A few days later a woman came to visit the land.
Clad in white clandestine armor, she had two massive white wings behind her back.
High angel.
The woman had heard of a boy who mastered all the books in the library and could cast all sorts of magic. She was so fascinated that she came to see for herself. The neighbors pointed her towards Mihael who was floating close to the sacred Beltop tree.
He was just floating around in the air, with his book. When he liked a book he took his time reading it; he had a lot of time after all.
"You there boy, can you understand me?"
Her voice was calm and gave of a womanly charm.
Skin, fair. Eyes blue.
Hair- long white.
And though she wore that armor on her upper body- she had a skirt on her lower body, barely hiding those knees….
"Are you speaking to me?" Mihael said.
The boy was also fair but perhaps not as much as her.
Even for a baby, he had this charm… this charm she couldn't understand. But if she had to describe it- she'd perhaps chose the word-
Majestic.
"Yes, I am speaking to you…."
"As you can see so, I most certainly can."
"Wo-would you like to talk for a moment inside your house along with your family?"
Wings-
Were proof of angelhood.
Even small wings suggested the person to be an angel. And since this person had such large wings- it was proof enough that she was definitely someone up in the hierarchy.
However-
"Sure, but first. Who are you?"
"I am Sarveisa, a high angel in service of lord Xorax, God of thunder."
A moment of silence-
Some birds flew above, a calming breeze went by-
Tranquil.
"Follow me," Mihael said.
He led her back to his house. According to angelic tradition he had no choice but to do so.
Although if he'd deemed the person to be unfit- he might or might not have had to… dispose- ahem….
Once back home, both of Mihael's parents stood there, kind of flabbergasted.
High angels were quite high in the angel hierarchy hence they had a 'high' attached to their names.
They were the rulers of typical angels and those angels were rulers of the lower tier wingless angels.
So- she was technically two tiers if not three- higher than them.
"P-please sit down," Mina said, offering the best chair in the house.
"It is okay, I do not plan on staying for long."
"So, what brings you here, my lady?" Derke said.
They stood just at the front of the house- inside.
Wooden house.
They weren't particularly rich, but the place was definitely clean and orderly.
"Would you allow your son to travel to the capital with me? I'm quite fascinated with him and I'd like to teach him some things myself. In other words I'd like to take him as my disciple. Only with your permission, and his of course."
"I'm okay with it but what about you-" Derke said- staring at his wife-
"If Mi's okay…" She said, finally giving the boy a glance.
Mihael gave a long thought. He was only mildly bored, so he didn't really care all that much about the capital. However, he was curious about how the capital would be different.
He was curious-
And-
He-
Wanted more-
"Sure. But if I get bored, I'll come back home."
"Then I'd be sure to try my best not to bore you," Sarveisa said.
"Why you, a high angel, doing this?" Derke said.
"I think your son has a bright future; I've heard from lord Jamas and your neighbors, he's a prodigy we only see in centuries. And if he becomes a god, who knows he might even show me favor."
Gods had a hierarchy. But even the lowest tier gods had much, much more influence on the heavenly realms than even the highest tier of angels.
Basically, Mihael was her one way to ticket to some particular wish.
"I see… in that case if you prove to be useful, I'd surely show you favor," Mihael said.
He didn't jest. He was serious.
"I-I suppose that's something only a future god would say huh?"
Sarveisa staggered but was intrigued at the same time. An ordinary angel wouldn't even have the courage to speak to her but Mihael was different. And that was the reason she took so much interest in him.
But-
"I'm kind of hungry so-" Yet, the boy did act like a kid sometimes….
"Please come with me," Mina led them to their dining room. They had lunch there.
A rather quiet lunch.
Until-
"That reminds me, Mother, I see you've gained some weight around your belly…"
Mihael knew what that meant but he worded his thoughts carefully because his parents still considered him a little child.
Besides, what if his mother wasn't pregnant?
"Oh, you've noticed? The next time when you'll be back you might have a sister or even a brother!"
Mihael didn't reply. He wasn't all that interested. In his previous life he was the only child, so he never knew about brotherly love.
'Hmm… or was it that- wait- was I really the only child?' For some reason, he kept on remembering this girl-
This girl with small white hair and…
Horns?
What?
He almost got a shiver when he tried to remember her face…
"We will leave tomorrow afternoon, if that's okay with you," Sarveisa said.
Bringing him back to reality. "Sounds good to me," Mihael said.
Although his parents didn't protest, they were not entirely sure if sending their only child would be a good idea or not.
"Ho-how long would this visit be?" Mina stuttered.
Servasia gave a long thought. "I believe it would depend on his aptitude. But one year at the least. And if he's good, our lord might sponsor him for the Godness Gracicus Academy"
Mina was a little disheartened. But she hid her feelings.
In the end they didn't stop him. After all, how could they stand against his future?
He was destined for greatness.
And sooner or later he'd leave his home, just like she'd left her parents' place.
But-
Even so-
Wasn't this too soon?
Just the other day, he was suckling her tits, and how he was going away?
Heart quivering- every time she gazed at her little boy.
And Derke had similar emotions, unlike his wife, he couldn't shed tears. He had to be strong- which was why, all he could do was pat his wife… comforting her.
Silence…
They finished their food, the high angel left for the day, and sometime later Mihael prepared his things that he would need; clothes and all.
"You're really leaving…" Mina said… standing by his door… not quite coming in.
A little boy.
Her little boy.
"Yes, mother… though I will be back home soon…" He said.
"Once every week?"
"Well, that can be tricky, since teleporting long distances-" He stopped.
Or rather, was stopped- as his mother just hugged him tight.
No words-
Only tears-
"I guess, I could always figure something out."
Sobs…
That night… Mina had made quite a feast. Though a little boy, Mihael could eat quite a few things now, and that's why she wanted him to taste all her cooking, remind him that- her cooking was the best in the world!
Or maybe she just wanted him to be proud of her?
***
When the time for departure came both of his parents cried; Derke promised he wouldn't cry- yet he still did... They were angels but they weren't immune to emotions. Their son had finally grown old enough to leave home on his own. A normal one might have needed much more time to leave and maybe that's why they wanted a normal child next.
Yet-
Their firstborn-
"Farewell father, mother," Mihael said, looking back from the arms of the high Angel- floating just above their house.
"Goodbye my son," Derke said.
"Take care, honey!" She shouted.
And so, Mihael's brand new journey began.
