It was the first thing that Sue Terin felt after gaining back her consciousness. Her skin crawled from the biting chilliness. She once knew this kind of feeling. It was when she was brought from the auction house to the Bear Tribe's settlement – Sue could never forget that feeling. But there was a variation from the coldness in her memory to her current situation.
Somehow, with her eyes closed from the fear of seeing the same thing from her past life, Sue did not feel so alone this time. Reluctantly, this made her open her eyes.
A pair of eyelids trembled before it revealed a deep set of obsidian eyes.
"You're awake," said a hoarse deep voice above Sue. One could hear the tiredness in his voice, but the elation after seeing the pair of eyes opened was evident.
Sue realized that for a split second, her heart had calmed down at the mere sight of his worried-stricken golden eyes.
