Rebirth with the Rinnegan(Naruto Fanfiction)

Choosing to be reborn into the world of Naruto, a young man sets out on a journey for peace in his own way. Expect my take on a realistic depiction of this world with blood and all, NO HAREM. This isn't my main story just a side project I'm doing to relax so be aware of that. I don't own the Naruto brand/series or the cover art, if you own either and want this story/cover removed just speak up and it will be done.

CHAPTER START---

Sitting in his living room, Jin casually enjoys a bowl of cereal as Karin sits across from him taking notes.

"Are you sure about this, seems kinda early right?" she eyes the notes he dictated.

"Hmm, that's the point. I don't know when they make the big move against Konoha, so I'd like to be prepared. I can't pull off something on such a scale in all the other villages at once but I can make them hurt at least, have those packages delivered discretely."

"Alright, anything else?"

"Mmm, yeah, send the angel a letter anonymously, 'Should anyone see the paper angel's face, the world will never know pain, always hide from old Toads and Leaves', and sketch one of my Rinnegan at the end. Yeah, that'll do."

"What's that even supposed to mean?"

"It means if she wants to be useful for me she better keep her face hidden so I don't have to kill her. I can't be associating with KNOWN terrorists after all," Jin takes a sip of his juice.

"Right, next?"

"That's about it, assuming Unity Trading is prepared with stockpiling the emergency warehouses for the five big nations, well?"

"Been ready for a few weeks, dry rations as well as water and medicine. Daily necessities too. Oh and timber to the villages not surrounded by forests like this one."

"Good job, you've still got a few days here, anything planned?" he finishes his food.

"Nothing much, your girlfriend works at a flower shop so I'm gonna bother her today, that's about it. You need anything else?"

"Nah, just don't stay in the leaf too long alright, things can go bad at any time," he gives her a stern warning.

"Yeah, I'll be careful, gotta go," she stores the notes in a thumb-sized scroll before leaving the apartment.

"Right, now to see what the other blonde wants...great," he grimaces at the thought of what nonsense is about to be thrown his way.

An hour later, Jin strolls through the forest toward training field 7, feeling a hundred identical chakra sources waiting for him, he can't help but groan at what nonsense he's about to get involved in.

"Yo whaddya need?" he gives a small wave to the army of clones and Kakashi who sits under a tree observing the training.

Naruto was currently trying to cut leaves still, unable to use as many clones as he would have been able to with Yamato helping, Jin almost grinned at the sight, he loves it when a plan comes together.

"Oh, your friends here Naruto!" Kakashi calls out as he puts his attention back on the book in his hand.

"HEY JIN!" the excited blonde runs over to his friend," can you help me train?"

"Ugh, I already told you I'm not your babysitter, your teacher is sitting right over there," he points at Kakashi who just waves at him.

"Yeah, but I just need to see the Jutsu you did, sensei told me even my dad couldn't do it so maybe...I dunno... if I got a real good look it would help me somehow..." Naruto looked like a kicked puppy as his gaze lowered to the ground while speaking.

"Sigh, training not going as fast as you hoped?"

"It's faster than most people, but, I know I'm still far from Sasuke, and I'm way further from you. Can you help me please, just this once!" he made a prayer gesture with his hands while leaning forward respectfully.

"Mmm, just this once, got it?"

"THANKS JIN, you're the best," Naruto instantly cheers up.

"Don't blink ok," he says while looking at the tree line opposite them," take a few steps back, get to where Kakashi is," Naruto happily backs up to his sensei.

'Rasenshuriken'

Much slower than even Naruto's Rasengan, the neutral chakra swirls in Jin's hand, "Now I mix the wind chakra," a new shade of white appears swirling in the mix of blue chakra, "then you need to hold it away from yourself, this isn't just one attack alright, its a countless stream of wind needles that destroy chakra, if you get hit by it then you might not ever be able to use chakra in that body part again," he looked over his shoulder to see Naruto with stars in his eye beside Kakashi who stared at the jutsu with his Sharingan.

"This is the dangerous part now," he expands the Rasenshuriken to full size in his hold, "the problem starts here, you can't actually throw it as it is, so when it expands your hand will get caught in it," he gives Naruto a serious look.

"High-risk high reward, but the risk seems way too high then, not using chakra in maybe an entire arm for one attack..." Kakashi points out.

"Exactly, but remember, I said---"

"As it is, that's what you said, that means you CAN throw it then!" Naruto points out, surprising Jin with how fast he caught one.

"Yup," he throws the jutsu into the treeline.

The sound of air being sliced is heard before an explosion rocks the area, Howling winds tear apart dirt and stone as a crater is left in the wake of his attack.

"WOW, I'm gonna be able to do that too!" Naruto runs up to the crater to inspect it.

"That's some jutsu, I'm surprised you don't use it more..." Kakashi admits as he walks up to Jin, they both stand and watch Naruto jump into the crater.

"Wouldn't be Jin 'Of the five elements' if I just used one move right. Besides, it's pretty straight forward and I can only throw so many, my regular jutsu have been enough so far."

