Ramilha's Oath: Orb Dies

Rapatorhn finished that day's work on the farm. His employers were glad. They were two old couples. Their ages were higher than 80. Rapatorhn came to them and proposed to work willingly. He even did not demand any payment for it. They suspected but accepted it. He was an old man too and needed a place to stay for the days. This was acceptable for them.

Rapatorhn only needed a few days for the signal from his companions. Orb activated the mind-link channel and told an urgent declaration yesterday. His identity was exposed in the Oxben Palace. There should be one meaning for this. Oxben officials knew Orb was the one, who killed almost everybody in Arbhen Province. (It wasn't that but Orb did not give details to them)

This was the most undesirable thing for them. Orb was the only one who has the knowledge of how to enter Kataam City. Rapatorhn, Zabarn, Phazor, and Evalan don't have a clue what'll they do. They contacted each other and agreed to wait until the promised day.

Rapatorhn went to his room to rest. He slept but woke for a sound after one hour. Someone came to the house.

He looked to the outside of the room and recognized this guest. He was Rapatorhn's messenger.

Rapatorhn might be in a war against Prince Garbohan now but he was a former General of Unue. Some people in Unue Palace still were assisting him. He sent a letter to them with that messenger and the messenger returned now. He gave a new letter to Rapatorhn.

Rapatorhn looked at the envelope. There was a seal on it. That seal was the most powerful one in Jom Mekrapia. It belonged to Prince Garbohan's family.

Rapatorhn smiled. "So, she made her move." he told. The messenger approved him by moving his head. Rapatorhn opened the letter and read it. He sent away the messenger after that.

He returned to his room and started to wear his daily clothes again. He packaged his belongings and say farewell to the old couple. He left the house.

Rapatorhn activated the mind-link channel. "Hey, guys. Are you still in there?"

"Yes, old man. What's up?" Zabarn replied.

"I'm returning to the Capital, Unue Province"

"What? Did you lose your mind? They will kill you!"

"No, Zabarn boy. I may be an enemy of the state now but I still have power in the Palace. I informed Princess of Jom Mekrapia about Prince Garbohan's betrayal."

"What? Was there a Princess in Jom?" Phazor asked within the concern.

"Yes. She is Garbohan's sister. She wasn't in public because of Garbohan's evil personality She was living between the walls. I only oathed for her, not to that bloodlust creature. She is against this totalitarian regime, she is a reformer. Some of the Merks are assisting us too. She tells us we need to move now. My witnessing for the Olhim Castle's event is enough to interrogate him under the Merks' court, she says."

"Are you sure, you can handle this?" Phazor asked again.

"It will be hard but yes. I have connections with some Merks too."

"Ok, old man" Zabarn told.

"Tell Orb boy, I'll attend you after finishing this. It's clear that I won't be with you in Kataam. Do not die, boys. We will change the era in Jom Mekrapia together!" He canceled the mind-link channel.

Commander Berhica's Unit was on the way to Oxben Castle. They were still on the mountain.

"Can we take a break, Berhica?"

"We'll be there within one hour. What's it, Ramilha?"

"His condition is not good. I'm also tired because of the battle. We should rest" Ramilha implied Orb. He was bleeding still. He needs a few hours for his auto-healing process.

"Ok, then"

They camped.

Berhica and Valcona started to walk around.

"I know what're you after, Commander Berhica. The thing is, it's an honor to me. But I'm only an adventurer. My strength, my senses, my hearing skills, most of them improved very much within these restless years. But my romanticism sucks"

"Ah hah, did you really think I fell in love with you? Yes, I made some sexual harassment to you while riding but that's another point. I was interested in you because of your power. Our folks lived many terrible things because of ability users. We also lost Kataam Town because of them. You told me you're not one of them. I'm not sure it's true but it's worth a try. I, Ramilha, and Lady Leshiva promised that we will never get helped by ability users. If you tell the truth, you'll be very helpful to us within this war."

