The bright flash of lightning illuminated the dark room, as well as Evander's frozen face.

There was a worried look on his face.

"I'm sorry. It was not intentional. I'm the one who caused all of this. I'm sorry, Evander. I know I'm wrong. I really know I'm wrong!"

"I have already paid for it with my life!"

Watching Florence back away with a pale face, Evander furrowed his brows, not knowing why she suddenly reacted that way.

She was holding onto her knees, shaking her head and crying in pain. Her eyes were wide open, yet seemingly unfocused.

"It hurts. My face hurts!" Florence yelled, holding her face in her hands, in agony.

"Gabriela, don't come closer. Don't come closer!"

Evander wondered why Florence thought her face was hurting.

He thought to himself, "What does Gabriela have to do with this?"

Moreover, there were only the two of them in the bedroom. Gabriela wasn't even there.
