...
A few dozen minutes later, sitting at a long table, Samato saw Niko enter the room, leading a smiling Fomi by the hand. When he saw Samato, he waved his hand happily.
Sitting down next to him, Fomi moved closer and whispered.
- Thank you, little brother, for distracting Aunt Niko. Otherwise, she wouldn't have left me alone.
Samato turned around and put his finger to his mouth and said.
- Later.
Having understood something, Fomi looked around and saw Niko slowly leaving the room towards the kitchen, where an appetizing aroma was coming from. After a dozen minutes of waiting, Ame and Niko entered the room carrying several dishes.
After putting it on the table in front of the children, they returned to the kitchen to bring more. There were several plates of ramen on the table with delicious slices of pork and a fragrant broth in which noodles with egg floated. Next to it was a plate with crumbly rice, vegetables and sashimi from red fish, cut into rectangular pieces. There were also several gravy boat in which there were various sauces.
Ame arranged the last plates with a smile on his face and said.
- Bon appetit.
Fomi, without words, clasping his hands and shouting Itadakimas, began to eat. Samato looked at Ame questioningly.
- Uncle, and you?
Smiling even wider, he said.
- This meal was prepared by me and the servants especially for you, and I will eat later.
Nodding to Samato, having performed the ceremonial actions and taking the chopsticks, he began to eat. The taste of the food was quite tasty, perhaps even close to the level of restaurants in the modern world.
When they finished such a nutritious breakfast and took a little rest, Fomi forcefully dragged Samato to his room. Ame glanced at the children running out and looked in annoyance at Niko standing idle, giving her a sign to follow them. Seeing Ame's annoyance and his order, Niko lowered her head and quickly followed the children.
Quickly moving his small legs, the internally irritated Samato followed Fomi. Soon they approached the door, pushing it aside, they entered a rather neat room.
Releasing Samato's hand, Fomi jumped onto the futon with a running start and reached into the hole in it with his hand. Seeing this, Samato quickly ran up and grabbed the hand that was prowling in the futon.
- I told you not now, Aunt is definitely watching us.
Confused, Fomi listened to his brother, took his hand away and asked incomprehensibly.
- She's not here, how can she be watching us?
- Didn't your father tell you about byakugan?
As if he understood something, Fomi made a face full of epiphany. And muttered in a low voice.
- So that's how she found me. And I thought I was hiding badly. – After looking at Samato, he asked. - Then when will I be able to use them?
- How many pills did you stole?
- I stole 5 pills, but there's still a lot left.
- Well, it is necessary to wait a little, about 3 days.
Raising an eyebrow in confusion, Fomi asked.
- Why take so long?
Looking at his brother seriously, Samato confidently said.
- Is it necessary, or don't you believe me? - Seeing him shaking his head in denial, Samato continued. – Give me the key, tomorrow and after tomorrow you and I will go to father's office. If someone asks you why you went with me, just say that you were interested in reading a few books about ninjas.
- Why?
- It's necessary! - Seriously and as convincingly as possible, Samato said.
...
The next day, two children were sitting on a soft mat in the Hansha's office. Samato with interest on his face, reading an unfolded scroll that told about herbs and their effects. Next to him, with a bored face, sat Fomi, looking at the scroll lying in front of him.
Suddenly the door slid open and Ame entered the room, he looked at the older child with interest and surprise. After being silent for a while and assessing the situation, he threw a fleeting glance at Samato and smiled.
- I would never have thought that you would go to read yourself. What happened?
Fomi glanced at Samato, who was not paying attention and continued to read. He looked at Ame, muttered softly.
- Samato said that there are interesting books about ninjas here and it became interesting for me to read them.
Continuing to smile, Ame stroked the children on the head and said.
- If you really want to read about powerful ninjas, I'll ask Hanshi-dano to add a few biographies. You can come read tomorrow.
Having perked up a little, Fomi looked at Ame and smiled.
- Thank you Uncle.
...
Two days later. The sun was just beginning to rise, quietly leaving his room, Samato entered the next room as carefully as possible. In the middle of the room, sprawled on his back on a futon, Fomi was fast asleep.
Samato quietly walked around room and picked up a white shirt with a wide sleeve lying around, finding a pocket, he put the key in it. After making sure it wouldn't fall out, Samato put it back down and quietly left the room.
Later later in the morning, Samato entered Fomi's room and saw that he had already got up and was cleaning the sleeping place with a dissatisfied expression on his face. Noticing that his younger brother entered the room, his mood lifted a little.
Samato came closer to Fomi, as quietly as possible and began to talk seriously.
- I'll try to distract Aunt Niko and Uncle Ame this afternoon to buy you more time, but you'd better go now. Remember no more than 3 pieces, your body is weak and will not withstand more.
Hearing about the weak body, Fomi grimaced a little and muttered discontentedly.
- Okay, I'll go now.
Crouching down and reaching under the blanket, he began to take out pills. Meanwhile, Samato left the room and went to his own. After waiting a few minutes since Fomi left, he took out a kunai. Looking at his hand, he, gritting his teeth, put the blade to his palm and cut.
Soon, a scream was heard from the room, which attracted the attention of many in the house. Ami and Niko came running to the sound of the tale with frightened faces. It took several hours to calm the "little child".
After which, Ame, with a face full of concern, asked how he got the wound. Samato said that he forgot about kunai, which he put in the closet and today, when he wanted to take a new set of clothes, accidentally hurt himself.
Nodding his head, Ame patted Samato on the head and told him to be careful next time. When he got up, he offered to go to the kitchen to have breakfast. Also rising, Samato followed Ame and Niko.
When they were already approaching the dining room, Samato suddenly stopped and began to quickly climb into his pockets looking for something. Seeing this, Ame stopped and asked with interest.
- What's wrong, kid?
- I can't find the key to father's office. I remember it was still in my pocket yesterday.
Frowning a little, Ame asked again.
- Are you sure?
- Yes, exactly.
Suddenly, the veins near Ame's eyes bulged, and he looked around. The longer he looked, the more he frowned. Soon after seeing something, his face turned white and without saying a word, a whirlwind of lightning formed around him in which he disappeared, surprising Niko who was standing next to him.
