49. Coulson is Torn a new one

"Is that true?" asked May while looking towards their resident doctor Simmons.

"I don't know if what he was speaking the truth in those meetings"

"Simmons" called out Fitz seeing that Simmons still didn't believe Ward

"But if what he said is true then Ward should not meet his brother as there is no way to find out how he will react in front of him," Simmons said completing her sentence while starting at Fitz.

"I am sure Coulson also knows that," May said while looking at the others, "He may have taken Ward with him but he won't let him meet with his brother"

"You really think so May, I think he took Grant with him so that he would deal with his brother. Grant is the only person that Cristian Ward doesn't have control over and he is the only one who knows his dark past and won't be afraid to bring it to light." Skye stated

"He is the only one that can threaten Christian Ward," said Fitz understanding what Skye means.

"Let's not jump to conclusions we can ask Director Coulson or Ward later when they come back" Bobbi stated.

"Agent Bobbi is right if you have any doubts about the Directors decision it's better to ask him directly rather than assuming anything." May said as she started towards Fitz and Skye then continued, "Go back and do your things, when the Director comes back with Ward you can clear your doubts"

May left no room for any discussion as she walked straight towards Coulson's office to look after the Playground. The rest went back to do their things as well leaving the hall empty once again.

2 hours later.

Coulson entered the playground lightheartedly as one of the main headaches was being dealt with by Ward and he knew it was a matter of time before the headache will be totally gone. But when he was walking towards his office he saw all the team members including the new member as Bobbi sitting around the lounge.

The moment he paused in front of the lounge room everyone turned their heads to look towards him.

"What is happening here? Why are you all sitting there and staring at me?" asked Coulson

"We were waiting for you director Coulson" replied Jemma as she stood up from her seat.

"Waiting for me! Why?" asked Coulson though he already knew the answer.

"Because we wanted to ask something from you," Skye said as she stood up only to be grabbed by May who pulled her down to sit back in her seat as she said "Just let Coulson enter and sit he won't be able to walk away then"

Hearing what May said Coulson knew that he can't get away without answering their questions so he entered the lounge and sat on the chair near the bar.

"Did you take Grant with you to meet with his brother?" asked Skye

"Yes" replied Coulson

"Why? How could you do that? Even after seeing the reports that I send you after the daily sessions with him you thought it would be okay for Grant to meet his brother, the person who tortured him in his childhood?" asked Fitz while Trip patted on his back to make him remain calm.

"I asked Ward to deal with him Fitz but it was his choice to accept it or reject it. I also didn't want him to face Christian Ward but it was his choice to do so and he did the job really well" Coulson replied

"Oh come on aren't you forgetting something here A.C. Grant's need for validation is huge. Especially if the person asking something from him is you, someone who gave him a second chance." Skye said hearing which Coulson stopped for second thinking back to his talk with Ward, he accepted the mission without much thinking even though it was t do with his family.

"Wait a minute! What do you mean he did the job really well, Where is Ward?" asked Fitz remembering that he hasn't seen Ward entering the playground yet.

Coulson couldn't really lie this time so he told them the truth.

"Damn not cool boss," Trip said while shaking his head.

Hunter remains silent as he continued to sip his beer.

"You let Grant confront his brother alone and now you let him go to complete the mission on his own where he will meet his parents along with his brother at the same time," asked Skye, Mack who was sitting on the side couldn't help but shake his head even thought he didn't liked Ward since he was a traitor but if what he heard from Fitz was true than sending him to his brother was really cruel of Director Coulson.

"Yes, Agent Ward is going to make sure that they don't enter in SHIELD's way," Coulson said.

"And you never thought that all his meeting with Christian was an act to remain cool because you were listening and to meet all his childhood torturers at the same time so that he could take care of them? He is a highly trained Agent, Coulson" May stated

"Actually that might really be the case," Jemma said while Bobbi beside her nodded her head.

"What do you mean Jemma?" asked Skye

"Coulson asked him to make sure that his family doesn't come in the way of SHIELD in the future, so even if he kills them he won't be going against Director's orders " stated Jemma

"You all are looking down on Ward, he is stringer than that and he has been trying to be better there is no way that he would do something like that" Coulson said

"So them you won't have any problems if we track him down," Skye said

Coulson stared at Skye for few seconds then said "Do it if you want to but keep in mind that you have your own tasks to complete"

Getting Coulson's permission Skye and Fitz jumped on their feet and use the SHIELD servers that were tracking him on the back were fully focused on finding him.

"Were they waiting for my permission?" asked Coulson as he turned his head to look at May who replied with a simple nod.

"Man it ended faster than I thought"
