Since it had already gone through the detection of elemental energy, the process was greatly reduced. Still, it could take several days. This was the first step to becoming a magician. When you start out in the world of Tales of Magic and Demons, you start out as a normal civilian. What differentiates us in classes are the initial missions where an old man teaches us how to become in each class.
This class process allowed me to remember every sensation and way to accumulate energy to become a first circle magician. The way to do this is to feel the particles of elemental energy or mana in the environment and gather it in the heart creating a ring. The number of rings determines the level of magic one is able to do.
This harvesting process requires an energy gathering technique. In the game I learned several useful techniques that would be much better than the basic technique that the old man gives you in the first mission.
Looking back, I looked for the best method in my possession. The only thing I could think of was an old book in the hidden library of the magic empire. This was a book that the imperial family locked up because they couldn't understand it.
It was very difficult to gain access to that library because of the series of endless quests and subplots I had to complete to gain access. Still, I didn't regret doing it as it allowed me to learn about several useful spells.
Although the book was in a lost language, for me it was a different case. Since the game translated everything for the user automatically. It was the only advantage the game gave you.
With the method decided, I sat down in the lotus position and began to meditate. Elemental energy was known as mana in this world and possessed unique characteristics. This energy was divided into several energy forms, but in essence they belonged to the same root. Elemental energy was divided into fire, water, wind, earth, wood, light, darkness, metal, lightning, and neutral. That is why the term elemental energy was better adopted instead of mana.
The method of collecting energy allowed the magician to gather and absorb them. However, one had to be sure of one's elemental affinity and this was achieved by letting energy freely enter the body without forcing it. The elemental affinity would attract the right energy and with that starting point the magician could absorb it freely.
A mage could not use spells of other affinities unless he reached the fifth circle, and even then the cost of magic is greatly increased with each spell. As the world's greatest archmage and a player, I was fortunate to have a triple affinity naturally. Still, I learned spells from the other elements.
A person could acquire more elemental affinities that required very high-level elixirs that were almost impossible to refine. Among the players, I was the only one who managed to make them. Due to the scarcity of materials, I only managed to have eight elemental affinities. Even so, I learned the other spells of the two affinities that I didn't possess as some spells were worth it.
Without further ado, I emptied my mind and began meditation. As a distinct breed, I didn't know if I would get the same affinities, so I decided to take it easy. I took a deep breath making my chest get big and exhaled very gently.
Soon my mind calmed down and multiple spheres of energy began to float around me. The spheres glowed in shades of red, blue, light green, yellow, dark green, white, black, gray, purple, and transparent. The neutral energy was special and could not be forcibly absorbed. It alone approaches the user and allows him to absorb it. Everyone in the world could absorb it, but not everyone could cast spells of the neutral element, so it wasn't counted as an elemental affinity.
Immediately the spheres flew towards me as if it were some kinds of tasty saucer and plunged right into my body.
Absolute affinity!
That surprised me a lot. Within the game, no one obtained it naturally or artificially. It was theoretically impossible, as a person would experience what is known as rejection and elemental energy would flee from one immediately. Turning powerful wizards into ordinary citizens. This phenomenon was recorded in the different libraries and towers of magicians throughout the continent.
Worried about becoming useless, I tried to stop them from coming into contact with my body. Still, the spheres entered my heart without stopping. I could see that it could attract more dark energy and much smaller enough light energy.
System: Congratulations to the host for checking your elemental affinity.
System: Intelligence has been permanently increased by +5.
System: Has obtained "Absolute Affinity" as a talent.
I was surprised to see the confirmation from the system. This was just unbelievable. Not only did my body not reject elemental energy. Instead, he embraced it, allowing me to use every type of spell. If I put it together with my previous knowledge, I will be invincible.
I adjusted my breathing, calming the overflowing emotion within my body. My mouth opened and I began to chant while my hand moved by adopting different hand signs.
This technique was known as the elemental myriad. It gave its wearer the opportunity to create a circle with more than one attribute. A normal mage with a generic technique would only be able to have a single attribute within their magic circle. Forcing them to specialize in a single attribute until it reached the fifth circle. Only dual or triple mages had an advantage in being able to create other circles with different elemental attributes.
This mixed-circle method of elaboration was unique. The best part was that it increased your energy reserves with each element added to the circle. By combining it with absolute affinity, you could take advantage of this technique.
Particles of spiritual energy began to swirl around me. The specks of light were gradually integrated into my body and traveled directly to the heart. I could feel that the amount of energy was not the same for each type of energy. Darkness was the attribute with the greatest affinity and light was the one that resisted being absorbed by me.