"Hmm, how did you manage to throw it anyway?" Kakashi was genuinely curious.

"Mhm, wouldn't be much fun if I gave all the answers now would it."

"Fair enough, now I'm curious what other powerful Jutsu you're hiding..."

"Hahaha, oh Kakashi, if only you knew. Well, I've gotta go check up on this pregnant lady so good luck training the knucklehead," Jin flickers away from the training field.

'That kid, is a monster,' Kakashi looks back over to Naruto as he crawls out of the crater,'if you can't bring Sasuke back, Jin will definitely kill him.'

"Sensei did you see how cool that was?" Naruto runs up to Kakashi almost bouncing in place from excitement.

"Naruto, now that you've seen a bit of what your friend can do, do you realize what his strength means should you fail to bring Sasuke back?"

A grim silence falls over the duo as Naruto stares at the ground for a moment, looking up with a fire blazing in his eyes.

"I WON'T FAIL SENSEI, JUST WATCH ME!" Naruto immediately resumes his training.

Arriving at Kurenai's new house with Asuma, Jin can be seen holding three boxed lunches as he knocks on the door.

After a few moments, Asuma opens the door, his chakra still not fully recovered, still recovering from his system being forced to overload.

"Glad to see you doing well Asuma," Jin greets him with a small smile while handing him the food.

"Uh, what's this, and thanks," the bearded man leads him toward the living room.

"Octopus lunches, her favorite, well aside from Sake and Vodka but ya know, the baby and all that," Jin shrugs as they enter the living room to see Kurenai sporting a larger belly now.

"Jin, you're actually on time for once, guess things really have changed," she doesn't get up to greet him, opting to keep her feet up on the coffee table.

"Yeah, the baby feels strong, can't tell the gender but you can probably guess the chakra affinity," he gives Asuma a knowing smile while taking a seat opposite them.

"Huh, you can sense the baby, you can sense the affinity?" Kurenai asks without looking up at him, already opening one of the boxes of food.

"Yeah, guess you could say I was second to know about the baby, sensed the little bean a few weeks before our first run-in with Akatsuki," he casually waves his hand as if it were the most normal thing in the world.

"That would actually make you the first... that's kinda creepy, thanks for not robbing us of the surprise at least," she gives him an unsure look," I didn't know you were that ridiculous of a sensor..."

"Oh you have no idea, once I'm familiar with someone, if I focus hard enough they can't hide from me."

"Still the same scary kid, at least you're more relaxed now," Asuma adds.

"Yeah, just going with the flow now. So did you call me here to catch up or needed something? Not like I mind either way."

"Well, for obvious reasons I can't be in the field," she rubs her belly to emphasize her point," so... could you possibly take over team 8 for me?" she clasps her hands together as if praying toward Jin.

"You know I don't like being tied like that," he groans out with a frown.

"If they don't have a captain then their growth will be slowed."

"Don't they all come from the head households of big clans, they should be fine."

"He has a point there," Asuma adds only to be cut off by a harsh glare from Kurenai.

"Working outside of their clan will allow them to become more well-rounded shinobi, please Jin, lead team 8 for me, can't you grant this pregnant woman's wish," she hits him with her best puppy dog eyes, unsettling how well she does it.

"Sigh, you're cute but not that cute Kurenai."

"HEY!" she yells defensively.

"And even if I wanted to take over, I literally can't, the princess has me on Akatsuki duty in case those idiots pop up again. I can't go running around the continent when I'm on call. Sorry."

Shooting a concerned look over to Asuma, Kurenai can't help but agree with the Hokage's decision. Jin already proved he could handle someone from the Akatsuki, this was the best course of action.

"Alright, I suppose team 8 will be put on Hiatus until one of my students is ready to take up the torch," she gives him a no-nonsense look, it was clear who she wanted to take her place.

"Heh, maybe try Kiba, he'd probably be a good teacher," he awkwardly smiles at her," prodigies tend to be shitty teachers apparently."

"Yeah that's pretty accurate, they can't teach regular people," Asuma groans as he remembers training with his dad.

"Yeah, well I've gotta go, and I can feel Shikamaru coming this way anyway, I'll see you around, and make sure to call me if you or the baby needs anything alright," he gives her a soft smile.

"Of course, I won't hesitate at all," her expression softens as she looks up at him.

With no hesitation, he gets up and walks over to them, with a deft motion he reaches down and envelops Asuma in a tight hug.

Both shinobi are completely caught off guard, Jin isn't affectionate like this with anyone but Ino, this is completely new. Maybe he felt guilty for Asuma almost dying?

Before the man could even return the hug, Jin pulled away, lifting his right hand up to show off a pack of cigarettes.

"Smoking isn't good for you, I'm taking there," he looks from the frozen and wide-eyed Asuma to the completely livid woman on the couch," good luck with her," he gives him a devious smile while walking toward the front door.

"YOU BROUGHT CIGARETTES IN MY HOUSE!" He could hear Kurenai screaming all the way from the roadside as he walked away from the love-filled home.
