Volume 1 Chapter 3 The Beginning

Markos and Tom were now seen outside of the palace.

"Wait, Lucifer? Where is he?!" Markos asked with a very concerned tone to his voice.

"Calm down, I'll show you where he is soon. But for now I'll have to show you what all of us will be fighting for." Tom then took Markos to the Rainbow Bridge. "Lets begin with the basics, first look at your left." Markos did as he was told, and in doing so he was in awe, he saw a massive tree that contained Asgard and other dimensions in it, which was contained in each branch. "As you can see, the World Tree or The Yggrisal contains everything you see before you, such as Midgard, Asgard, and so on and so forth. Each of these different space time continuums are infinite in size and represent different mythologies from one another. For example, that one over there represents the Greek Mythology, but that other one here represents Shinto." Tom began to explain as he pointed each different dimension with his index finger. The man made the Rainbow Bridge move forward to a cave. "That cave right there, it contains every Demon that's been seen in history, all with the exception of Lucifer, who is held somewhere else."

"Wait a minute, shouldn't all of them be in Hell?" Markos asked as he tried to pay attention the man beside him was talking about. "I mean, it's where Demons are supposed to go to, aren't they? And speaking of Hell, that doesn't seem to be the place those Demons are at. So where is Hell then?"

"Hell is right there." Markos looked at where Tom was pointing towards, and the teen saw that Hell was located outside of the Yggidrisal, which was something that confused him. "If the Demons escape from their prison, which may happen within a month or so, they will go back to Hell to regain their strength."

"So how come Lucifer isn't in the Cave like those other Demons?"

"To give you the simplest of explanations, the Demons in your modern times have gotten weaker, far weaker in fact." Markos widened his eyes in surprise by this. "Yes, those Demons you fought so far, at their peak they used to destroy planets and terrorize others. However the ones in your world have lost so much strength that they can barely destroy buildings and move faster than sound. To be perfectly frank you're lucky that you were able to survive this far. However it's not gonna remain like that forever. Demons are mindless beasts without a King, once the King dies they need a new one chosen right away, being a king that is still technically alive, the Demons will just instinctually search for Lucifer. Once they find him, Lucifer will regain control and wage war, and all those Demons will regain their former power. Luckily however his soul has been sealed in your world in a doll, just so this way the exact location of Lucifer is the opposite where they expect it to be."

"What type of Doll exactly? And speaking of which, why seal it in some dumb doll in the first place?" Markos asked with slight annoyance.

"Do you remember that case of the Warrens?"

"The one where there was a demonic doll? If it is then is it also the one where that family died because of it?" Markos folded his arms in question. "I thought those were just some ancient ghost stories to keep dumb people out from exploring them."

"Yes it is, and you're not fully wrong. The doll was the one that caused that family's death. When the Warrens took it into their house, strange things began to happen, things kept changing places, at random times their daughter would wake up and see someone standing in front of her, noises would even occur at the place which were giving the impression of a struggle, then after some time, their house was burned to the ground, leaving their only child as an orphan. You'd have to pick it up and take care of it." Tom answered. "And we can't risk to bring it here, again the Demon's first thought will be to find Lucifer so bringing him here at Asgard will be dangerous, I thought hiding it on Earth would require them to put some thought into it."

"And you're telling me that I have to take care of this thing?" Markos pointed to himself, and Tom nodded his head. "Fuck my life right now..."

"Just be weary of what happens. Lucifer will do anything in his power to gain a physical form, so have no fear."

"Gotcha..."

"Which reminds me, it's time for to go and pick up your sister." Markos widened his eyes in shock as he realized how little time there was left.

"Ah shit! I have to go immediately, Tom!"

"Calm down, we'll get there before a heart beat even occurs." With the Bifrost, Tom took Markos back to Earth before a heart beat occurred, and he made sure to take Markos somewhere where it wouldn't be suspicious "By the way, before you go, there are 6 more warriors like you here! Here is a list of their names!" Tom threw a list of paper at Markos. "Bring one of them over so we can start your training at the earliest opportunity."

"Understood!" Markos replied before putting the list in his pocket. Tom left, and with that said and done Markos ran to where his sister's school was. Markos was able to arrive in time as the bell rang, and after a few seconds, Markos spotted his sister running towards him, spreading her arms as she lunged in for a hug.

"Big brother!" Himari exclaimed as she runs towards Markos her elder brother. Markos then hugged his little sister, as they were glad to see each other once again.

"Hey there sis." Markos replies to her. Both of them then headed straight back home.

Somewhere else

Sofia was walking to a local orphanage, the orphanage being where she lived. She wasn't happy though, as every time she entered she tried to think about every moment with her friends, cherishing them, especially with Markos. She opened the door and was greeted with a terrible sight, the place felt dead on the inside, despite all the children and teenagers, which should make the place feel alive, it felt so depressing and dead that it might as well be a grave yard.

"Sofia Ian!" an old woman yelled at the top of her lungs which struck fear to Sofia. The old woman was the owner, based on her look she was terrible and every single time the children looked at her, she would scare them "You know its time to sleep, right?!"

"Y... ye... yes..." Sofia replied, despite the fact she made no sound when entering but if she argued against the old woman, terrible things would happen. A kid one time was sleeping at the roof top because he talked back to her.

"So no singing as well, alright?!"

"U... understood." Sofia replied, walking upstairs to her room. When she got on her bed, she broke down in tears silently, and the only thing keeping her together was a picture of her friends together which was the only thing that felt alive in this room.

At Tom's lab

Tom was on a chair, he was analyzing the rock that makes up the cave that the demons are sealed inside of.

'Who is sending the Demons to find Lucifer?' Tom wondered to himself 'They are instinctual beings yes, but they should have very low chances of finding Lucifer, even when they were at their peak they shouldn't have been able to find him by now. So who is sending them?' Tom wondered to himself as these questions were sprouting in his head 'Markos, you need to find at least one warrior, because your training will have to begin.'
