Weiland

"She can see?!"

"What sorcery is this!"

"How did it happen?"

"I am sure Lady Izel would be shaking in her boots with anger at the moment"

"She had always been so stuck up, would be good to put her in her place"

The words filtered through the hallways, through the walls into town, across the sea, and to the other lands of Weiland. Everyone was murmuring and talking about how the 1st first daughter of the Crystal house who was born with blindness could finally see. Every servant, every high-ranking person, every lord.

It was rare to see someone cured of sticky blindness after a single fall from the stairs. It was so intense that most blind people started falling down stairs or jumping from high grounds to test this miracle but they either ended up dead or deformed. Some suspected it was because she was born from a lord that was why it worked.

No one knew that Cerys died that night from a twisted neck and that the person inside her was Eloise.

According to her calculations, it's been three weeks since she arrived in this world and most of the time she has spent it in the library or the garden. Her father had never let her out of their home and she also haven't had a confrontation with her stepmother and sister.

Cerys was too busy with this new world to worry about unimportant people.

Today she spent her time in the garden. Legs crossed, her white hair was free flowing down her back and over her face. Her delicate fingers elegantly flipped the book, the soft breeze running through her hair, and her eyes, and held an apathetic gaze.

She was reading the history of Weiland. The war that had happened a hundred years ago led to the separation of the lands. House black had been in support of the beasts that had come from hell to destroy the world.

From her new knowledge, House Black used to hold a king that ruled the four lands, it was peaceful, and they each had generals that ruled over the kingdom and reported to the king. things changed after a corrupt government came in. The king's son took over and he turned everything upside down. For his search for new power, he had sold his soul to the Dahilaki. He had offered his children, other people's children, men and women as sacrifices. This brought drought, hunger, and famine to the lands.

Earthquake eruptions, climate changes, and higher death rates. That period was the worse. But his son had conspired with the generals to kill the king, but to do so…they too must sell their souls to the Dahilaki, since that was what was required.

To gain back what you lost, you must lose something. The generals had agreed on that on the condition that there shall be no king.

The victory was not certain, they were going to lose. The Dahilaki had deceived and told them they would win and they were naive enough to believe it.

Their families would suffer, to avoid this from happening, to stop seeing the people that had helped him suffer, the King's son had offered the most to the Dahilaki. He killed his father, and he destroyed the Dahilaki for good. Balance was then restored but at what cost?

The generals returned to their homes, and build different houses. They grew old and died, reproduced, and passed their powers to their 1st child. No two heirs had ever had children together before. People fear the unknown but Cerys father doesn't. And he wanted her to marry the heir of the Diamond house unfortunately she was born blind and the Diamond family refused and decided to take Izel instead not allowing her father to test his theory

Now that she can see he is back to pressuring her. This had gotten jealous looks from her step-sibling and mother. Tala even told her the people were rioting and that they want Izel to be the ruler of the Crystal House. They called Cerys a stuck up saying that she never cared enough to step down to take care of her people. Tala told her if she went she would be hit by a tomato.

Cerys shook her head and flipped the pages again. There was no more information about House Black. They were never mentioned in the modern history of Weiland, they no longer interacted with the other lands, and he ostracized himself. No one knew if he married and had an heir or if he died and no one exists there anymore.

Though Pirates could sneak in, to smuggle goods, they never mentioned anything about the king. Just the land is filled with resources and a lot of people. But it's always dark there. Dark and gloomy, though the people were lively. It's hard to live in a country that has no day.

It was said that the other lands had tried to reach out but the king or whoever ruled had never accepted their invitation. Cerys shut the book, the sound resounding across the garden. Another day another book and many more to come.

She can't keep on living like this. What a boring life. No alcohol. No men, just boring and dry.

"For someone who has been blind all her life you sure do read a lot. Makes me think you are just smelling the books rather than reading them"

The sounds of heels clicked and clacked on the pavement of the garden, a younger lady with dark hair and dark green eyes. She walked with enough sass of a ruler, an air of confidence, and a wicked grin that lay on her lips. She was way better than Cerys when it comes to channeling that villain energy.

Izel Sandor, first of her name. The fake heir to house Crystal and my stepsister.

Izel sat down beside her on the Crystal bench that was hanging from an iron chain, she crossed her legs with epitome grace. Her dark hair was in a ponytail, that whipped left when she turned her head to look at Cerys.

"Since you awoke, you have yet to speak anything to me, my dear sister. You used to care so much about me. Took care of my needs and were there when I needed you most. It was the sweetest thing that you could ever do" She bashed her eyelashes together trying to form a cute look which does not suit her one bit. It only made Cerys feel she was trying to make fun of her. She may not remember the interaction the original body owner may have had with this stepsister but one thing is for sure their relationship was anything but good.

Izel burst out laughing, placing a hand over her lips. "You are still so stuck up. Even when blind you act as if you are so important when you are not. At least then it was manageable now it's worse"

Cerys rolled my eyes. "And you are still as fake. Seems like that make two of us, doesn't it?" Her words left Izel dumbfounded. She did not expect that, the Cerys she knows had always kept quiet and walk away. Never saved a breath to talk to her.

Cerys stood up from her seat, she had realized that the push down the stairs was intentional. Since when Izel was asked, she said she didn't notice Cerys was there and she was trying to practice magic.

What a dumb excuse. Funny enough, her father believed her. Cerys was nothing but a burden to them anyways.

"Are you going to walk away?" Izel asked.

"Unless you came to have a chit-chat with me to know how hell looks, then yes I am going to walk away" Cerys took a step forward.

Izel scoffed. "I am here to inform you that winter is close, and father had asked for you to perform the royal rites on that day with your magical powers" Izel yawned lazily. "And we both know that in front of those millions of people watching their yearly tradition happen you would be nothing but a disgrace. Since we all know you cannot channel your power"
