The sound of rattling chains was the only indication that there was someone inside the eerie dark room at the top of the vampire city's sky-high tower.
A portal cut through the darkness inside the room followed by the flapping of Orin's white wings in his owl form.
"You are a mess," said Sigfrid. His hands were both inside his pockets as he addressed the vampire who attacked him the moment he stepped out from the portal.
The clanking of the chains and the snarl of the mad vampire lord resonated as the latter was cut short by the restraints. With his fangs a mere couple of inches away from the archmage's face, a pair of crimson eyes gleamed within the cloak of darkness.
