A Challenge from Khorne

(Khorne/Blood God POV)

Location the Warp, Neutral Space-Infinity Fountain Resting Place

Before my brother returned to the Immaterium, I had already sent my consciousness to the Neutral Space, trusting my beloved wife Valkia to manage the Blood Lands.

So I waited in the Infinity Fountain's resting place, and upon sensing, Laharl has not only returned from the Materium but his body I sent my psychic call to him and soon after I felt another force of Chaos start to manifest in the space.

In front of me, the massive winged shadowy figure with swirling shades of violet began to emerge, I could feel that my brother had become much stronger than he once was, plus I sense another divinity this did irk me some...but strangely I felt pride of being his brother and rival for the throne over the Chaos Gods.

While this feeling was very foreign to me, I composed and calmed myself as I greeted my older brother...

(Laharl/Carnage God POV)

As I answered Khorne's call and manifested myself into the Neutral Space, I saw that my brother, the Blood God, was already waiting for me as he greeted me in his own rage filled way, "LAHARL!!!! YOUR LATEST CARNAGE HAS AMUSED ME!!! FOR THAT I RESPECT YOUR STRENGTH...BUT...!!!!" immediately after he made that pause on his speech I knew what he was going to say next...I mentally sighed and prepared myself for this soon to be encroaching headache...

Khorne continues to speak, "YOU BEEN HIDDING SOMETHING OF GREAT INTEREST FROM ME BROTHER!!!!" playing ignorant, I responded, "What are you talking about, brother? What am I hidding?" despite being a mass of shadow at the moment, I know that Khorne can imagine seeing a shit-eating grin on my face and to tell the truth I'm quite enjoying messing with the infamous Blood God of Warhammer.

I heard Khorne growl in annoyance and felt the surge of power emanating from his rage, not wanting to let things to further escalate I laughed softly before speaking, "Calm down Khorne I'm only having some fun." sighing as I turn my tone serious and continue to talk, "You're talking about my Avatar. And the question is...what do you want with it?" saying this made our conversation serious, and a brief silence occurred.

Then Khorne, after he sighed and calmed himself he spoke to me again, "Why I care, brother? Is that, that avatar is better served me than you, Laharl." hearing this, of course, made me angry, but I've basically created this place for the Chaos Gods have discussions and have neutral area.

While my brother is quite, if not purely prideful deity he isn't arrogant seeing my avatar the Infernal Destroyer as the ultimate tool to not only wage endless war and cause unimaginable amount of bloodshed but doing it personally, making it a prize that all my siblings would wage a never ending attacks to obtain it.

I should know I made it for that very purpose of being a commander from the front instead of my throne.

In 40k, the Chaos Gods are bound within the Warp because the Materium can't handle their physical form, godly power, and mortal can't handle the concept of our true strength.

But all fans know the real reason is the lore that devs had for Warhammer have created so they don't have to make minis of Khorne, Nurgle, Tzeentch, and Slaanesh while they do make the Necrons' Star Gods...and once again I go into my fan-rants but what I was originally thinking that with knowing these rules of Warhammer I made the Avatar to bypass them and enjoy myself by joining wars and maybe it'll be the key into fighting in other worlds as well.

Enough of that train of thoughts, I focused on my brother Khorne, who started talking again, "I saw this avatar which you have named the Infernal Destroyer on Ymir, quite closely after sensing that display of power you did on that little planet. I commend and admire what you did. Demonstrating the power of the Dark Gods, but that avatar is wasted on the likes of you brother!!! It should be in my hands, as the God of War it should I that charges into countless battles surrounded in a sea of blood!!!" he exclaimed, then Khorne stretched out his right and pointed his finger at me and continued speaking, "NOW GIVE ME WHAT SHOULD RIGHTFULLY BELONG TO THE GOD OF WAR!!!!!"

Once Khorne spotted yelling out his demands, I spoke, "Khorne...I created the Infernal Destroyer, so can lead and revel amongst the Carnage. You're the Chaos God of Honor, and War so you must understand. That a true leader leads from the front, not the back...even if that said leader is a daemonic deity of another dimension. But my point still stands." taking a short pause from my speech, I started to release my power in a clear show of strength, domination, and annoyance.

I know this will barely intimidate a being such like my brother, but there was still a principle that we including our future siblings, and enemies of other patheons share is ego and pride, and Khorne has clearly about to step over the line with me.

But just like all my emotions were nearly reaching their peak, all my anger, aggression, and hostility was being forcibly restrained...that it.

I finally saw Khorne's plan, he is using my divinity of Promises, and the oath we forged to his advantage against me.

Well I have to say that my little brother has impressed me, but once someone see your hand before being completely played, they can still counter as I reel back my power, closed my eyes and calmed myself as this discussion has turned into a litteral debate between Chaos Gods...

