Chapter 170 - Untold Secret

[Within the dark lands]

Within a dark cave in a tunnel stood an elderly figure with one arm. Dr. Merlot was standing over a glass container with a child within. The fluid inside the container was empty. There was a crack in the container on the side. A path of liquid was trailing out toward what could only be the path out of the cave.

He opened the container and pulled up the small boy that was inside. He hugged him with the only arm he had remaining. Tears slid down his face as he couldn't feel any life in him.

"Ozpin and those kids will pay for taking you from me. First was Ozpin, and now his students have taken you from me forever."

Dr. Merlot looked at the black liquid that was on the ground. He slowly lowered his child back into the empty container. Merlot reached his hand and rubbed it across the black liquid.

The black liquid on his hand bubbled around before the trail leading out rushed toward him rushing to encase his body.

"👎︎□︎ ⍓︎□︎◆︎ ⬥︎♓︎⬧︎♒︎ ♐︎□︎❒︎ ♒︎♏︎●︎◻︎ ♒︎◆︎❍︎♋︎■︎✍" A garbled voice came from deeper with the cave which Merlot couldn't understand.

[Back at the arena]

Shallot was standing in the middle of the arena. Shallot looked around and saw that the ones in the stand were looking at him. He felt what he could only assume was magic.

"Odd? it doesn't feel natural for me?" Shallot said. He couldn't use the magic that he absorbed like ki so he would have to try something else.

Ironwood wanted to make sure that nothing damaged the core of Penny that was in the head portion. Ironwood was going to head back to Atlas so they can work on rebuilding Penny.

He motioned for some of the guards to come towards him.

"Call for the ship to come here. We will be heading back to Atlas after I finish talking with the headmaster of Beacon Academy." Ironwood said to one of the guards.

Shallot walked over to the side while using his scroll putting something in. The cube that was in the middle launched back out carrying the new "captives" back towards the lab.

Some of the guards were heading back to notify the ship runners to get ready for whenever General Ironwood was prepared to leave.

General Ironwood walked toward the side so that he could head toward the exit carrying the head of Penny. He left out so he could talk with Ozpin. Everything that he has been preparing for has been pointless since Shallot dealt with it.

'Now I have to find a way to deal with Shallot in case he ever endangers everyone.' Ironwood thought to himself while walking away.

Shallot was walking toward the walkway area to head back to the girls. Yang, Blake, and Weiss had calmed Ruby down while Yang was slightly surprised at how angry Shallot could get.

Blake always told them that Shallot was a lot calmer than when they were kids. They didn't believe it since he was so light-hearted all the time and spent most of his time with them.

The only thing that he ever did take seriously was the training that he did later in the day.

Weiss was looking wondering if Neptune would bring down an entire World problem just for making her cry.

Weiss was looking at Shallot pulling Ruby into a hug rubbing her head. Blake and Yang came together to give hugs to Ruby with Shallot, Ruby feeling the warmth of everyone relaxed.

"Don't worry Ruby. I'm sure that we can think of some way to help Penny." Yang told her little sister.

They had already known that Penny was a robot when they had seen Shallot's scroll that had shown Penny as being an android. Ruby was in the washroom that day and they all decided to keep it to themselves.

Ruby was happy with her friend and they didn't want to tell her that her friend was an android. What they didn't know was that Ruby already knew about it and that she was keeping that information from them.

The Warning Sirens went off inside the stadium with everyone looking around. They couldn't really see anything and were wondering if the systems were malfunctioning.

*Screech*

They heard a Nevermore screech coming from above the dome. Everyone saw a Nevermore coming for the opening.

"Seems I missed one." Shallot said while pointing his finger toward the Nevermore.

The ki started to charge before launching leaving a trail traveling across the air. The beam struck the Nevermore killing it by piercing its skull. The Nevermore cried out after being hit before crashing into the middle of the stage.

The alarms stopped blaring after the Nevermore was dead. Everyone looked at the Nevermore that was in the middle of the arena the was dissipating in a cloud of black smoke.

"So, what to do next. I am the strongest here at this point and there isn't much to do. We should finish our time for school and then I should be able to have a way for me to take you all with me back to where my family is." Shallot said while rubbing Ruby's back still.

"Uhm." Ruby nodded her head.

"Your family? I thought you couldn't go back there?" Yang asked since this was the first time that he mentioned this to them.

"I can't head back without my semblance. You need one that can travel far distances or a ship that can take you there." Shallot said trying to keep it simple. They were still in a crowded area and he didn't want to say to them that he was from another planet.

He planned on telling them soon since he wanted them to go with him and it would be dickish to take them to another universe or reality without telling them.

Shallot told them that they should leave since the tournament will probably be canceled and rescheduled.