Valcona looked into Berhica's eyes. They're burning within anger. That woman was after revenge. He did not reply to her because he promised to Orb. He'll walk with him and Valcona never brokes his oaths.

Ramilha took Orb away from the soldier to a cliff for resting. They were alone and sitting together by leaning the same tree. Ramilha was looking to the west, Orb was sitting on the opposite side.

"Have you ever loved someone, Mr. Maynard?"

"..." Orb did not answer. He was looking to the ground.

"I know that you are not unconscious. And I know the answer, Mr. Maynard. You don't need to hide. You feel something to my Lady. It was the same on Earth too. You did not tell anything because she was married. I can sense these types of feelings."

Orb raised up his head. Is it possible to have <DETECTION> ability for Miranda? Does she see the color of the souls like him? He didn't want to talk before arriving at the Oxben Castle but this was important. It might be only her instincts also. He thought he should stay silent.

Commander Ramilha continued to talk. "Isn't it funny? I never had these types of feelings. I never loved someone. I never felt happy. I've never been angry. I was always like this. But I can see all emotions inside of the people's souls. I always watched them. It is impossible to have any feelings for me but I always live with the emotions of other people. This is like a punishment...An eternal punishment for me. This is genetic stuff. My mother is the same. Her nickname is <Soulless Queen>. She is a General of Unue Province now. She was always a cruel leader. She killed too many people. She even killed my father, her own husband too. That's why Prince Garbohan promoted her to General ranking. I do not have any feelings like her but I wasn't a cruel person like her. I did not help people but I did not do bad things like her. My Lady, Leshiva took me in her care to protect me against my mother. Lady Leshiva is a very strong leader. She always chooses the right decisions. I always adore her because of her character. I know that you love her. You can show your true feelings, Mr. Maynard. I have a surprise for you. She's not married."

Orb was stunned. This was a real surprise for him. He did not realize it for many years. That woman was coming to the shop with her family sometimes. They were adorable. She even had a child.

Orb was more interested now. Miranda was right. He loved Alisha. He was angry himself because of this too. Looking to a married woman was not a good thing. He was blaming himself but couldn't leave this feeling too.

"She doesn't have any children also. She paid them for this show on Earth. She should be in a low profile there. She was a leader of a Province in this world but a worker on Earth. She wanted to do that. She wanted to live that life. She also liked you, Mr. Maynard. You're the first man in her life who looked at her like that. She was happy for your feelings."

Orb closed his eyes and smiled. He was happy about the result. He was a stinky man in his mind for many years but not anymore. He was grateful to Miranda now. He should thank her. He opened his mouth to talk for presenting his gratitude.

"I..." He wanted to talk but couldn't. He opened his eyes in pain. A sword was stabbed in his heart. It was going deep. His eyes got bigger and he moved his head up. It was Miranda, Commander Ramilha was the one who stabbed him. He did not see it. Her soul color was gray. It's still gray now. That was impossible. It should change to black but didn't.

"I'm sorry, Mr. Maynard but I can not allow it. This is the first time she lost her cognizance. She always chose the right decisions but she failed the first time yesterday. It was because of you. She should kill you in the palace but didn't. She's not someone who forgives murderers. I can see your soul, Mr. Maynard. You're a black one. I always warned her about you. They would expel me from this Province because of using my ability. I didn't want to leave her. That's why I couldn't tell her about your soul color but I told her you're a bad person. But she fell in love with you still. I can not permit it. You're a murderer. You are a very dangerous murderer, Mr. Maynard. Your soul color is the darkest one I have ever seen. You will harm her, I know. I won't allow it. I'll protect her to the end of my life. You shouldn't live, Mr. Maynard!"

She stabbed her sword more and ripped Orb's heart...And kissed Orb's lips...For three seconds... "I am sorry, Mr. Maynard. I wanted to feel it too. This is not my first kiss...They were all dull...But yours is different...Your lips are not cold...This is my farewell to you...Even a bad man deserves this...I hope you feel my pure feelings in this way...I am not a bad person..."

Orb fell to the ground...