(General POV)

Location Deep in the Warp

On the opposite sides of the neutral space where the massive fountain spewing all forms of chaos corruption from the statue heads resides, two brothers argue, challenge, and discuss about the deserving ownership of the Avatar that the Dark One created.

As they did this, their respected realm continued preparing for the coming of the third Chaos God, Nurgle as deep within the Warp at the far edges of both Laharl's and Khorne's specific domains the surge of decay, pestilence and death was starting to literally fester into being as a massive sphere like cocoon of greens, sickly yellows and decayin flesh tones resembling the one that Khorne originated from was growing in size, mass, and power.

The death, plague, and rot festering the galaxy from the farthest world to those suffering from the latest daemonic invasions the corpses left behind brought sickness, and sickness brought desperation and begging feeding this growing entity which in turn was swiftly shaping the Immaterium surrounding it.

While it is still dormant and non-sentient, this newly gestating Chaos Gob grows and wallows in the undirect worship and prayer being sent to him...

Location the Neutral Space-Infinity Fountain Resting Place

Still, the two Chaos Gods brothers were arguing, both growing more and more annoyed of their discussion, but in truth, both the Blood God and the Dark One were actually awaiting for the right moment to strike which seems to be Khorne's opportune moment to do so.

Khorne knew he couldn't take the Infernal Destroyer by force at the moment because of his brother's divine oath bounding him, plus his own honor prevented him from doing so anyway.

If they weren't bound, he would have taken the avatar by attacking the Nethervoid, but something was blocking his vision, so he doesn't know where it was making the war epic while he will love the violence, bloodshed, and brutality of another war between them, without knowing where the Infernal Destroyer is it will be a blind battle attacking everywhere with the goal being somewhere else especially with his brother's damn Warp Tesseracts.

Khorne knew that his brother had hidden the avatar, under power chaotic forces to prevent him and their future siblings from taking it and the Blood God in all honesty he'll also will hide the Infernal Destroyer deep within his own domain once he has claimed it.

Taking his chance, Khorne spoke once more in a challenging manner, "ENOUGH!!!! This isn't getting us anywhere, brother. Once our pact is done, we'll wage war over the Avatar, and we both know that eventually, our siblings will thrive to fight and claim it as well." taking a pause, Khorne looked at the manifestation of his brother sigh and nod in agreement of his statement, which pleased Khorne using it as an opening to attack and form a just challenge to win the Infernal Destroyer from the Dark One.

Khorne, while not a schemer in reality he despises schemes, underhanded tactics, and traitorous acts he is a War God and thus a cunning but both brutal and blunt tactician, and little did he know that Laharl also knew this and is waiting for him to finish his move.

Once again Khorne started to speak again, "Despite me relishing this all out war between us and our other siblings, and also let's be truthful you will clearly relish all the carnage brought on by these battles for the avatar. In truth, it will be, but another nuisance for all of us to fight for it and steal it from each other over and over. Don't you agree, my brother?" as Khorne waited for Laharl's response, the Dark One had to admit that GW don't give Khorne enough credit he is much more smart, tactical, and cunning than game lore, but same can be said about Nurgle and Slaanesh as they focus more on one aspect of their whole than everything else they are and represent...with the exception of Tzeentch GW have that major troll completely fleshed out.

After Laharl was done thinking all of that, he decided to follow with Khorne's obvious trail and trap and simply replied with a nod and asked, "I'm guessing you have some solution to this problem, Khorne?" Khorne stared at him quietly before in the same manner responding with a nod.

Finally, Khorne expressed that only a worthy God of Chaos should have such a mighty tool under their respective control, and the Blood God went into further detail that went to include the upcoming battle they'll wage with Nurgle.

Mentioning this has provided Laharl with not only the opportunity to counter Khorne's plan but also all his other siblings that will come in the future.

Khorne expressed that their current contract can be expanded upon further with the Infernal Destroyer as another prize for the victory, he mentioned that as Laharl is the God of Promises he can survey and maintain the challenges waged for the avatar between all the Chaos Gods, the Dark One grinned inside his mind as Khorne's challenge was the answer to all future involvements that involves Laharl's avatar, plus his own [Promises] divinity will play a great role and shield against his siblings and their minions, especially with Tzeentch and his damned Changeling servent.

Laharl thought that answering this call of his brother has proven much more beneficial to him, plus he thought "Who doesn't love a good challenge. Especially from family." so with the both brothers having shown their respected hand it was time to end this little game between Blood and Carnage.

Finalizing the new well rules of engagement involving this challenge and what each of them will risk to win everything in the pot.

In the end, one thing was certain in the mind of each Dark God, aside from having absolute confidence in their victory was that this new chapter in the Great Game was going to be quite exciting for them.
