

"Hey, I will keep my family saf-"

"Really, Because I'm pretty sure that I was the one who pulled Duck out of a walker's mouth"

"I'm really thankful for that bu-"

"Keep that superficial gratitude to yourself, I'm not gonna talk about your decisions to make you guilty, but if you're not gonna have other's back no one will watch yours either"

While saying that Lee walked away from the car, Leaving Kenny to his thoughts and regret

They all got settled in the cars to head towards Macon
