Chapter 34: Meet Elena's Parents

Kazrach, the demon prince, was nervous as he stood outside the door of Elena's parents' house. He had never met humans beforeand was worried about what they would think of him. Dressed in his best suit, he put on a brave face and rang the doorbell.

Kazrach towered over the humans, standing at an impressive seven feet tall. His skin was a very dark brown, and his eyes, a deep black that expressed his power.

As he rang the doorbell, he heard the sound of footsteps coming from inside the house. The door creaked open, and he saw Elena's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Williams, standing before him. The Williamses were a kind, middle-aged couple whose kindness extended beyond their family, and their community knew them for their service.

Upon seeing the demon, Elena's parents were understandably nervous, but they tried their best to act natural and nice. They invited Kazrach in and offered him a seat. Kazrach sat upright, his broad shoulders and imposing presence taking up most of the room.

Elena's father, Mr. Williams, was a tall, lean man with a bushy mustache and sharp gray eyes. He began with small talk, asking Kazrach about his travels and his background. Kazrach answered politely, but he could see the fear in Mrs. Williams' eyes as she sat beside her husband.

Kazrach's deep, black eyes were the reason for their fear. He knew that the color of his eyes, the color of the void, was not common in humans, and he could see that it made the Williamses more uncomfortable than anything else.

The demons in Kazrach's kingdom had black eyes as well, and they were considered a symbol of strength and power. However, he had learned that in the human world, they were a sign of something more ominous.

As the evening progressed, Mr. Williams started to relax, and his wife did too. They had prepared a delicious dinner, and Kazrach enjoyed it, taking care to eat properly with the utensils given to him. The Williamses were relieved to see that Kazrach wasn't like the demons they had read about in books. He seemed kind and thoughtful, and his manners were impeccable.

Kazrach and Elena had been dating for a months now, and he wanted to make a good impression on her family. He didn't want them to fear him, but he knew that his appearance was intimidating. He hoped that by showing his good heart and intelligence, they would begin to accept him.

After dinner, Mrs. Williams brought in some dessert, and Kazrach couldn't help but notice how frightened she was by his presence. She trembled as she handed him his plate, and he could tell that even after all these years, humans still held a deep fear of beings like him.

Kazrach understood why, but it still bothered him.

Before leaving, Kazrach thanked the Williamses for their hospitality, and he even gave them a rare gift from his kingdom, a silver necklace that he hoped would go some way towards showing how much he appreciated their kindness. By the end of the night, the Williamses were impressed with Kazrach's intelligence, manners, and his thoughtfulness. They were reassured that Kazrach was a kind-hearted demon who loved their daughter and wished nothing but good things for her.

As Kazrach left the Williams' home, he felt a sense of relief, knowing they had accepted him. As he walked back to his realm, he couldn't help but think about how humans often feared things they didn't understand rather than embracing them.

He hoped that with time, humans would see the good in the demons and that prejudices would disappear. Until then, he would continue to be an ambassador of sorts, showing that demons and humans could coexist peacefully.
