Fighting a Monster!

The blood was flowing out of Kai's hand, but he just washed it into his jacket. He didn't want the weapon to slip out of his grip.

Glaring at the monster who was thrashing around in pain, Kai tensed his hinge legs and was about to dash towards the beast when the monster suddenly swiped its tail hitting Kai right in his body.

Swish...

Like a broken doll, Kai flew through the air and crashed into the tree, breaking its trunk.

'I was careless...'

Luckily, he managed to minimize the damage by strengthening his back with Lunar Energy. Since he had two lifetimes of experience Kai was already experienced and knew some tricks that a normal teenager wouldn't.

A dim, almost invisible golden glow surrounded his body as Kai covered it with Lunar Energy.

Grip...

Clenching his bone spear he looked at the Charrogg, who was menacingly staring at him, its jaws slightly parted, revealing its sharp teeth.

'Turtle like bastard!'

Kai didn't like this monster, because of its excessive defense properties, but it wasn't that big of a challenge, especially when the monster was wounded.

He began to circle around the Charrogg, dashing from side to side, trying to find an opening in its defenses. The beast was massive, and its thick, armored hide seemed almost impenetrable.

But Kai was determined, and he knew that this creature had a fatal weakness. Its Agility!

As he circled around the beast, he noticed that its attention was focused solely on him. It seemed to have forgotten about the wound on its side.

He sprang into action, leaping towards the beast with all his might. His bone spear glinted in the sunlight as he thrust it towards the Charrogg's side, aiming for the wounded area.

The beast let out a deafening roar as the spear pierced its flesh, and Kai knew he had struck a vital spot. He twisted the spear, causing even more damage to the creature's insides.

Thud...

The monster used its superior size and was about to crush him with its limb, but Kai managed to evade the attack, by kicking the ground and retreating backwards.

The red liquid that gushed from the wound stained the surrounding grass, creating an eerie yet mysterious scene.

Kai kept circling the monster striking it with precise spear attacks, wounding it further and dodging all of the creature's attempts to attack him.

The durable armor the Charrogg had started cracking, due to how powerful Kai's spear attacks were. After becoming an awakened, Kai's body had undergone some significant changes that increased his strength by a minor realm.

( Minor Realms are stages in between the ranks: G- → G → G+ )

Even a Baron Rank monster with durable armor couldn't withstand attacks that seemed to target its weak points with precision. It was as if the human possessed knowledge of the creature's anatomy and exploited its vulnerabilities. The armor, no matter how durable, proved to be no match for Kai's skilled strikes.

Crack...

Finally, a stone plate covering the monster's injured side shattered, revealing a gruesome wound beneath. The sight was enough to turn the stomach of even the most seasoned warrior.

Kai knew that the beast wouldn't survive much longer, but he couldn't afford to linger. The sound of their battle would have surely attracted other predators, and Kai needed to finish the fight and make his escape before they arrived to claim the kill.

Kai gritted his teeth as he continued his assault on the Charrogg, determined to bring the beast down once and for all. He had come too far and suffered too much to let this opportunity slip through his fingers.

The Charrogg roared in pain and frustration as Kai's spear dug deeper into its wounds, causing more and more damage with each successive strike. Its thick, armored body was no match for the precision and strength of Kai's attacks, and the beast was beginning to show signs of weakness.

Despite its size and power, the Charrogg was no match for Kai's experience and skill. He had spent two lifetimes learning how to fight and survive in the harsh, unforgiving world of the Awakened, and he knew exactly how to take down a beast like this.

As the battle raged on, Kai could feel the adrenaline pumping through his veins, fueling his movements and sharpening his senses. He was a blur of motion, dodging and weaving around the Charrogg's lumbering attacks and striking with deadly precision whenever he saw an opening.

Despite the damage he was causing, Kai knew that the fight was far from over. The Charrogg was a formidable foe, and it would take every ounce of his strength and skill to bring it down.

But he was not afraid. He had faced tougher challenges before, and he knew that he had the strength and determination to see this battle through to the end.

As the minutes ticked by, Kai's determination only grew stronger. He would not let this beast stand in his way. He would not let it escape him.

With a fierce cry, he renewed his attack, striking the Charrogg with all the strength he could muster.

'Prime Thrust'

The spearhead pierced deep into the wound, making the monster's tremble. The beast let out a deafening roar as it stumbled and fell to its knees, its strength finally giving out.

Kai stood over the defeated beast, panting and sweat-drenched, but triumphant. He had won the battle and finally fairly fought the first beast in his second life.

As he gazed down at the Charrogg, he couldn't help but feel a sense of disgust for the beast. It had been a worthy opponent, but its resilience lost him a lot of time. Other beasts would surely be attracted by the sounds of their battle, and Kai needed to make his escape before they arrived to claim the kill.

With one last glance at the fallen Charrogg, Kai turned and ran, disappearing into the wilderness with the sound of his own pounding footsteps echoing in his ears.
