Chapter 37: Kazrach vs Keltharion

Kazrach was aimlessly wandering around in the forest, trying to clear his mind. The academy had been overwhelming, and he needed some timealone to recharge. As he walked along the path, he suddenly heard the sound of destruction in the distance. He knew that something was wrong, and he decided to investigate. With a sense of urgency, he approached the source of the noise and discovereda group of undead creatures attacking a nearby village. Kazrach hid behind a tree and watched in horror as the creatures destroyed everything in their path. The villagers were defenseless against these merciless undead beings, and Kazrach knew he had to do something to stop them.

As he was about to intervene, he caught a glimpse of Keltharion the Lich, one of the most evil beings in the land, leading the attack. The sight of the lich triggered a wave of intense anger within Kazrach. He couldn't believe that Keltharion could be so cruel and brutal to people who had done no harm to him.

But what made Kazrach even angrier was that the village that was being attacked was where his elf wife Amara, came from. The thought of her possibly being hurt, or worse, consumed him with rage.

Kazrach knew he had to act fast, but he also knew that he couldn't take on the entire army of undead creatures and Keltharion alone. He quickly summoned his guardian eagle, Ruchna, who always looked after him from the sky. Ruchna arrived immediately, and Kazrach climbed onto her back, ready to take down the malevolent attackers.

With Ruchna's help, Kazrach swooped down from the sky and began attacking the creatures with his sword, infused with dark magic. His rage fueling his every move as he charged towards Keltharion, his hatred for the Lich increased with each passing second.

Keltharion was a formidable opponent. Kazrach had never faced anything like him before. The Lich shrieked and hissed, and bolts of dark magic shot out from his skeletal fingers. The two engaged in a fierce battle, with Kazrach's sword against Keltharion's dark magic.

The battle was intense, with the creatures flocking around the two of them like a dark aura. Kazrach and Keltharion traded blow for blow with neither gaining the upper hand. It seemed like hours had passed, but in reality, it had only been a few minutes.

Finally, Kazrach saw his opening. He saw Keltharion raise to cast another spell, and at that moment, he plunged his sword deep into his opponent's heart. The Lich's form dissipated in a burst of black smoke, and the creatures fell lifeless to the ground, lacking their leader.

Kazrach sighed in relief. The battle was over, and the village was saved. He looked at the carnage around him and felt a terrible numbness spread through him. He had never seen such violence, and it made him realize how important Amara was to him.

As he made his way back to his home, he couldn't help but think about what he could have done differently. The thought of never seeing Amara again churned his stomach, and he realized that he couldn't leave her vulnerable to such attacks in the future. He resolved to return to his homeland more frequently and to protect his love and those that she cared for.

Kazrach entered his home with a heavy heart, but found his wife Amara safe and sound. She greeted him with a warm embrace, and he closed his eyes, feeling the soothing comfort of her embrace.

"Are you okay?" she asked, sensing the pain in his eyes.

Kazrach sighed and looked into her eyes, "Yes, I am, but we need to talk about something important."

He relayed the events that transpired that day to Amara and what it meant for them, how he had been wracked with guilt for not being there to protect her when she truly needed him.

Amara listened carefully, and when he had finished, she took his hand, "I understand how you feel, my love. I do not wish to see these events happen again either. But, I know deep down that you will always do what is right, and your heart is strong."

Kazrach smiled, taking comfort in her words, knowing that her love gave him power he never knew he had. They held each other close, comforted in each other's arms, knowing that no matter what the future brought, they would face it together.
