Chapter 9: Massacre

"No, this must be a fluke! Everyone, continue firing at him." Souou quickly ordered, as he immediately denied what just occurred. Not believing that Jin could have come out unharmed from all of their combined attacks.

And complying with his orders, everyone soon immediately began to charge and fire another barrage of attacks at Jin.

*Boom*

However, as the dust from the explosion began to clear up, Jin could still be seen slowly walking towards them, completely unscathed.

"How! this is not possible." Souou yelled in disbelief as he couldn't believe what he was witnessing.

"I already told you didn't I?" Jin coldly said as he swallowed the surrounding flames

"Your attacks are too weak."

"No! I don't believe that our attacks have no effect on you. Everyone keep firing at him." Souou shouted and ordered out loud in response. As he continued ordering his men to continue firing. Which they all complied to as they all immediately went ahead and launched another barrage of attacks at Jin.

"..."

before long, after a while of continuous attacks, everyone soon stopped and seized their firing

"Did we get him?" someone soon asked

"I think so." another man replied

"Yeah, there's no way he could survive that. "another man added

However, as soon as they began cheering, a cold voice quickly resounded from the scattering dust which abruptly caused them to stop.

"Fire god..."

"Huh?"

"What?"

"No way, did the brat actually survive?"

someone questioned

"Everyone dodge!" Souou immediately yelled out in panic, as he quickly sensed a huge amount of magical power radiating towards their direction

However his warning came a little too late as in the next second a torrent wave of black flames quickly shot towards them and their group was quickly caught in the attack

"Bellow!"

"*Cough* *Cough* W-w-what was that?" one of Souou's men asked weakly as they got up and began to look around

However their face soon turned pale at the scene they quickly caught sight off

There, laying around them on the scorched ground, we're the multiple scorched bodies of their fallen companions. Their bodies completely unrecognizable and covered in black flames as they were gradually engulfed by them and slowly turned into ashes.

"Ahhh" he quickly yelled out loud as he fell back in fright.

"Huh, what happened?" another man spoke up as they also got up.

Yet they were also left completely stupefied as the same scene their companion caught sight of was also reflected in their eyes.

"H-how?" he asked in complete disbelief

"How were half of our forces completely wiped out by a single attack?"

"Calm down and stay focused." Souou soon voiced out as he weakly got up, tightly holding his burnt left arm.

"The enemy is still at large." he warned

"our attacks should have caused him some damage but that doesn't mean we should let our guard down." he said as he looked towards the direction the attack came from. nervously clenching the hilt of his sword with his right hand, as he waited for the dust to clear up.

Gradually though, the dust began to disperse and the area soon became visible to their eyes.

"Are you finished? Jin said as he continued walking towards them, without so much as a scratch on him.

"What! T-t-thats impossible!" Souou stuttered as he took a step back. Unable to comprehend why Jin was able to be completely unscathed after having received so many attacks.

"Alright then." Jin said as he raised his arm up

"Time to finish you all off

and with a snap of his fingers, the golden ripples that were still surrounding them all soon began to start firing countless weapons towards the surviving group of men.

"Ugh!"

"Gah"

"Ahhhhh"

"N-n-no please wai..."

The next second the countless cries of agony could be repeatedly heard as the remaining men were viciously stabbed and skewered by the countless weapons thrown at them at incredible speeds, which left them with no chance to defend themselves.

"Damn you!" Souou yelled in anger seeing his men being slaughtered

"I'll kill you." He shouted as he ran towards Jin, while trying his best to dodge all the incoming weapons, which proved to be difficult as he was constantly cut and stabbed

"Huff, huff, huff, Die!" Souou yelled as he tried to stab Jin with his sword, only for Jin to easily dodge it, which ended with Souou weakly falling face first onto the floor and dropping his weapon.

*Bam*

"Ugh"

"Pathetic."Jin said as he quickly kicked him and threw him away

"Get up, I'm not done with you."

"H-h-how dare you!" Souou yelled in anger as he struggled to get up.

"Shut up" Jin said as he kicked him away a second time.

"You damn brat." Souou yelled as he quickly picked up his sword and got up before rushing in to stab Jin.

Jin however, seeing the incoming attack, quickly reached his hand out and easily grabbed it in between his fingers, which were now covered in dragon like scales, making it resemble more like a claw

"What! How? What are you?" Souou asked in shock.

"You don't need to know." Jin said as he put the rest of his hand around the blade, before clenching it and crushing it into pieces.

"Now then..." He said, as dark flames quickly surrounded his hand.

"You should get going now"

"Wait!" Souou raised his hands up and pleaded

"Don't do this. If you do, the whole Himijema clan will go after you." he said. Hoping to pressure Jin.

"Don't worry. If they decide to mess with me. I'll make sure to send them off right your way to keep you company ." Jin replied as he brought his arm back and quickly went on to pierce him right in the chest. Not feeling the least bit threatened.

*Puff*

""*Cough*, Why?" Souou desperately asked.

*Thud*

the man's lifeless body soon fell back as Jin, quickly pulled his arm out of his chest.

Jin however ignored him and proceeded to step over him as he went on to finish off the rest of the surviving men.

Having made sure that they were all taken care of. He then went on to make his way towards the ruined shrine and proceeded to pick up Shuri's lifeless body as he then went on to leave the scene.

Unknown to Jin though, standing a few feet away above in the air, from the beginning of the fight, stood a silver haired woman. Observing him as he left.

"Interesting." she spoke out loud in a cold yet pleasant voice.

"It seems I've found an amazing candidate."
