Sue felt that a whole bucketful of cold water was splashed onto her, rendering her dry in a minute or so – if that was possible. One notification and one ear-shattering explosion were all that it took to make her regain her strength. Though her legs were still wobbly and her skin was still drenched with sweat, her heart finally started to calm as she was about to slump on the floor.
Lucien caught Sue's waist before she lost her footing. He, too, heard the explosion and by the looks of its direction, he reckoned that it came from the Terin Manor. The enchanting atmosphere from a moment ago had long been shattered. Sighing, he willed his erection in his mind. 'Down, boy.'
"Thanks," said Sue. She looked up at him, eyes probing again.
