The bell rang and the lunch period began. I placed my notebooks in my bag then stood up and put the strap of my bag around my shoulder. I walked out of the classroom then sighed. As I walked ahead, I noticed Orika walking towards me.
"H-Hey...d-do you have room for one more?" She asked timidly.
I smiled at her then looked ahead. "Yeah, you can join me. I actually need a friend around, I don't want to be seen as an outcast you know.."
Orika smiled and nodded then walked with me out of the academy building. We walked together to grab something to eat from a nearby fast food restaurant. We walked inside of the restaurant and stood in line.
"You seem to really know your way around a battlefield and tactics. You seemed to answer everything correctly whenever Miss Newton would ask a question." Orika said.
"Well...when your dream is to destroy an entire organization, you've got to know your way around the battlefield." I said and looked around.
Orika nodded and looked at the ground. "I'm not a fighter at all...I would only get in the way if I tried to fight. I know the answers to Miss Newton's questions as well...but I lack the courage to actually answer any of them, fearing I would be wrong at times." Orika said.
I looked at Orika then smiled a bit. "You shouldn't fear being wrong. Failure is a big part of success isn't it? It's like fighting, when you get knocked down it's up to you to pick yourself back up again."
Orika looked at me then smiled and looked down shyly once again. "I couldn't...If I'm being honest I would end up crying eyes out."
We moved up the line and finally was able to order our food. I ordered a burger and french fries while Orika ordered chicken nuggets and french fries. I checked myself for my wallet, but couldn't find it anywhere on me nor my bag.
"I'll pay for us." Orika smiled.
"Ah- Thank you...Must've dropped my wallet when I fell from..." I paused and noticed Orika looking at me. "Fell down in my room. Yeah, I am a clumsy person at times."
Orika smiled and nodded then paid with her card. "I know that feeling. I am very clumsy."
I nodded and smiled then grabbed our bags then we went to eat on the roof of the academy. We sat on one of the benches and talked and ate together. We watched the B Rank Valkyrias run on the track then I noticed Kikyo and Yumeji racing against each other.
"Speed it up ladies! You want to be A Rank Valkyrias right? Hustle! Hustle!" Orishi clapped and yelled.
Orika smiled as she watched them then noticed two women walking towards us.
"This roof is reserved for high ranked Valkyrias only. You two D Ranks need to leave." One of the women said.
I placed a french fry in my mouth then closed my eyes. "This roof is reserved for everyone. One of the C Ranks said so. Get your ego checked before talking to us like you're crazy."
"Hisumi..! These two are powerful C Ranks..! Usagi Fukuyo and Arei Urayama...It's okay, we can eat at the courtyard." Orika said then stood up.
"Nah...I'm staying right here." I said then opened my eyes. "I'm not gonna let some egotistical bitches boss me around as if they own the place."
"Bitches..?" Usagi glared at me. She had long red hair and yellow eyes.
"She isn't talking about us for sure.." Arei said and she crossed her arms. She had short black hair and blue eyes.
"You are the talk of the academy. People saw you with Orishi, Kikyo, and Yumeji. You came here on their famous Battleship. You must think you're top shit huh." Usagi rose an eyebrow.
I looked at them and scoffed. "You came all the way over here to bother us when you had thousands of others to bother. Fuck outta here with that bull."
"Listen, I'm giving you two one last chance to bounce." Usagi threatened.
"Or what..?" I asked.
"Find out." Arei said.
I ate one last french fry then stood up and other students looked at us.
"Hisumi...we really don't have to do this.." Orika said.
"You don't, but these kittens came over here looking for a problem. I'm about to handle the issue." I said then licked the salt off my thumb.
Usagi looked at me and glared.
"Don't let my rank deceive you, Usagi. I'm stronger than you think I am." I said. "Is it really worth the embarrassment if you lose? Are you really going to gain anything if you win? I have everything to gain while you have so much to lose."
"Well...unfortunately for you, in this academy...Fights are common and you're about to experience your first fight!" Usagi said then went for a punch.
I weaved her attack then punched her stomach and she groaned. My eyes shined as my Spirit Energy surrounded my hand. Usagi fell to her knees and held her stomach. Orika looked surprised and was astonished by my strength.
"Oh now you're gonna get it." Arei yelled and ran to me then went for a punch.
I dodged her punch then kicked her leg from under her. She fell to the ground then went for another attack with her leg, but I blocked it then grabbed her leg and tossed her aside. She grunted and rolled on her side.
"Tch...pathetic. Is this all a C Ranker can do..?" I asked then glared.
Arei stood up and yelled then ran to me once again. She went for multiple kicks, but I dodged them all then spun around and kicked her away. She groaned as she hit her back on the fence and panted.
"This new girl is actually kicking ass.." One woman said.
"Yeah...for a D Rank she's strong.." Another girl said.
Iori looked up from her book and noticed me fighting Arei and winning. She closed her book then watched. "That woman is pretty good..."
"C-Careful Hisumi!" Orika said timidly.
I dodged more attacks from Arei then concentrated my aura to generate lightning around my arm then swiped my arm at her as if it was a sword. I hit her and she groaned. I continued to swipe my arm and hit her four times before thrusting my arm at her, striking her stomach and blowing her away. The crowd exclaimed then Orishi walked on the roof.
"Alright, that's enough. Fight's over people! Bell's about to ring." Orishi said then everyone began to pack up. She looked at me. "You. My office. Five minutes."
I looked at Orishi and the lightning around my arm disappeared. I watched her walk away and looked back at Orika. She gave a thumbs up and looked shy.
"You're a really good fighter.." Orika said then bowed as she cleaned up and left.
I sighed then looked at my hand. I left the area and used my map to find Orishi's office. Once I found her office, I walked inside and looked at Orishi. She was sitting at her desk and looked at me.
"Come on, first day and already a fight with some high ranking Valkyrias?" Orishi said.
"Look, it wasn't even my fault. Me and my friend were just having lunch and they began threatening us. I had to shrink their stupid egos down to size." I said.
"You used Elements against her. Kinda overkill don't you think? These are your peers not your enemies." Orishi said.
I looked at her and shrugged. "The hell's the problem? They came at me. Don't come for me if I didn't send for you."
Orishi sighed and tapped get nail on her desk. "Even though fights are common on campus, they do not recommend the use of elements in silly disagreements. Elements are extremely dangerous and if you would've kept going, a student would have died."
"I don't know what you want me to do." I said.
"Look, I get it. Those two can be assholes alright, but don't treat them like they're Judgement please. For the love of the Sovereigns, next time you fight just use your physical abilities and not elemental capabilities." Orishi said. "Please?"
"Fine sure...whatever." I sighed and crossed my arms then turned around to the door.
"And one more thing." Orishi said and looked at me. I looked back at her. "Your form was flawless. I'm impressed."
I looked at her and noticed her smile. I smiled back a bit. "Thanks."
"Now get to class. I'll notify Alice that I held you up." Orishi said.
I nodded and left her office to go back to class. I looked at my hand then closed my eyes. The lightning element fried my nerves a bit and I couldn't feel my arm at all. I couldn't truly control the elements, but with enough concentration I was able to prevent it from going out of control. I sighed and lowered my hand.
I walked back into class and Alice looked at me as well as the other students. "Sorry I'm late."
"No it's fine, Orishi told me why." Alice smiled then noticed me holding my arm a bit.
I nodded and went to take my seat. Orika looked at me and smiled a bit. I smiled back at her a bit then we put our focus back on Alice and her lessons.
