She Had Died

In her dream, blood and fire were everywhere. People screamed and shouted, the sound filling her ears.

She was running, stumbling through the darkness, watching helplessly as her friends fell one by one.

"Miss, run!"

"Miss, stay alive!"

"Miss, you must survive. Get revenge for us!"

The woman lying on the hospital bed suddenly opened her eyes, staring at the plain ceiling above. Her face felt damp, and after a few seconds, a tear rolled slowly down her cheek.

At last, she remembered everything. She had come from a war, from a place far, far away.

She had died there.

Her friends had given their lives, hoping to keep her safe, to buy her just a little more time for help to come.

But in the end, the people she trusted the most turned on her.

She had fallen, left behind in that endless sea of corpses.

But in this strange city, there was still one person called Eclipse Rocelyn.

Eclipse took a deep breath, then closed her eyes, pushing down her rage. She forced herself to organize these new memories swirling in her head.

The girl whose body she now had was also named Eclipse.

This Eclipse had been set up on her wedding night by her half-sister and left all alone. She had no family or friends left to stand by her.

Her groom had publicly rejected her, accusing her of terrible things. When she tried to explain, he pushed her, and her head slammed onto the ground.

She had died on the spot.

Suddenly, she heard voices near her door.

"Is she still out cold?" one nurse whispered.

"It's been two days, and she hasn't moved. Maybe she's dead," another replied.

"She deserves it! She almost killed Jessica! She's pure evil."

"If you think about it, it's kind of sad. No one has come to see her. But upstairs, Jessica's room is full of visitors, even Robert. He won't leave her side."

"Jessica's so lucky. But who does Eclipse think she is, trying to compare to Jessica? If she's going to die, she should hurry up."

As the nurses laughed, one of them looked up, gasping as she saw someone standing in the doorway.

Eclipse was there in her thin hospital gown, her long hair falling over her shoulders. Her pale skin glowed faintly, her lips dark red. A fresh bandage wrapped around her forehead.

Her empty eyes stared at them coldly.

"Ah!" The two nurses yelped. Eclipse's gaze was icy, her eyes like a frozen lake. "Please get me some makeup remover, clothes, and shoes."

The nurses nodded, too stunned to speak. Eclipse's mouth curved into a smile, but it wasn't friendly. "I'm not going to die."

The nurses shivered, feeling a chill run down their spines.

"My mother's will left me 20% of the Rocelyn shares," Eclipse continued, her voice calm. "Even if I have nothing else, I still have money."

The nurses froze, their faces turning pale.

Twenty percent of the Rocelyn shares? That was a huge fortune! Did Robert even know?

Eclipse might be down on her luck, but she was still powerful. She had the means to deal with people like them.

Realizing their mistake, the nurses broke out in a cold sweat. "We're so sorry, Miss Rocelyn. We didn't mean any harm. We'll get what you need right away."
