Reincarnated as a Zombie in an Interstellar Apocalypse

Kaori Amano is the richest, most famous streamer on Earth. Well, she was up until she was brutally killed. But, upon death, she was told she could continue her life in another world. Same soul, same body. No harm in that, right?.... ......Right?..... Maybe if she wasn't suddenly put into a parallel, futurisric world by the Goddess Persephone that was currently in the middle of a zombie apocalypse. Or being isolated from safety while a herd is but a few inches from her, separated only by a blast door about to open. Oh, and not only is she living in this undead apocalypse, she is a part of it! And there’s no easy way out. This version of Kaori was a participant in the program that sent the rich to space in order to wait out the apocalypse…. Too bad it followed the rich into space as well. Luckily Persephone isn’t completely screwing over Kaori. She is being gifted power and magical items in exchange for purging zombies. Note: Because of creating a futuristic, space society, there are a lot of things that will need to be explained. This means the beginning will be a bit slow. No smut, no yuri, no harem. The Doctor

"No!" A woman's scream rang out upon Jesse and Kaori entering the hanger from the space bridge, interrupting them mid-conversation. Kaori jumped but Jesse laughed.

As she turned to look who screamed, she heard footsteps pounding the metal as they ran directly for her. By the time she managed to catch a glimpse of her, it was too late, the woman had toppled Kaori, slamming her to the ground, hard.

"Ow!" The ex-streamer screeched, closing her eyes and grabbing the back of her head with both hands as the woman quickly got off of her.

"Elias!" She called out, before lowering her voice as whoever it was finally approached at a more humane greeting speed. "I hurt her on accident."

As the pain subsided slightly, Kaori peeked her eyes open. Standing above her was a beautiful woman with a dark, voluptuous, perfect afro upon her head. She too was wearing a bodysuit similar to Kaori's, but had added additional clothing in a decent attempt to make it look fashionable; a pair of daisy dukes and a random black band t-shirt. Her brown eyes were soft, and her face was happy, the complete opposite of the tone of her scream just a moment prior.

The woman was facing a man in a suit as well, minus the heels, but was wearing a long, white doctor's coat over it. Around his neck was a stethoscope per usual, and he was wearing round, wire framed glasses over his blue eyes. He ran one his hands through his short, blond hair as he looked from the woman and down to Kaori.

"I believe we have more things to worry about than just a bumped noggin," the man's voice was deep, and had a thick German accent sprinkled into it. "Jozette, you should have been more careful, Jesse warned us ahead of time who-"

"I know," she looked down at Kaori, "but, look at her. Aside from her hair and eyes, she's Kaori. Our friend. I really thought I would never see her again."

Elias's voice lowered, "we all did." He then knelt down next to Kaori, "I'm Dr. Reuter, I only wish to help you," he smiled at her as Kaori opened her eyes. "May I take a look?" She nodded, removing her hands from the back of her head and sitting up with his help.

The floor where she had hit her head was covered in blood, but her long hair had kept it contained enough that no one had noticed at first. When Kaori moved her hands to the front of her, she began to panic upon seeing her saturated sleeves and red hands.

"Oh shit!" Jesse joined in her panic, but stayed out of Dr. Reuter's way, and could tell something was different by the lack of worry on his behalf.

Elias slid his glasses down slightly as he peered at the wound on her head, moving her hair slightly to get a better look. "Hm," he accidently said in confusion as he studied her, using a pen from his pocket to move her hair about to avoid touching the blood.

"What's wrong?" Kaori finally asked, thrown off by everyone's odd behavior.

"That's the thing, nothing's wrong." He stood up, while helping her to her feet just the same, though lifting her by a part of her arm that wasn't covered in blood. "You have a wound there, but it's not nearly big enough to cause that much to escape. It's like it's already started healing. Honestly, it maybe needs a band aid at this point, but that's a strong maybe."

"So, it's true?" Jozette asked him, crossing her arms across her chest with nervousness filling her.

Elias nodded at her. "She is reincarnated." He then turned back to Kaori, "it's been a long time since Persephone has sought help for us. I suppose it's no surprise she chose you."

They began to walk altogether towards the exit of the hangar, when, not having gotten far at all, a sudden, agonizing scream rang out from a man that was inside the RV inspecting it. The group immediately turned back, listening as pained moans began to get closer. And after a few minutes, they watched as a small group of people were rushing a man out of the space bridge, before laying him onto the floor.

"Help!" one of them screamed out, and the group of 4 dashed over to them, Kaori the last to arrive.

The workers surrounding the injured one separated to allow the doctor through. "Bit?" Elias questioned, once again upon the ground, staring at an obvious mark upon the man's leg, with a chunk just beside it missing. "How?" he turned to look at Kaori and Jesse.

Neither of them could say anything.

One of the worker's chimed in, "We went into the power room, and there was a roach in there! It pounced Harry!"

"I'm so sorry," Jesse apologized somberly; one of the most important steps in securing a ship, and he missed it solely because of his grief. All he needed to do was do a walk-through.

"It's too late for apologies," Elias sternly said, "but we need to amputate it immediately. But is the zombie still in there?"

The workers nodded, and Jesse immediately rushed in, no questions asked, with no one able to stop him.

Jozette wasn't a fighter, she was a mechanitech, and Elias needed to save the man. Kaori was once a fighter, but she knew only a sliver of her body's capabilities, and didn't quite trust herself yet.

She could only hope Jesse would be okay.

Elias reached into his coat pockets, before bringing out 3 items; 2 being compact devices and the 3rd a scalpel. One of the compact devices was a 3-inch-long black pole with a tiny button like handle, and the other was a tiny, 2-inch box. He put the 2 devices on the ground next to him while putting the scalpel to the man's clothes a few inches above his bites.

"I'm sorry for my lack of cleanliness for your operation, but I promise everything will be alright," and without any more hesitation, he cut the man's pant leg cleanly, exposing his flesh. The doctor then placed the small pole on top of it, stretching it out to fit across his leg, while a few men began to hold the victim down.

Elias then placed his thumb over the button while holding it with his 2 forefingers. The device then emitted a high-pitched beep before the doctor tapped his thumb once. "The quicksaw has applied the numbing cream," he informed his patient. Then, 2 taps, and a laser immediately erupted from it for only a brief second before disappearing, separating the man's leg just above the knee in a small spray of blood.

The man howled out, fighting the several men that were attempting to hold him down, while Dr. Reuter remained unfazed. The device turned off after being used, and he set it back down upon the floor, before grabbing the small box.

Upon pushing the button on the box, it turned into a half circular metallic device that seemed to be easily adjustable. "You may feel a slight burn with the Syngerit," he informed his patient as he adjusted the device over the man's new nub, covering it like a glove. After only a second, it began to tighten, creating a tourniquet around it.

Then a high-pitched sound emitted just as the pole did, before a loud puff of extremely hot air was let out, cauterizing his wound instantly in unison to the moans, groans, and screams the man was letting out.

"You're saved, but please make your way to the med bay to disinfect the area now."

The man was drenched in sweat, gasping for air, but he was relieved; He was going to be okay, aside from having to learn how to live without a leg. Though, he would rather that than his family learn to live without him.
