Against Skeletons

After my rest I warmed myself up with some stretching and towards the direction of the skeletons. I stood at the same place I stood before while looking towards the direction of the skeleton.

Even though I am able to use magic that doesn't mean I can use them practically and during fights that's why I am thinking of a plan. I already have a good plan in mind which goes well with magic so right now I am calculating how much mana I will use.

I might sound a bit paranoid but I have read many novels where the mc experiences a near death experience because his mana pool becomes empty. At the very least that mc will be saved by the almighty Author one way or the other. I don't have anyone as I am writing my story myself.

*Huuuuuffffffffffff…..

I breathed slowly but steadily while meditating with my eyes closed as I was preparing myself for the upcoming battle. After a few seconds I opened my eyes and was looking towards the skeletons with determination.

I bent down and faced the palm of my right hand towards the ground. After a couple of seconds a glowing brown colour magic circle with six runes in the ring appeared. This was my earth spell called Earth control.

Most of the natural elements which are present in the world can be used as magic through two ways. One creating that element itself through mana or two controlling the element which is already present through mana.

Earth element is mostly used in the latter. The six runes are connecting the ground underneath my feet to me. Now it is up to me to use this to manipulate the Earth as I wish but this is even more complex than you think.

If a certain outcome can be acquired using the whole mana pool then the outcome can be acquired by using only a quarter of the mana pool. Both of these things can happen depending on how the caster wills it. This is one of the cons of controlling existing elements.

'Pit'

After a few seconds of deep concentration I finally casted the spell. The earth around me started shaking while the surface of the whole room created a huge pit causing all the skeletons to fall and lose their balance.

It really took a good chunk of MP from my Mana pool. I would have liked to increase the depth to the point that the skeletons can't come out of it but if I had done that then the Mp consumption would have been a lot which would have caused a hindrance in my plan.

Without wasting a single second I stood up and casted another spell.

'Explosion!!'

An orange coloured magic circle appeared in front of my right palm. The runes were the same as water shot spells, just that instead of water there was a fire element.

A slightly bigger tennis size ball of fire appeared in front of the circle which was aimed towards the pit of Skeletons. The ball went with extreme speed towards the pit and when it made contact with a skeleton from the pit….

A huge explosion was created causing the flames to be caught on the other skeletons as well. Some of them directly died while some of them were caught on fire.

Notifications of gaining exp came but I completely ignored them as I prepared another explosion spell. Even though I call them explosions they are not explosive or anything. I just increased the density of the flames while also making them as small as possible. This creates a concentration of fire in the result leading to spreading at the moment of contact.

Even though it might seem easy it is not as one should have a precise calculation to not cause any malfunction which can harm even the caster himself. This also caused a timer to be created. Unlike normal fire balls which I can keep around for a couple of minutes according to the Mp given to it, the explosion had to be used before ten seconds after casted or else it would burst then and there.

I casted 4 explosion spells across four different parts of the pit which caused the pit to become a burning hell. After casting this many spells I finally decided to fight head on with the remaining who were already caught on fire. I kept around 40 Mp for backup if things really became dirty.

I even leveled up once and started fighting again. I was not doing anything much because the strength of skeletons lied in their overwhelming numbers.

Individually they were no better than Slimes. I just chopped their heads off their body and crushed their heads under my feet until the green light in their eyes completely disappeared.

After around 10 minutes I had already cleared the whole room without any signs of undead. The only thing that remained now was the charred room with black smoke. Just to check I opened my status screen.

Hmm, I have also reached halfway to reach the next level. This dungeon has 10 floors then that means that I can reach the tenth level without any hitch.

Another thing to note is that I didn't get any mana organ from the skeletons which was expected due to their low levels but I also didn't get any return stone. When I thought about the return stone, my eyes went towards the small cave which would lead me to another room or something similar.
