Reborn in DxD; Lost in a poorly remembered anime world

Ronald Mallory reborn into DXD with a few cheats but poor knowledge of the world. Join him as he stumbles his way through his new life after painstakingly trying to stay out of the supernatural way... only for his family to move to Kuoh. Uploads will be iffy and inconsistant. Doing this to practice my writing, criticism welcome in that regard. Otherwise, it's just a story and I hope you enjoy. I don't own Highschool DxD.

The Sitri viewpoint

<Sona POV>

Oh dear Satans why did my sister have to be here today? Did my parent's tell her about him? She might kill him! Fortunately it seems my parent's didn't tell her... at least not yet. They were smirking at the back of her head when she said she liked Ronald. Why did mother suddenly announce she had stories of us as kids? No, I couldn't let Ronald hear them!

I called him Ron-kun, I really hope no-one noticed. Who am I kidding, they all noticed probably. Yeah, Ronald was teasing me right now, I want to crawl in a hole and just die. Thankfully he stopped easily and we just chilled with a friendly game of Go. Then I figured him out a little more, he seemed really trusting with his information to me for some reason, his hand was warm and sent shocks through my body when we first touched. Did he feel that inexplicable attraction too? my heart started beating as the thought emerged in my head, but I managed to keep my face calm, though my demonic energy was acting a little erratically, in a way I'd never used it before... it didn't seem harmful though. I opened my eyes and noticed that Ronald really was handsome, and intensely looking right at me. I wanted to tease him a little, see if I could get some reaction from him, but this was more serious right now.

"I could lend you a beginner's grimoir." I said, though I couldn't help a smirk as I watched his face, taking in his alluring eyes staring intently into my own. He asked what the price would be. Well, I was going to just give it to him... but I wouldn't be a devil if I didn't get something out of it, right? I felt a heat rise up in me as I spoke softly in his ear, his thundering heart music to my devilish ears. I knew what I wanted. It would be fine, he was my fiancé now anyway right? He certainly didn't seem to mind. I was drowning in his eyes, his scent, his hand still firmly holding mine. I wanted- no. I'd just met him a few weeks ago. This wasn't appropriate in the least. I felt that from him too, behind the attraction we both felt, the apprehension. I hurriedly schooled myself and lent back away from him. I forcibly controlled as much of my demonic energy as I could.

"Lunch for the rest of the school year!" I said the first thing that came to my mind. Really Sona? Lunch? You couldn't say anything else? I mentally scolded even as I was controlling my energy.

Fortunately I managed to pass this off as a joke, and Ronald and I returned to a more calm, peaceful, and comfortable companionship for the rest of the evening. It didn't really escape me that our hands were still together, but I didn't want to point it out, despite it's slightly rough texture his hand was warm. A little later I was with my family sending off the Mallory's.

"See you at school Ron-kun." I said, feeling my stoic face slip into a smile despite my efforts.

"See you at school Souna-san." Ronald replied.

I didn't like that at all. Not one bit. This time my demonic energy wasn't exactly erratic but it surged in agreement with me. No, if we were calling him kun then he should respond similarly no? It's what friends did wasn't it?

"Chan." I felt my lips turn down and my eyebrows scrunch. I ignored the surprised glances from my family around me, rather enjoying the teasing looks he was getting from his mother and sister. His father figured it out a little later, but the shit-eating grin he had on his face promised hours of torture for Ronald. But I didn't care right now, as I was enjoying a certain satisfaction for what he said next.

"Okay, see you at school Souna-chan." Ronald said as he left.

<Sophie POV>

I hadn't known what to think when the young man was introduced to us. He was handsome certainly, but it was almost as if he didn't exist. When my husband poked him asking if he was a ghost, I knew that he didn't just mean dying from Sona's cooking. It was like his presence wasn't actually there until pointed out. From how Sona was interacting with him though, it was clear to me she liked the boy at least. Which was good. What I didn't expect was for her to hide behind him when Serafall appeared. Usually she'd hide behind Taylor or me. Interesting. Even more interesting was that both Sona and Serafall's eyes were very, very, slightly shimmering when they looked at him and Serafall's quick decision of accepting him. Maybe there was more to the boy.

Over the course of dinner I was pleasantly surprised to find out that both his parents had high-earning jobs and great reputations in their fields. Serafall was ecstatic to meet Gretchen as well considering she was perhaps highly responsible for my eldest's anime obsession due to many of her light novels being converted to anime. We were all surprised though when sword art online also seemed to come from Ronald when he wanted to follow his mother's footsteps. What really caught Serafall's attention though was when the two teens had retreated from story-time was Mave's claim that he was still writing her a unique novel set around magical girls, and had written an entire volume every year for christmas. Only she had the finished copy though.

