Chapter 7

Azkaban, Hagrid's cell. Hagrid sat in silence for a while before deciding to eat. He opened his pouch and started eating. Hagrid was not aware of the impending danger. He ate his food with relish, enjoying every bite, and thanking who ever cooked his food.

Hagrid ate without thinking about his conundrum. After all, Thinking about the problem won't fix it. So, why should he trouble himself? Furthermore, Hagrid's body can still feel joy, it's only his mind that is affected.

"Hah! "Hagrid sighed blissfully after he finished eating.

"The only good thing about this transmigration is the food. This is the best thing I ever ate. Ever!!" Hagrid said.

Hagrid looked at his pouch and decided to do some lite reading before going to sleep.

He placed his hand inside the pouch and started to think about adventure novels. After all, neither Hagrid nor Jack have read any novels from the wizarding world.

Hagrid retrieved a book and looked at its title.

The title said, Merlin And The Seven Giants.

Hagrid snorted out a laugh at the title. He looked left and right afraid that Disney might come for him.

The novel is on the shorter side about fifty pages. The book didn't have a production date, author name, and looked really old. Hagrid opened the book, and started reading.

He started reading with a bored look on his face. But, after reading a few words his expression started changing. With each word he read, the events of the story were projected into his mind. Making Hagrid feel as if he is he is part of the adventure. It showed a story about Merlin's rise and fall.

Merlin was a young wizard with a great ambition. He wanted to free his kind. So, he rebelled against the giants that enslaved wizards and after a long and arduous journey. He finally manged to defeat the six leaders of the giants race.

He defeated the giant of earth Ardi, the giant of fire Aiden, the giant of wind Aeolian, the giant of water Alton, the giant of darkness Araysh, and the giant of light Anwar. But, in his final battle against the king of the giants, Galdur, he lost his life. He killed the giant, but he died from exhaustion.

However, in his last moments, he used the bodies of the defeat giants to cast a curse on the giant race. He used his last moments on this planet to ensure the survival of wizards.

"Wow! Just wow. This is the greatest experience I've ever had. It's like I was right there with him fighting, killing, and adventuring. Why don't all wizards write their books like this?" Hagrid wondered in amazement. "It's probably a lost art or else all wizards will use this method to write their books. It must be something from Dumbledore's private collection.

After all, it took Hagrid only ten minutes to read the book, which had more than fifteen thousand word. But Hagrid didn't know that the book is not supposed to have that function. Furthermore, the book is wildly available for the public to enjoy. The book is considered a work of fiction because in the history of wizards, giants never ruled over them. Moreover, giants have poor magical talent, so it's impossible for them to rule over wizards, making everyone who read this book dismiss it as a work of fiction.

On top of that, books about Merlin's adventures are numerous, and not all of them are about the same Merlin. Because Merlin is a famous figure in the wizarding world, a lot of newborns were named after him, and he had a lot of imposters. Hence, it became impossible to tell which story belongs to original Merlin, and which story doesn't.

As a consequence, most books related to Merlin were treated as fictitious.

Meanwhile, in Azkaban, outside of Hagrid's cell, the number of dementors kept decreasing, while two dementors Just watched in silence.

They patiently waited for their kind to go away, so they can enact their plan, without being discovered.

Miraculously, for the first time in two hundred years, the skies of Azkaban became clear of dementors. Signifying the release of the imprisoned dementors, hastening the attack on Hagrid.

"It's time! let's go," Zaboren said with unconcealed excitement. "We will do this as slowly as possible in order to achieve the best result."

Bartimus already unable to contain him self screeches impatiently. "Hurry up!! I can't wait any longer.

Hagrid sat in his cell, and started to place the items back in the pouch. While he was doing that, he noticed the weather is growing colder, not caring about the abnormality, he decided to sleep.

However, the air became chilling, and he started to lose control of his emotions. He knew the reason behind the abnormality, using occlumancy, he cleared his mind. But, the chilling atmosphere only kept intensifying, giving Hagrid goosebumps.

Understanding whats happening, Hagrid stared at the wall in trepidation. What made Hagrid fearful, was the fact that the coldness is more intense than when Hagrid lost his life.

Clearly, something is wrong Hagrid thought to himself and he was proven correct, as two dementors passed through the wall.

Thankfully, Hagrid only felt cold, not sadness, which means that the effort he put into his training is finally paying off. Hagrid grabbed his pouch, and started backing off. He kept retreating until his back touched the door of his cell.

While he knew he can't escape, he instinctively tried to run away but unfortunately he couldn't.

The dementors slowly approached Hagrid, Making Hagrid struggle in clearing his mind.

Not only their presence is maddening, but so is their smell. They smelled like a rotten corpse.

Hagrid ignored the smell and the chill, and decided to change his strategy. "If clearing the mind isn't enough, then how about this!" Hagrid said while changing his emotions to anger and then to rage.

The dementors recoiled in bewilderment while looking at Hagrid. Hagrid watched the dementors, make weird gurgling noise at each other as if they are talking. Hagrid felt they were making fun off him and with that thought, his rage turned to hate, and he lunged at them.

However, Hagrid never thought that touching such creatures will end badly for him. If their mere presence is enough to incapacitate the average wizard, then touching them is equivalent to a death sentence.

Naturally, the moment Hagrid's hands made contact with the dementors, his calmness, his rage, and his hate crumpled. And turned to despair.

Hagrid started to remember all the bad memories he had from both lives.

He recalled the moment his mother abandoned him at birth, something he never thought would exist in his memory, he recalled when his giantess mother abandoned him and his father, he recalled his father's death, and most importantly, he recalled his own death and Hagrid's.

While all of this is happening, Hagrid's soul started to shine. Unfortunately, before his soul could affect the physical world, his pouch opened, and produced a suction force powerful enough to suck Hagrid in.

As Hagrid disappeared into the pouch, the dementors started looking around in bewilderment, before their bewilderment turned to rage.

"Aghhhh," Bartimus screamed in rage while Zaboren handled the disappearance of their victim in a much better way.

"Enough! Calm down, Bartimus. He escaped Azkaban, which means he is free game. Now let's go find him before the others come back."Zaboren said in irritation.

However, Bartimus didn't hear a word that Zaboren said. Bartimus has already lost control, and he won't be satisfied until he he kills someone.

But even in his blind rage he knew that he can't kill the prisoners on this floor. So, he looked up, screeched, and passed through the ceiling, his target the top floor.

"dammit! stop!" hissed Zaboren in anger before going after him.
