Chapter 24: Call me brother

A week had passed yet I still have not found a good enough partner for Hui Qing. Is there seriously no one in this world worthy of her? At this precise moment, I was in the car with Qi Yan as he was driving me back to the dorm after having dinner with me. When Brother Gu called me. Gu gege was Wei Wei's eldest brother and I've known him since young as I was close with Wei Wei. But I and Gu Ling Yi weren't that close enough to call me out of the blue unless it was related to Wei Wei.

Phone call:

Hui Qing: "Hiya, brother Gu is there anything I can help you with?"

Gu Ling Yi: "Hello Qing Mei-mei the thing is I kinda need a little help from you,"

Hui Qing: "Oh, how can I help you?"

Gu Ling Yi: " Can you set me up with Hui Yun?"

Hui Qing: " Why? It's not like you to ask me,"

Gu Ling Yi: "I did ask Hui Yun to have lunch with me, but I was rejected,"

Hui Qing: "haha I never knew I would live to hear you being rejected by someone,"

I laughed heartily as brother Gu continue to mumble at how I should be helping him then laughing at him. But wait this didn't happen in my last life... Maybe I can change the future. I don't even know what the future holds now too many things have changed. I stopped Luo Wen Ning's plan so maybe Fu's company would never fall? So maybe there is hope for my and Qi Yan's relationship...

After a stifling my laughter I asked again :

Hui Qing: "eh isn't the young master Gu a playboy and normally flirts with girls around him. Who knows how many young lady hearts you've broken. Why would I set Hui Yun up with a time bomb like you? What would I do if her hearts shattered?"

Gu Ling Yi: " I don't deny I'm a playboy but I only did that to capture her attention. But not only did it backfire I also earned the nickname of being a playboy. "

Hui Qing: "How did you even meet her? In my memory, she never met you."

Gu Ling Yi:" Remember Wei Wei's 10th birthday? She won the prize and her reward was to have a dance with me... Love at first sight"

Hui Qing: "Oh yeah I remember to know. I'll ask mei for you but I don't know if it will work,"

Gu Ling Yi: "Thanks."

Hui Qing: No problem. Bye, brother Gu. I'll text you.

The call ended and only then did I notice the quiet and cold atmosphere. "Isn't it cold in here?" I asked. "Call me brother!" Qi Yan mumbled quietly. Did I hear that correctly? What's up with him these days? He seems to get jealous too often. "Huh," I asked timidly whilst my brain wired itself trying to think of a comeback for this green-eyed prince.

"You called this Mr Gu, brother twice yet you've never called me brother," he explained as he stopped the car. We were right outside my dorm. I unbuckled my seatbelt leaning toward Qi Yan and I kissed him on the lips whilst saying "Bye Qi Gege,". I rushed out of the car and headed inside the dorm leaving the flustered Qi Yan shocked.

My face had already toned down a few tones when I stepped inside my dorm but there was no one inside. I check the notice board above the set of drawers and indeed there was a note on it for me. When we moved into this dorm we had all decided to set up a notice board in case we wanted to tell each other something. So Wei Wei was in the library researching her assignment. Cheng Li had gone out with her boyfriend Du Gu Mu Xue. A Japanese transfer student. And Fang Feng had gone home to have dinner with her family. 'Don't wait for me' she added as I laughed heartily. So looks like I and Wei Wei are eating alone tonight.