"Please, let me read it! I could turn it into an anime!" Serafall begged. She was on her knees next to Mave who was giggling into her hand.

"I promised him I wouldn't let anyone know he's good at writing magical girl stories though Sera-chan, and definitely not let others read it unless they were family since our family already knows." Mave chuckled.

"But is it good? No, it doesn't matter. Are the magical girls cute? what about transformation scenes? Please let me read it!" Serafall said again.

I started zoning out their conversation. I knew from here on out Serafall would be doing her best to get that story. After Sona, her biggest obsession was magical girls after all, and a magical girl story she didn't have was sacrilage to her. I just hoped it wouldn't distract her from work... too much.

My husband seemed to be having a very pleasant conversation with Thomas, talking about football or something. Gretchen and I were simply exchanging stories of our kids. It was funny to know that Ronald had jumped off a pier to learn to swim for practice for his first swimming lesson which was two days after. Or how Mave would love running around naked in the snow when she was a kid. But all good things must come to an end, and I went to fetch the two.

What I found was very interesting. The two were holding hands, but more than that, pheremones were in the air, faint and fading but there, and Sona's eyes were glowing and shimmering. I pretended not to notice the pheremones and eyes as I lead them downstairs and saw the Mallory family out, amused at the behaviour of my youngest daughter as she saw her little crush off.

"So, Serafall. What do you think of Ronald-kun?" I asked as our family entered our living room. I took a seat on the sofa, Taylor sitting next to me, and our daughters deciding to relax across from us.

"I like him. I didn't talk to him much but he seems great. Strong too, and good at masking himself, well blending himself to the background, I almost didn't realise he was there." Serafall answered, eyes shimmering slightly.

"Hm, Good. He beat Sona at chess." I blandly stated after hearing Serafall call him strong.

Serafall froze on her seat as Sona paled. I just held up my hand to Sona as I watched Serafall.

"You don't mind do you?" I asked her curiously.

"I don't." Serafall said shocked and trembling a little "Why don't I mind? What is he? I still won't let him marry So-tan on principal though... unless he gives me a copy of that story he wrote and lets me turn it into an anime."

"He's human. As for why you don't mind. I think it's time we have a talk. One long overdue for you Serafall." Taylor said, gaining both girls' attention. "Are you aware that whenever you looked at or were near Ronald that your eyes would glow or shimmer?" They shook their heads. "Well they did, in fact Sona, your eyes are still glowing rather fiercely."

Sona summoned a mirror to check her face and soon become red from embarrasment as Serafall seemed to realise where Taylor was going with this and began shaking her head.

"You can't mean what I think you mean dad, I thought that was a joke." Serafall said, getting Sona's attention.

"We do have succubi/incubbi lineage but the traits in the Sitri family are a bit different. They don't always appear, but they've stirred in the two of you for Ronald similarly how it stirred for me with your mother. This doesn't mean you can only like him though, nor will it force you to do something you don't want to do, likely why your mother didn't find the two of you doing it instead of just holding hands. The Sitri traits stirring just means on an instinctual level you both recognise him as a very good match, and will find yourselves thinking about him in certain ways. Before you ask, his connection to water probably resonates with your connections and would be a likely candidate as to why you instinctually find him a good match." Taylor said. He was adorable as he tried to explain the fact that our five-hundred-thirty-six year old virgin daughter and our eighteen year old virgin daughter both fancied the same eighteen year old human and would both have to learn how to control themselves, just like Taylor did. They, like him, would be too prideful to let their lineage decide who he would lust after... Though I was rather frustrated by the time he decided I was in fact the one he decided on.

"Poo. Fia-chan is going to mock me for being a cradle-robber." Serafall swore as she put her hands over her face. I knew that she was trying to lighten the mood a little. Serafall, as childish as she was, wouldn't be that impacted by the succubi traits as Sona. Sera had near unparalleled self-control among devils... she probably held the record for oldest virgin devil a few times over after all.

Sona just looked contemplatively down at her hands that were lying on her thighs as she chewed on her lip. A look of determination flashed across her face as she returned to the cool stoic Sona. I smiled inwardly. It seemed she wouldn't let her instincts rule her... at least not until she'd decided if Ronald was the right one for her or not.
